Our host Seiko was wonderful and very helpful. The amenities were fantastic, especially the private onsens. The breakfast was delicious but so much for us to eat when we just wanted to hit the snow. And we loved tinkering on the beautiful Yamaha piano, and the drying rooms and place to service our boards were very handy... such a great experience. 👍 🙏

Okamisan (owner) is so lovely and we enjoyed her home made dinner and breakfast. We’d like to come back to this Ryokan. Bus stop to Nozawa ski area is next to it, so it was convenient, too.

The proximity to the snow access walkway was fantastic. The local ladies also cook onsen eggs very near to the property. Shannon, the host, was so friendly, and helpful, and made us feel so welcome.

Out of town at ski slopes. Would be great in winter. Walk into town helped by long moving walkway, but it stops at 4:30, taxis stop soon after and there are no buses. Owners willing to help out in emergency.

It had everything you needed. The toilets and showers were so clean at any time day or night. Breakfast for 500 yen was a great start to the day. Then you had dinner which was all you could eat which cost us around $30 Australian dollars for 2 adults. Our kids are free as they are under 6 years old. It had ski hire, free washing machine and dryer. Great location a short 5 minute walk to the main gondola to ski the mountains. The owner and staff were fantastic and very attentive and helped with everything we asked. Totally recommend

Well laid out, very functional, nice and roomy with everything we needed. Great location with easy walk to slopes, ski almost to door, easy walk to town but the best thing was being next door to the public onsen

These cute and cozy cottages are the perfect spot for a Christmas getaway. We arrived in this winter wonderland while it was still light outside and enjoyed the snow around and the atmosphere.
It took us a little while to warm up the cottage and get a hang of the wood stove, but eventually we cozied up inside and had a wonderful time.
The kitchen was really well equipped with a variety of appliances and utensils. We cooked a delicious comforting curry with the rice and veggies we bought from roadside stations around and a vegan curry base from Noguchi supermarket in Yuzawa, Niigata, where we stopped by on our way to the cottage.
I only wish we could have stayed more than just one night, but unfortunately I was a little late making the booking, and it was already sold out.
