The experience of staying in a traditional Japanese home/inn is amazing. Although dated, but it is tidy and clean. Bit of character and charm in this lovely lodge. Surrounding views are amazing! The owners only speak Japanese, but makes the effort to use Google Translate to help communication. Google doesn't get it right all the time, but we managed. Lovely old couple managing the place. You can pay a little more to arrange for the owner to cook you a traditional Japanese breakfast. It's the best breakfast I ever had! Great for people who are willing to understand the Japanese culture and experience the traditional Japanese way.

It was more like a homestay in a Japanese family with a big house than a hotel. The rooms were nice and clean with toilets. Breakfast was delicious having fresh salad and fruit. The couples were very welcoming, and I enjoyed my solo travel very much. About IkenoTaira ski resort: If you go skiing or snowboarding, the snow where great here. During my stay, almost every day was snowing heavily. I enjoyed skiing in powder snow, it was a great feeling.
