Everything! The hosts were friendly and helpful, they even recommended new spots to visit! The room was spacious and there were nice common areas, everything was super clean and the area around the house is beautiful. The house it’s a bit far from the station but they can pick you up and drop you there by car. It was a great stay!!! 100% recommend :)

My stay there was lovely! My family and I really enjoyed ourselves at this place. The space was really huge and it was accessible by car. The hosts were also prompt in their response and very kind and helpful! It was a good stay.

It was wonderful stay! The owners are very nice and attentive! When you want to experience pure traditional Japanese living, come to this beautiful small Ryokan! I overlooked that the rooms don't have private bathroom - the bathroom is in onsen bath and it is private when you are inside.. and if I have known that, I wouldn't booked the stay, but at the end, it was brilliant experience - very comfy, very extraordinary and still very clean!

The room was much bigger than I anticipated, and in a Japanese style (with tatami) so I was pleasantly surprised. The onsen in the hotel was an absolute delight. It had several baths with different temperatures, a lounge space, a sauna, a cold bath (which can be rare), and of course everything needed to wash yourself thoroughly before going into the baths. The hotel also provides body towels as well as face towels, so you don't need to bring yours. They have lockers to keep your items safe while bathing. There's free breakfast (little pieces of bread + some juice and coffee/tea) and a space on the first floor to relax after the onsen for example. It has wifi there as well.

Traditional ryokan with very rustic feel, exactly what we wanted. Location is right by the station which is super convenient, and there is a Lawson and 7-11 within 3-min walk. There is a private onsen which you can go to for free without paying extra! You just go in and lock the door and it’s yours for however long you want. They provided free tea and cookies in our room daily. One of the owners was kind enough to drive us to the Snow Monkey park, which we appreciated a lot !!

The host was super friendly and gregarious. She was kind, helpful, and loving as we felt smitten by her all weekend. It's a nice place and we felt very comfortable there for two nights. The facilities were also fantastic, no complaints whatsoever and would highly recommend anyone looking for a friendly and comfortable place to stay

From Tsubakino Hotel it is a 40-minute drive to Jigokudani Monkey Park, as well as to the Hokusai-kan Museum in Obuse Town.

This ryokan is so charming, clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the onsen is fantastic. We loved that you can book the onsen for private use during the afternoons before 7pm. We hope to come back to Ryokan Hakura!

The staff is so helpful and wonderful. The check in procedure was very nice and homey. The facilities are very good as well, especially the outdoor onsen that you can book for a private slot. The room was very spacious. The kaiseki dinner was also amazing! All in all, a very nice ryokan in a good location for seeing the snow monkeys.
