Iwasuge Hotel is only a 6-minute drive from the Terakoya Ski Resort, and less than a 15-minute drive from both Nishi-Tateyama Ski Area and the Shiga Kogen Giant Ski Resort. The Happo Onsen Hot Springs bus stop is a 1-minute walk.

The staff is absolutely fantastic! They doesn’t speak English but whit google translate, hands and feet we became really far. They helped us with planning our trip back to Nagano. In case you need help for information about the bus etc. go to the reception! They even brought us to the bus stop in heavy snow! The food is delicious! Super Japanese which gave us a traditional feeling. We also booked the typical Japanese room, do it for the experience (not for the comfort…) After a long day of skiing and cold the hot water spring is so nice and warm! Our best Japanese experience we had here and we will definitely come back!

Just a 2-minute walk from the Maruike ski resort, Hotel Shirakabaso Shigakogen offers indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, rooms with free Wi-Fi and a launderette. It features both Japanese-style and Western rooms.

The service was incredible, from the time we booked to the last goodbye. It was our first time in Japan and for most of us, our first time skiing. Naoko helped us with absolutely everything, booking extra space for our friends, booking the right tickets for ski lifts, guiding us where to go, looking for ski school, renting gear and equipment, taking buses, you name it! Always so kind and calm! Everyone in the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. The place is really clean and like a home! You can pretty much ski from the hotel car park! Food was beautiful and it was just so nice to relax in the Onsen after a day of ski and before a feast! Not worrying about restaurants, with 4 teenagers, all we did at night was enjoy their company playing ping pong, cards and chatting about the day! We couldn’t feel more comfortable or welcome!

Stayed here with my family for a ski trip and they cover everything, from ski rentals to ski passes and food. The service was exceptional and the food was delicious as well. I really loved the lounge with the fireplace where you could sit and relax after a day of skiing.

This was an older Japanese owned/run hotel. Close to the ski lifts, but not a ski to door as it was advertised. We ate breakfast there every morning and several dinners during our week stay. The food was good and had different options added each day, but had some of the same basics everyday as well. The onsen was older, but clean and relaxing. The rooms were older but clean and comfortable. They had free lockers to store your ski/snowboard equipment in the lobby area. The staff was very hospitable and observant of our needs. We had a great stay at this modest Japanese style hotel.
