Everything! The most loveliest hosts, felt really like spending the stay in their family. Since vegan dinner options were rare in Iiyama, the host lady prepared a vegan vegetable stew and tofu as a side dish just for me and we had dinner together at their family kitchen table. ♡ Though communicating in English was a bit difficult, the 3 of them made an immense effort to communicate with me via Google translate - loved and enjoyed learning more about Iiyama, their life and Japanese culture so much! Also, met their lovely daughter Natsumi again by accident in Nozawa at Haus St. Anton a few days later which was lovely! :) Thank you for everything!!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our family stay at the Madarao Mountain Lodge. Used it as a very convenient base for 3 nights to ski the Madarao, Nozawa and Myoko resorts. Loved the friendly welcome from Hiro and Tomo , both wonderful hosts who were very accommodating and eager to help. Great being able to sort lift tickets thru Hiro at a discount rate & really appreciated the drop off and pick up from the mountain each day . Lodge is a pleasant stroll to restaurants and bars . Onsen was exceptionally clean and welcome after a long day on the slopes .
