The area is famous for hiking and biking. Skiing can be enjoyed nearby at the Fanningberg Cable Car, in the Großeck-Speiereck Ski Area, Obertauern Ski Area and Aineck-Katschbergand Ski Area.

In summer, once a week the hotel organises a trip to the hotel's own mountain pasture, which is 1,500 metres above sea level. Guests can enjoy freshly fished char there.

Cross-country ski runs, as well as ski tour and hiking trails, pass close by Hotel zum Granitzl. The Fanningberg, Speiereck and Katschberg Ski Areas can be reached within a 15-minute drive.
