Loved this place, made our stay on Tahiti and was the best introduction to french polynesia.
Its in its own gorgeous priavte garden , other than a little road noise and the crashing of waves on the reef its very quiet and peaceful. Rays and small reef sharks pass frequently in front of the propoerty. amazing colours at sunrise and sunset which you can wake up to as priavte enough to leave curtains open. lovely view , island of moorea in the distance. very nice friend of the owner was waiting for us on arrival with the keys and gave us a good welcome and intro to the property. use of the sit on top kayaks was great , we were out there every day, does get very shallow at times so be careful.
we had car rental, with a car this is a great location for touring round the island, secure parking is in the property. not sure how accessible is without a car. Great sandy public beach 15 min walk up the road.
Big deck, for breakfasts and lounging. some mosquitos but the gekos and mosi coil were enough to keep them out of the actual bungalow. End of september, we were not too hot at night even without AC.
The bed was perfect for us , nice and firm, and a real super king not 2 doubles put together. we even looked up the make of the mattress becasue we wished we had it at home!
I had thought it was quite expensive when we booked but compared to other places we stayed I think it was worth it for the privacy, space and comfort.

Host was very welcoming and kind. Thank you for your hospitality !!!
Garden and apartment were very clean and well cared for. We only stayed shortly but the apartment has all needed items to prepare food and we did not feel like we are missing anything. There is a ventilator and A/C in the bedroom.
There is a supermarket nearby, a clothes store and a couple of restaurants, but I would recommend renting a car for getting around or to the beach etc.
Offering a garden and garden view, TAMANU LODGE is situated in Punaauia, 800 metres from Toaroto Beach and 2.9 km from Vaiava Beach.

It was a good base for exploring the coast during our short visit. Hired a car from the lodge which was handy. Transfers arranged to and from the airport. Laundry facilities available.

The bungalow is fantastic with beautiful views over an amazingl part of Tahiti and towards Moorea. The premises is clean and accessible through separate entrance on the side. Well equipped kitchen and lovely seating on terrace. The hosts were wonderful friendly and helpful with information. Certainly recommend this place but it's near the top of the hill so you will need a rental car. Enjoy!!
Self-catering accommodation gives you the freedom and privacy that’s needed to enjoy a well-earned break. From modern apartments and luxury villas to beach huts and eco-lodges, the options are seemingly endless. Cook in your kitchen, read in the garden, or chill on the sofa and watch TV – however you choose to spend time, you’ll feel right at home.
The location was perfect for us, surf beach just down the road was awesome! The house is clean and spacious, great kitchen with everything you need to cook etc Lovely big covered outdoor area to hang out at night or when it’s raining.
Helpful Alex and his family run a quiet beachfront camp–type hostal. Two sea view cabins, with set back garden view apartments. The bedroom of these apartments are up steep stairs but you can stay downstairs. Renovated bathroom and kitchen. Taxi to this property cost us $80usd – terribly expensive. We tried to take the bus back to Papeete, but the bus drove right by us. We had to hitchhike to catch our ferry to Moorea. Rental car is recommended or for a couple days stay closer to ferry or airport.
We enjoyed the mellow space. The food available at the location was incredible, though we had prepared to make our own meals. The kitchen space was great. Lighting good and seating and bedding were great.
Beaufiful location, the host is reallyyyy nice and the rooms are very spacious with a well equipped kitchen. You can rent surf boards and SUP boards at Manomano. You can do SUP and snorkle right in front of the property and there is a surf spot only 2 minutes away by car.
