Such a lovely overnight stay at Black Label Retreat. Spa was good to go on arrival. Bed was super comfy. There were heaters to warm the rooms. Views were beautiful as we are on a hill. Everything was nice and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere quiet.

Very accommodating to our requests. Kitchen was 'tight' but as we only stayed one night, so it sufficed for our stay. Gisborne interesting town with many memorials to Cook in town as well as up the coast.
We were biking the rail trail 3 minutes down the road, so the place was perfect, and our host was lovely. She had the fire roaring, and the lovely high kitchen for us to cook in was brilliant . Very quiet and peaceful.
The whole experience was top tier, the room the bed, linen, bathroom, the fully equipped kitchen, The Privacy, THE VIEW, the sunset, The SPA!!! Overlooking the sea my goodness what more could you ask for. The balcony every inch of this accommodation has been well thought out. Consider me well rested and at peace after my stay.
Breakfast provisions supplied were generous in variety and quantities, including home-made jams and preserves. Our congenial hosts were welcoming, friendly, accessible but respectful of our privacy. Home baked sweet treats left for us daily were delicious surprises. A dishwasher was a bonus. The well equipped kitchen for self catering was appreciated. A TV with Netflix was another delightful surprise. We enjoyed the comfortable lounge and recliner chairs. Bathroom and shower both excellent.
