Hisae is an extremely warm, attentive and welcoming host. When we arrived, she welcomed us with a cup of tea, explained how the house worked and gave us several recommendations (restaurants, sake tasting, etc.). She was there for us at all times, with any questions, and made us feel very welcome.
The house is a renovated machiya in the heart of Nara's old town. It really did feel like home. There's a bus stop just a 1-minute walk away, serving all the main points in town. Very useful for visiting Nara.
We also took part in a Japanese calligraphy course with an instructor and Hisae, who guided us through each stage of the learning process. We had a magical time, which will remain engraved in our memory.

The best stay ever! A very lovely house, everything in the house is carefully designed, and all the things you need are available. There is a small garden, but unfortunately it is too hot ouside, otherwise it would be very pleasant to have a tea in the garden. The two double beds in the bedroom are spacious enough to accommodate four people, and the tatami room can also accommodate two more.
Finally, I'd like to say sorry to the landlord. When I checked in, I had trouble because I mis-input the entery code, which caused the landlord to send someone over to assist.

One of the best experiences we've had on our trip to Japan.
The house is located in the mountain with a limited access (only car) as it's on a toll road. Owners were extremely nice, sweet and helpful. They gave us a lot of tips and tricks for Nara (which we used) so we had even better experience. Very easy to communicate with owners, they text back very quickly and are very nice.
The house is very well equipped, the fireplace is amazing, you can easily prepare a hotpot or grill some fish or steaks (owners have amazing equipment for both). The house is equipped with a traditional Japan style hottub which is a must try! The house was very nice and clean, enough space for everything, nice kitchen, living room and beautiful view. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Traditional bedrooms were very comfortable.
We really enjoyed staying in this accommodation! Definitely worth it!

10 mins drive away from Nara Park, quiet little house away from the crowd. Clean and comfortable with free use of its facilities. The host is accommodating and even provides recommendations on food around the area. He speaks good English, so communication is easy.
As we are unable to reserve a slot at the strawberry farm over the phone, he did so willingly despite being outstation in Tokyo.

The host was super nice. We arrived earlier prior to 3 pm and able to check in especially under the mid day heat! We got off at Nara station and took bus 14 to the house, it was about 10 minute walk from the bus station crossing the overpath. The house was nice, authentic Japanese house with Tatami floor beds and air conditioner. The kitchen and amenities were nice and useful. Nara park and Todai-ji temple were beautiful and tranquil. We used one of the hand towel as wet towel and "neck cooler" to cope with the summer heat.

Excellent staff, huge rooms, unlike any other in Japan, a shared onsen and also a bathtub in the room, an information center for trips to activities in the area, a convenience store in the building, a washing and drying machine, a kitchen, shared seating areas, everything you need and more.
Charming traditional house. We had a private room with bath, and it was just what we wanted in a simple Japanese style, and it had a small terrace. We could share the kitchen facilities with the main house where the dorm was.
Everything!!!!!! It was too ideal. Very comfortable, quiet and great food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. ありがとうございます、よすけさん。the amenities were fantastic with self catering kitchen, multiple bathrooms, in house slippers and beautiful tatami mat rooms. When we return to Nara, we will definitely stay here again. The area was also very quiet.
The room was very generous for the price - it would sleep 5 at a pinch. The bath, while small by European standards, was large for Japan. It really is a visitor centre, and if it's raining there are free activities such as origami and calligraphy. The location is quiet and within reasonable walking distance of the main temples. There are kitchen facilities, and there's a small convenience store downstairs. (The room has a fridge, and a kettle was supplied free of charge.)
