In a quiet residential neighbourhood near to the university. Carrefour local and a series of nice coffee shops and Pilot (bar/ restaurant) about 5 minutes walk. Secure.
Lovely spacious and clean room with access to a wonderfully retro and kitschy kitchen (ideal for self-catering if you're on a budget, there's also a Lidl really nearby). This self-catering room was quite exceptional- the house is in a slightly scruffy-looking street but inside it is really beautifully decorated, spacious, everything spotless, nice kitchen facilities too and a little courtyard. Close to the metro station in an interesting quarter of town.
The location in Koukaki is super. Really lovely place too. It is self catering but we went out for food anyway. Found a super baker (Takis) not far away and en route to Acropolis. There's lots of restaurants and shops nearby too. Quite a cool, safe area. The accommodation is basically a really nice apartment in town. Lovely bedroom with comfy bed, spare bed in living room, functioning kitchen if required, great place overall
We booked a double room apartment which was 2 single roomed apartments with and adjoining door and worked well. Very light and airy, Equipped with a small kitchenette. Better equipped than what you get when self catering out on the islands. Location right in the middle of the restaurants. Spoilt for choice where to eat and drink. (Don't let google street view put you off the location.)
Nicely located a short walk to the Acropolis, with cafes, bakeries and shops nearby. Clean, a good base and a safe-feeling area. We didn't use the kitchen facilities, but they were there for those self-catering and looked all in good condition. Host was easily contactable, and helped us to check in.
