Just a perfect location, quiet and peaceful, short stroll down the beach to the bar for drinks and dinner. Wonderful host so helpful to us. Great internet and well equipped kitchen, aircon in the bedroom. Great bonus having the pool and scooter to get supplies.

Secluded garden style property, peaceful and quiet. No ocean views of the beautiful aitutaki but nice that it is so private.
We were greeted by a big bowl of fresh fruit and coconuts. House was modern comfy and had everything we needed and to be honest was nicer than I thought it looked in the photos.

Gorgeous house on the beautiful Aitutaki! We got picked up and dropped off from the airport. Everything we needed was in the house. It was very spacious and new. Scooter hire was just across the road
Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodation on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkelling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property.

We really enjoyed our stay here, prime real estate right on the beach but without the hefty resort price tag. Great swimming in front of the huts at all tides, you don't need booties as there's lots of sand to stand on. You can see some coral and fish although not a huge amount. Snorkelling off the beach at Rarotonga itself (outside the Rarotongan resort) is better than off the beach at Aitutaki and the water is clearer. However the boat trip with Matthias had amazing snorkelling with crystal clear water and rays, moray eels, turtles, giant trevally and many other fish beautiful coral and giant clams, a must do!
The free bikes were great and functioned well, we had fun tripping around the island on these with our stuff in the baskets. You can bike to the bottom of the nearby lookout walkway and then walk up for great views.
Food wise we biked to the WokKai a couple of times, good for cheap Asian. One night we walked along the beach to Tava'e restaurant which was delicious quality food and generous portions for about NZD $30 for a main.
Matthias was a great host and we enjoyed his laid back style on the boat trip.
Overall we really loved Aitutaki - a real relaxed holiday place with plenty to do

Beautiful spacious grounds. Quiet but close to Avatea cafe! It's a whole different vibe to staying on the beach. Go for walks and you meet the locals out gardening etc. We stayed 2 weeks and even were ablento watch the Olympics. It's a short scooter ride to beaches and various shops.
Loved the pigs with piglets next to the drive. Queen Tutai was so helpful.

Location is ideal, the cabins are thoughtfully well appointed. You can snorkel/swim directly from the front of the property, cabin has kitchen & bbq for self catering or a couple of restaurants at resorts either side of the property are a close & easy walk if you prefer to dine out. An electric scooter was also available for guest use with no charge along with kayaks & SUPs. Airport welcome & transfers were seemless & staff were friendly.
Absolute paradise!! The villa was beachfront and only a few so it felt private. Accommodation had everything provided in the kitchen. Tearoa was so helpful she met me at the airport with my car hire and showed me the way to accommodation. Very helpful when I had questions. Would definitely go back!!!
This is not a resort , but if you want peace and quiet, all the facilities you need, the best location on the island with good snorkeling and a kayak, then this is the place. Self catering and handy (with transport) to facilities (two minutes to airport). Most people don't know it's there. Helpful owners (off site) but a daily check by friendly and pleasant Ngarie. These comments made after several visits.
Location, staff and restaurant food and cocktails were excellent, inspite of having a temporary makeshift kitchen the chefs did wonders.

Spacious bungalows with kitchen. Location right on the beach with kayaks. The location was really private and felt like we had the whole beach to ourselves. If you don’t have a car (like us) there’s only really one restaurant within walking distance, so worth stocking up on enough food from the grocery store. A great stay!
Quiet area in the middle of the island. Lush greenery around. Tutai was very welcoming and picked us up from the airport.
The lodge has everything you need if you are like it basic and to be close to nature. All windows and doors are screened, didn’t had one mosquito inside. Excellent sleep. And water pressure we much appreciated (some shower have low pressure on the island). Kitchen is great.
