Lovely hotel, in a great location just in front of the harbour but set back on the hill. The hotel rooms are traditionally deorated and spotlessly clean. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and there is a pretty restaurant and bar for meals and evening drinks. We couldn't hear any noise in our room from outside even though Hvar at night is quite lively.

À la carte breakfast! omg! Amazing! We stayed in Croatia for 10 days and stayed in 5 star hotels in Dubrovnik, Split and Hvar. We got buffet breakfast in the other hotels, so you cannot compare the breakfast here! No complaints. Staff were amazing and attentive. The location was so central, right at the port, so only 2 min walk from where the ferry dropped us off. Also hotel is next to bars and restaurants.

I don't know if I'll be able to do justice to how much we loved Hotel Moeesy. Both the property and team members were exceptional. We have never had such a restful experience at a hotel. From the porter meeting us at the ferry, to the front desk staff who helped us with our travel planning far before we got there, to the people at breakfast, everyone is so kind, friendly, and helpful. Our room was beautiful and we are so glad that we got the water view balcony - having coffee out on the terrace was peaceful every morning. The three pools were nice to come back to after a day of walking and have a good view of the ocean. Everything on the property is maintained perfectly, there was always someone around discreetly tidying and it is a very short and pretty walk into town on the ocean-front promenade. The breakfast was the best. If you can't tell, we could not have been happier with our stay - I was upset the morning we had to leave. If we could go back and do it again we would have cut out other days from our trip and booked here for longer. Thank you Hotel Moeesy!

Great location just out of the busy marina. Breakfast was good - so much choice! Rooms were nice and clean and quiet considering the hotel is fairly busy!

Hvar is the largest city on the Croatian island of the same name within the Adriatic Sea. The wildly undulating coastline formed a natural harbour here, a fact which didn’t go unnoticed by the Venetians, who captured it as part of their empire. The Venetian Fortress sits atop a hill and 13th-century ramparts descend to the old town.
Another castle from Napoleonic times is on a different hill offering beautiful views over red roofs towards the offshore Pakleni islands sheltering the port. Ferries link Hvar to neighbouring Brač and Vis islands, Split and Ancona in Italy.
Given the size of the city, the amount of Hvar accommodation is staggering, and Booking.com offers everything from luxury hotels with pools to cheap guest houses and beachfront apartments. Although most beaches are rocky, their scenic setting and warm turquoise waters are still a draw.
At the heart of the city is the largest square in Dalmatia. Restaurants and bars spill out onto its cobbles, ending at St Stephen’s Cathedral with its see-through belltower. Around the same time the cathedral was going up, one of Europe’s oldest theatres was constructed in the waterfront Arsenal. The Loggia is the only remain of the Governor’s Palace, and the Hvar Heritage Museum helps to put all this in context.
Hvar was amazing. The island and views were beautiful.

Beautiful old town.
Beautiful old town. Spectacular view of many surrounded island from the Napoleon trail. The city provided plenty of seating benches throughout the city and rural. I visited other towns in this island that have the same relaxing standards. Thanks to the Croatia government.
However, October was not a good month to get access to island tours and most restaurants. I was told that April to September is when the businesses open fully.

I only went to the old town, arriving by ferry in the evening. Absolutely beautiful but even in October it was way, way over touristed. I decided to stop contributing to the problem myself by changing my plans and leaving early the next morning.

Hvar is incredibly charming and I wish we could have stayed a few more days. It's a high energy environment with young and older tourists alike, gorgeous historic spots like the Fort and really great shopping (dresses, jewelry, pretty handbags on trend all reasonably priced from a Boston perspective).

Hvar is for you if you love being near the water and sitting in the sunshine. Things i wish I’d taken, more cash, many places operate on a cash only basis and they cash machines charge up to €10 to withdraw from. The cheapest bakeries which are also delicious are near the bus station. Bring insect repellent and insect bite treatments and also bring your own sunscreen as it is incredibly expensive to purchase it on the island.
Take shoes you can comfortably walk up and down stairs in and on cobbled streets.
Best places to east for me were Kantun, Coffee snob, sweet treats bakery and Fig Hvar.

Hvar has the most beautiful water I have ever seen, if you take a trip with a taxi boat to one of the smaller island, you'll have a wonderful time. There's a nude beach where fortunately not a lot of people go to cause they're scared of nakedness.
Its super party touristy in the main town. Rich british boys and old white men.. everything is super expensive. There's no buses driving around the island so you'll have to rent a scooter or walk a long distance.
This hotel is all about the location and the great staff and outdoor space. The new pool and outside seating / loungers were a great bonus. Breakfast on the terrace next to the boats was magical. The room was smallish .. though probably felt smaller because our previous hotel room was huge but the view made up for it entirely . We could hear the music from the concerts until the early hours but I think that comes with the territory in Hvar town centre. The black out blinds and double glazing helped a good nights sleep regardless.
Not only was the apartment substantially larger, and better outfitted than most comparably priced (and pricier) hotel/Airbnb options, Christina, the host, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible. She provided great local recommendations and even coordinated a local COVID facility to open up early so my girlfriend and I could be tested prior to a ferry. Christina's place is about a 5-minute walk to the main town, and a block away from Fig, one of our favorite restaurants in Hvar. Highly recommend.
This hotel had one of the best locations I've had while travelling. All the famous beach bars on the island are in 5min walk from the hotel, and if you keep going 5min more by the sea you are in downtown. There is also supermarket and pizzeria nearby if the weather is bad as it was some days while we were there. The breakfast was delicious and with great options for sweet/savory and the staff super friendly. I cannot recommend it enough.
Wonderful! Brand new with luxury furniture, spacious and comfortable in the most prestigious location on the island.
We felt like in the movie, as the villa itself is set on the archeological site, and it has a mini-museum with antiques.
The wine cellar is fantastic, with the best Istrian wines from the famous Meneghetti winery.
If you like the luxury Mediterranean style, this is The Place!
We will be back for sure!
Fantastic place with all you may want for a stay in Hvar: pool for the hot midday hours, short walk to port for sightseeing, dinner, night life and beaches. Excellent buffet breakfast, helpful and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with mini fridge. We arrived at noon and were allowed to leave our bags at a storage room; we were given towels to enjoy the pool while waiting to check-in. Strongly recommend this hotel.
It’s a very inviting old building with old time charm and decor. The location is excellent to easy access to all attractions. The rooms were big and bed was very comfortable with good bathroom and shower. What made our stay memorable was its amazing front desk staff, always smiling and eager to serve. I have been on Central European trip for 20 days and by far, this hotel had the best and most helpful front desk.
So glad we picked this great room for our lodging on Hvar. The staff from the hotel (the room is part of it but accessible from a different street, yes there are stairs) were so welcoming and helpful, serving welcome drinks and giving all the information we needed for our stay. Perfect location, clean, quiet and nice space on a beautiful street. Delicious breakfast included, get the salty pancakes!
the hotel is in a real nice area of Hvar, with a nice view of the small islands and just 10 minutes of a beautiful walk by the sea from the center, but you have your own parking slot for your car and these is priceless.
The room was very clean, the forniture and the bathroom quite basic but in perfect conditions, the terrace wonderful ( room 201 ).
All the staff very friendly and helpful.
Fantastic location, friendly staff, great amenities (pool, beach area, restaurants) and great service (they even take your luggage from the port to the hotel and back to the port upon arrival/check out). Very short and pleasant walk to the Hvar town itself where the shops and restaurants are. Concierge was friendly and very knowledgeable and helped us book an island excursion
A little gem! Nestled in the bay of Milna you’ll find Josipa and her brother running hotel Fortuna. Good communication, great location away from Hvar town (but with a hotel transfer service provided free) nice local restaurants nearby and some very pleasant nearby walks. Breakfast is adequate, room with a view is amazing but the setting is why you come here.
Pick-up lugage service at the ferry port once you arrive is great and priceless, especially when you have experienced before not to be assisted in Hvar. So that point is really good. Swimming pools and the location are good right on a private beach and less than 10min walk from marina. People working in the hotel are Nice and helpful.
Stunning small hotel with great views from the balcony of the castle. Warm welcome by the staff who were incredibly helpful and clearly take pride in their hotel - breakfast was great value and more. There are steps to get to the hotel but not too many compared to the rest of Hvar.
Nice modern hotel, excellent value for money with breakfast included which had lots of variety. Would recommend the pool view rooms. Prices for food and drink are reasonable compared to Hvar town. Staff very friendly and accommodating, we even booked to stay an extra night.
The hotel was heaven on earth. The views were magnificent. The breakfast was wonderful so much choice. The staff were lovely. The walk into Hvar along the coast lovely so you could take advantage of all Hvar had to offer at night. We loved our stay
The hotel is in one of the most convenient spots in Hvar. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was included in the room which is quite helpful so we didn't have to search around for a place to eat.
Great hotel, great location especially if using the ferry, wonderful reception including champagne, fantastic breakfast, luxury items within room, very nice outdoor lounge area, friendly and accommodating staff
Gorgeous hotel - stunning views and rock beach. Staff was awesome and super accommodating. I loved my stay at Hotel Podstine - was definitely one of the highlights of visiting Split and Hvar.
