A great place a few steps from the ocean to stay for vacation or for a remote work. We chose this place for the second year in a row to stay here for 6 weeks and loved it. Cozy, nicely furnished and well-equipped apartment with everything you need to feel at home. The staff is very pleasant and always helpful. We will definitely come back.

Gran Tarajal is a lovely little Spanish town. I say Spanish, meaning it's not busy, crowded and touristy like, say, Caletta de Fuste.
This means that the range of restaurants is fewer, but they all seem to be good and they're not the sort of places that do all day English breakfast, if you know what I mean.
One big thing to be aware of is that the town behind the beach (i.e. where most apartments are) is quite hilly, so if you're not great with mobility, that's an issue.
There's a small harbour as well.
The town is pretty good for exploring the island, as the driver time to El Cotillo in the north west is about the same as it is too Morro Jable in the south.

Gran Tarajal is not a tourist resort, it's a very Spanish town. No shortage of restaurants on the promenade and 2 good supermarkets. Though our apartment was above the main square by the beach it wasn't too noisy even at weekends it was quiet before midnight. There is a good black sand beach well used by the locals particularly in the evening. We don't hire a car when on Holiday and there are good bus services from Gran Tarajal to much of the island.

This is not an obvious tourist spot - quite possibly why I liked it so much. During the week I only heard non-spanish spoken half a dozen times.
One of the things I couldn't find out before I went was how easy it was to get a public bus (guagua) from the airport to Gran Tarajal - 1, 10 and 16
Only one or two an hour, but easy (and cheap) to get around. There's an extra 16 bus not on the current timetable which leaves GT @ 4pm (weekdays) - ideal for the Easyjet flight to LGW.
I would definitely recommend trying the Parillada de pescado at the restaurant in the port area. It's stuck out on it's own but always seems to be busy both with visiting sailors and locals.
Cafe americano generally not so good EXCEPT for the Bar Parada, unless of course you prefer your coffee very watery. Mostly cafe solo is a better option if you like strong coffee.
It's a very walkable town and I would happily revisit

Very friendly people. Nice local coffee shops.
Very friendly people. Nice local coffee shops. Check restaurant reviews as some are really great and others disappointing. Nice local vibe. Very different to the white sand 5 star tourist areas so it depends what you are looking for. Nice for a visit / short stay or if you want a base with local vibe and have a car to explore the island.

Clean and safe- people have pride in their village
Free music gigs- exceptional for young families
Friendly and helpful natives
Book a taxi before landing at Tarajal airport as we waited in long queue in heat for a taxi when we landed there
Italian restaurant on seafront our favourite- great pasta, pizzas and vegan options too
Loads of taxis in Gran Tarajal- just go to taxi rank
We liked the location of the apartment - it was in the town with no hotels and not so many tourists in a calm and close to the town center location. There was a washing mashine and dryer mashine which was perfect when coming from the beach and need to wash towels and clothes. |There were plenty of space for clothes and other staff in the rooms. The host was very helpfull and fast solved issues with internet. Internet was good for browsing and watching internet TV.
Always nice to start with a sincere warm welcome from Mary & Domingo who explained everything in the fully equiped apartment.
Comfortable bed, good shower and
the roof top sun terrace was amazing to enjoy your coffee in the morning and a good glass of vino tinto in the evening.
We can highly recommend this gem in the authentic town of Gran Tarajal where you sit mostly with the locals.
Mucho graçias Mary & Domingo por todo

Excellent location, right on the beach, a fully equipped, very clean apartment. Beautiful beach, not crowded with fine sand. Nearby, many restaurants with very diverse food. From Gran Tarajal you can easily reach Tarajalejo, Giniginamar or Las Playitas, beautiful places that are worth visiting. A pleasant surprise, both the apartment and the town. I can't wait to come back next year. Many thanks and greetings to the host.
Great place to stay in Gran Tarajal! Apartments were very cozy and clean, had everything you need for a pleasant stay. Everything is very near. Check in is very easy and the host Maria is wonderful -- she even sent some restaurants and places to visit recommendations. Would totally recommend for friend groups or families.
Location...on the beach
Plenty parking. Quiet building
Love Gran Tarajal
Handover and communication with Luz Marina...she was exceptionally accomodating and very kind
We had a great time here..all my negative comments are very small
Location was excellent right in the centre of Gran Tarajal adjacent to shops and the beach. Gran Tarajal is a very Spanish town with little tourist directed attaractions which suited us fine but wouldn't be for everyone.
Half-way up a mountain that hugs Gran Tarajal, La Casita has a rural feel (thanks mainly to the neighbor's goats and chickens) yet it's literally a short walk to town center, with all its advantages
Great apartment in the center of Gran Tarajal with everything you need
Spacious rooms, top floor,, nice view
Plenty of restaurants around
Nice owners
Perfect location for trips around the island.
Perfect location for staying in Gran Tarajal. Friendly host, who immediately responded to questions and requests.
Huge, clean apartment with more space than needed.
The flat was fantastic and we really liked that Gran Tarajal is not at all a main tourist attraction. It was perfect for our time being in Fuerteventura!
