Lovely pub in a quiet location, perfectly situated for a stop over en route to Cornwall. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was bigger than we expected, and very comfortable. We ate there and the food was good. We had a very good value self-service continental breakfast.

Grovetown Barn was a fantastic find. Nestled in the countryside in Cornwall surrounded by fields, spring flowers and lambs. We were greeted warmly by Fiona and given informative information about the room and area. The room was inviting and well equipped, it was very comfortable and so clean. Lovely views from the room. We had breakfast of fresh fruit, pastries etc, very delicious and a good start to the day! Mum and I had a perfect stay here and recommend it. Thank you Fiona and Grovetown Barn!
A relaxing country setting with friendly and helpful staff.
A relaxing country setting with friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was outstanding and the perfect way to start the day. My room facing the front of the hotel was quite noisy, with traffic passing early in the morning, which was surprising considering the rural location. Take ear plugs with you and you’ll be fine.
Dog poo on the lawn in the garden was a definite low point especially as I had my young granddaughter with me. Dog owners please take note and clean up after your pet.
Initially looking for two hotel rooms and Little Bere appeared on the listings. It seemed a good value option on the booking site and in reality completely exceeded our expectations. It was a well equipped and tastefully decorated two bedroom flat. Although we picked the location for convenience to meet a friend it proved to be a very central location touring out to the N and S coast. Need to find an excuse to go back now.
P.S Don't forget to check the fridge loaded with a welcoming pack of local scones, cream and jam
It's a nice traditional inn/hotel aimed primarily at fishing clients for the river. That said it's expensive for what you get...we overnighted there attending a wedding nearby... breakfast service was a bit slow in places...and were quite happy to serve up a basket of burnt toast!
We have stayed here before and as my family live in Lifton it is a very convenient base for us to use.
The river side location is very quiet and picturesque, we often stay out of season so have not really used the outside very much but in summer it is a lovely place to sit.
The hotel is really well looked after and you are made to feel welcome.
Jess, in particular who works at the front desk proactively ensured my family and I who organised a last minute visit, were well looked after.
It’s worth getting the breakfast with the room booking.
Lovely hotel. Spacious room, very comfortable bed. Lovely handmade biscuits and personalised note from management on arrival. Dining here is fantastic, great menu, very helpful waitress.
Staff here were very welcoming and friendly.
The hotel staff were incredibly hospitable and kind, could not have done more for me. The host was charming! The food was excellent, and plenty of parking. Having the Deli on site is a great idea.
The bed was very comfy ,it's a lovely traditional hotel, very peaceful, even liked not having tvs in the room, breakfast brilliant, tesla chargers was our main reason for staying
Everything and anything was perfect, lovely clean spacious room, delicious breakfast and friendly welcoming staff. I cannot recommend this lovely little hotel enough!
