Firstly, the people are wonderful. I would love to live here. I have been here for 4 months and have discovered many local restaurants and markets. The people are great. However, I definitely do not recommend the hostel Svanland. Cafe Laila: This popular cafe offers traditional Svan dishes and Georgian cuisine. It's a great place to try khachapuri, kubdari, and other local delicacies. Sunseti Restaurant: This restaurant offers both traditional Georgian dishes and international cuisine. It's known for its beautiful views and warm atmosphere. Cafe Panorama: This restaurant provides a dining experience with stunning views of Mestia, offering a variety of Georgian dishes. Khinkali and various meat dishes are popular here. The Old House Cafe: This cafe, housed in a traditional Svan house, offers homemade meals and a cozy atmosphere. We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March). If you want to ski relaxed and without queues in the middle of the great scenery of the Caucasus: Tetnuldi (30 to 40 minutes by car from the hotel) is an absolute insider tip!!! A smaller ski area is only 5 minutes away. Modern chairlifts, slopes well prepared......breathtaking views. I was thinking Mestia was just gateway for Usyuguri Village, but the fact is not. It is nice and cozy town but very convenient as I could buy basic stuff at some shops and change money. Taking walk in early morning was also nice to take photos of the towers and overview of village.URA-ScouTech

Massi, their family dog may be impressive in his appearance but he is certainly one of the most relaxed and kid-friendly dogs we have ever met. Our two year old daughter loved him.

Upon arrival she offered us coffee, cha cha and some snack. We loved their cha cha and cognac so much, that we bought some as well. (Best cha cha and cognac that we tasted in Georgia) Her daughter speaks very well English, so communication was good. The place is spotless clean and location is also good in Mestia center. I would highly recommend this guest house.

The room was simple, but elegant and cozy, bed with comfortable matrass for good sleep after every day hikes. Delicious and huge breakfast buffet. The best for me was a common area inside and on the yard to spend evening drinking wine and talking with other guests.

We enjoyed the place much more than crowded Mestia and there are many walks around. The road to the place is not entirely paved and requires careful driving. We drove with a private sedan and it was fine so no need for a 4x4 but it does take a bit of time. The owners were helpful and informative and put up a bonfire for us in the evening.
