The city is famous for its districts: the Belém's famous monuments; the Alfama's labyrinthine streets, bars and small shops; and the trendy Alcântara's docks. Lisbon’s most popular nightlife and shopping venues are located in Bairro Alto, while the traditional heart of the city beats rhythmically in the Baixa.
Enjoy a walk in the greenery of Jardim Botânico, admire the architecture of the Jerónimos Monastery or explore Feira da Ladra flea market. The Chiado area serves the city's best traditional Portuguese food. No meal is complete without some famous pastéis de nata!

great city, fun with a lot of history - somewhat run down but at other area very nice. Get ready to walk even if transportation is good and easy as some place can ot be access otherwise. My mum would love it but would not be abble to make it on the very uneven sidewalks, and all the up and downs.

Lisbon is quite hilly and requires good legs for walking around, so you want to be prepared before starting your visit. Download Rick Steves' free audioguide for an introductory walking tour of the city. Additionally, visit the Castle of San Jorge with fabulous views of the old city, take the local train to nearby Belem to see its many historical sights, and take a longer (but still under one-hour) train to Sintra for a day trip with splendid palaces--and another castle--outside the big city.

A wonderful, warm and beautiful city!
A wonderful, warm and beautiful city! We loved all the places we have been, especially Alfama, Belem and the towns nearby: Sintra, Cascais,.
It is very easy to travel with Lisboa card, by metro or bus or tram or even trains. We choose the restaurants based on google reviews and we were spot on every single time.
Avoid Belem on March 17 - is a marathon!! It happened this year and five years back when we first travelled to Lisbon, so it is clearly a repeated event. The best Pasteis de nata - Manteicaria! Definitely!

We liked discovering the culture, the habits and the Portuguese food. What was a bit difficult was: too many cars and lots of road and building works. Also, we were surprised to see so many people begging and sleeping in the streets. The metro is easy and great. Above all, we loved the free guided walking tour (you give what you want at the end, and this is a SUPER concept). Our guide, Rita, was extremely good: perfect English, good French, great humour, knew a lot about Lisbon and was generous in explanations and answers. We learnt more in 3 hours than in a week at school ;o)

We felt safe walking around the City and packed in a lot into our 3 days. The 'free' walking tour was excellent (Tours of my life from Praca Luis De Camoes) and over 3 hours learned a lot about the history of Portugal and Lisbon. Numerous small restaurants and the food was good. Easy bus ride out to Belem with a nice river walk back. Great to be in a place that was clean, with very little litter, and i even saw workmen repairing potholes!! A nice break from the UK.
HIstoric accommodations in the heart of old Lisbon; excellent location for walking to sights and restaurants. Modern design in old building; tasteful and beautiful. The breakfast provided, the extra efforts the staff went to in order to make our stay a warm welcome was really what sets this small, luxury boutique hotel apart from any other we've stayed in. Coming back at the end of a day of exploring, being offered a glass of wine; chatting with other guests .. it felt like coming home. HIghly recommend. Would love to return.
Good value for your money-stay in Lisbon if you're looking for something a little bit better than a regular hotel. Everything was clean and all contact with staff went smoothly.
The best part, however, was the free shuttle service from the hotel to the city centre (semi-flexible on exact location). The driver, Raphael (might not be correctly spelled), was the perfect man for the job, and could answer questions on what to do in Lisbon and give fun facts and information about the city overall. Definitely worth a ride!
The location was one of the best you could have asked for. Walking distance to an infinite amount of restaurants, cafes, shopping, plazas, and anything you could want to do in Lisbon. Walking distance to the Rossio train station so you could easily take a train to Sintra for the day. The hotel itself was very clean, and the staff was extremely helpful and informative. The room was pretty big for a European city, and extremely clean. The beds were comfortable, bathroom was nice.
Loved everything about this place, so happy I booked it. It made my stay in Lisbon. The hotel is brand new, love the design. Very very comfy bed and plenty of pillows. Staff were amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve had in any hotel. Highly recommended! You won’t be disappointed. It’s not exactly central, kind of at the other end of Avenida do Liberdade. But Bolt is very cheap in Lisboa so that wasn’t an issue. Rossio is about 20 min walk from the hotel.
The staff was the friendliest and most accommodating I have ever experienced. They made our stay exceedingly comfortable and luxurious. The hotel was beautiful, I loved the history and the art. The breakfast was fantastic and I also highly recommend their restaurant for dinner--it was the best meal we had during our time in Portugal! The hotel itself was the perfect location for our stay in Lisbon, only a block from the Tower of Belem. I would love to come back and stay again.
The host was extremely friendly and the communication was instant.
Easy commute from airport to the hotel - only cost €1.60 using the train.
The hotel is only 5 mins walk from the Lisbon city centre so it’s great.
The room was great too - massive. Really clean. The kitchen was spacious.
Our flight was 8pm but the host gave us a spare key for us to leave our luggage’s there and pick them up later after we checked out.
This is a great place to stay in Lisbon. The location is close to the city centre as well as the airport, there are many shops, cafes and museums close by. The room was nicely decorated, bright and had everything we needed. Bed was comfy and the hotel is in a quiet area so we had a good night's rest. Staff is great, always with a smile and there to help you (greetings to Davi!). Breakfast was delicious and fresh. Would recommend!
This hotel was booked for my birthday. A luxury stay and the building and rooms are exceptional. Service is what you would expect from a boutique 5 star hotel and it is to be applauded. Thank you for a lovely stay and I hope to visit your lovely hotel in future. Breakfast immense. Evening meal (extra) and wine exceptional for the price. Stay here for the experience you won't get in most 5* hotels.
Honestly this is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. Everything was brilliant. Location was amazing too, loved the avenue nearby and close to centre, metro, train station. The apartment had everything we could wish for, comfy beds and extremely quiet. If we ever visit Lisbon again we'll be staying here. Staff were extremely helpful. It's part of a 5 star hotel so the service was top level.
Absolutely best hostel ever. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time in hostel, in Lisbon and in Portugal.
They have dinner Events, pub crawl, fado, etc. They also gave us a guide for beaches on the West Coast. They als kept some of my stuff and I picked them up 2 weeks later when I returned to Lisbon, this was a huge help.
Very convenient for touring Sintra area or visiting Lisbon without having to stay in either location. Hotel managed to make you feel "At Home" even though it was a 5 star, it was very comfortable and non-pretentious. The roman ruins in the patio were a bonus and local restaurants are walking distance and good. Room was large, bathroom ample and shower excellent.
What a wonderful luxury boutique hotel, right in the middle of the City center. Beautiful old (Late 1500's) building with exceptional appointments and awesome service. The staff, Carla, Natalya, Alan Carlos, Diego Luiz, to name a few all bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. Would not hesitate to recommend this Hidden Gem in the heart of Lisbon.
Our room was large and set up exactly as we had requested.
Staff was excellent, particularly the breakfast staff. Breakfast was excellent with many options. One of the best breakfast situations I have ever had. Library on the top floor with available beverages was excellent. We loved Lisbon, and this hotel was one of the reasons why. Thank you!
The location of the hotel is fantastic in the center of Lisbon, 2 minutes for subway station near to some of the best Lisbona actrations, personel take care of you there are refreshents always available in the lobby . The breackfast is good served in a quite small room but not cahotic since very well managed by personel,
This is my #1 hotel in Lisbon! It has the best location you can think of... The staff is really exceptional, and this makes a huge difference in your overall experience at the hotel. It also reflects the warmth, the friendliness, the beauty of the city, itself.
Very polite staff specially Paula, she was very helpful and courteous, hotel is centrally located, breakfast was good, metro is just below, parking was never a problem, overall it's the best place to stay while in Lisbon.
Probably the Best 5 stars Hotel in Lisbon.
Location, Service, Glamour and a Great Experience in an amazing Hotel Atmosphere.
we a couple of great cocktails in Rocco, the Restaurant.
We´ll be back as soon as possible.
Everything. The property is a genuine 5 star hotel. The whole check in to check out experience had nothg to conplain about. Best option for family in lisbon. the location is amazing facing the river.
