Nicest for the least in Europe so far. Wonderful breakfast, location, and pizza. The apple strudel was fantastic. I ordered a strawberry waffle, and she got apple strudel. Apple strudel was so good and she wouldn't share, so I ordered a 2nd dessert. Tough job, but someone needs to do it. The swimming pool is in the Sister Hotel Bellevue.
Also, take the gondola lift to up ande walk down to the castle. We should have got an audio guide. This castle allows indoor photos. Hike down trail v1 v2 to tower overlook Hugo. Trail comes out at Old Catholic Church, which is worth a look inside also.

lovely hostel just next to vianden castle. the dorm I stayed in was quite spacious and everything was very clean. the location is perfect, you can see the castle from some rooms. breakfast was included which was also very nice. the staff were very friendly and happy to help! 10/10 I would return

Fantastic location in the heart of the Ardennes.
Fantastic location in the heart of the Ardennes. Obviously, in times past an important strategic crossing point for the River Our. Plenty of architectural history and the "Disney land" chateau overlooking the town. Most of the time. its a quiet medieval town, but walnuts are a important part of the local economy, and the second weekend in October is the annual walnut festival. They close the historic town centre on Sunday and the town goes mad, with thousands of visitors. So if you want a hotel room that weekend make sure you book early.

It's a pity the crisis has left its mark as a few places now seem to be closed. On the whole, though, it is still a lovely town, very picturesque and, if you have time, do not forget the castle. By the way, the Du Pont restaurant is a cheap but good place to eat and has a lovely view of the river and the bridge.

It's possible to go alone and follow the map when buying the tickets. The castle has a good structure and artifacts to see. I miss of one access to see the Vianden city on the top, cause this is blocked on the way.TiagoBrazil - 10Scored 10

Beatiful and charming.
Beatiful and charming. A nice little town for whoever likes to visit places where a lot of history has been preserved. It´s quite a hilly region, which ads to the charm, whereas the rest of Luxembourg tends to be more flat.

On the hill overlooking Vianden only a 15 minute walk from the city center (a walk which initially looks more steep and challenging then it actually is) The cottage is very well equipped and was very clean. Although the location is slightly remote, it was very easy to find. The owner is very pleasant and friendly. If you want to go and explore Vianden and it's surroundings for a few days, We would definitely recommend staying at the Vianden cottage.CornelisNetherlands

Parking is very limited, however, there are several around the hotel that we took advantage of. I already know from when I was a child. Restaurant is on the lower floors and is excellent. Fondue became quite expensive but it’s still recommended. Rooms are modern and good. Pool was lovely and the brekfast was plentiful with lots of options to choose from, my room was very modern, looked like it was recently renovated. Friendly staff and they let me check out an hour and a half later for no extra cost, and on top they were also able to store my luggage for several more hours while I visited Vianden Castle.
