Vasto is not too big and not too small.

Vasto is not too big and not too small. A large number of good restaurants. And not too far for wineries or trabocchi. After a month of visiting very small old towns in Puglia, we were happy that Vasto had more to offer.

    I loved this Hotel!

I loved this Hotel! The staff were helpful on arrival and throughout my stay. The room was comfortable with a balcony and bathroom. The room serviced daily and the breakfast had many choices and was great. Across the road a small church with a rest area, views over the coast and ocean. A short stroll to the park, a delightful walk by the children's play area and the pond, a small Cafe and fountain, cross the road and you are in the old town. Restaurants, bars, shopping and a history dating back before Greek settlement. I recommend this Hotel for travelers to Vasti.

When visiting Vasto, try to stay at B&B alla Canale.

When visiting Vasto, try to stay at B&B alla Canale. It is absolutely amazing, just a short drive from Vasto city center. The property is right on the Adriatic, with both a terrace and balcony overlooking beautiful landscaping and with steps down to the shore. The hosts are very welcoming, and, boy, did they put out a spread for breakfast! And, unlike much of Italy, they actually have secured parking for a large vehicle. Highly recommended.

Go for the beaches and nature area!

Go for the beaches and nature area! There’s quite a few paved and off road trails for biking and walking. The natural reserve at Punta Aderci is gorgeous but there’s also several small beaches just north of the historic Centre of Vasto. Great place to escape the hustle and bustle of more well known beach cities, without sacrificing any of the beauty or Italian experience. Definitely recommend renting bikes for a day or two!

Old city that charms you with its well preserved buildings.

Old city that charms you with its well preserved buildings. The modern fusions with the tradition just in perfectly harmony. People is kind and beaches are to die for. Hanging around the Piazza makes you feel like a character from Fellini's film, isn't easy to get around Vasto, but believe me when I say the magic from the place worth's to be experienced.

The property is in a quiet suburb of Vasto. In an elevated position so that the view out the windows, across the terrace, through the small olive plantation is to the Adriatic Sea. It is a short drive to the old centre and a manageable walk if you are reasonably fit. Inside was spacious where we could cook and eat some meals and even dry our clothes (as it rained during our stay). Our host and hostess were so hospitable and spent time being our social secretary! We loved Vasto and we loved Villa Rosaria.

Residenza Amblingh is in the delightful small town of Vasto, perched above the Adriatic in the old center of town. The walk to the Residenza is a pleasure in itself as it takes you through the historic and lovely town. We were upgraded to a room with a view of the small piazza outside the hotel and the sea below it and that was a pleasure. Breakfast was varied and featured some local specialties and was served on a terrace with a lovely view.

The breakfast was lovely with fresh baked delicious pastries and cakes. Focaccia sandwiches, you hurt and fruit, coffee and tea. It’s a walk down to the beach as this place is up on the hill. There is a city buses (#1,4&8 bus)and drop you off in the centre near the hotel. Gorgeous views! You are in the heart of the centre at night with shops, music and restaurants. Rino was a good host who communicated well.

Super clean, in a new construction, well appointed, and the most comfortable bed we've slept in, in a very long time. Host is lovely and very friendly. She gave us some information on the history of Vasto which i found fascinating. We enjoyed our overnight stay very much and will certainly return and stay longer on our next trip down to Salento.

The setting was idyllic. The accomodation was large, comfortable, luxurious and absolutely beautiful. Right along the Adriatic with views to die for. It was a privilege to have the opportunity to stay in Roberto's ancestral home. Best breakfast we have had thus far in Italy. Pastries were straight from the bakery and selected per our preference.

There was no breakfast. Water and fruit juice cartons were provided in a small fridge. We liked Vasto as a place to visit. A 10 minute walk to the centro storico. The en-suite bathroom has a good shower with abundant hot water - unfortunately the lavatory seat was not attached properly. Bath towels were fresh and replaced after 2 days.
