We loved the location, tranquility and one level living. The cabin was very roomy for our sisters vacation. We especially enjoyed the swing and the deck.

Davis is a wonderful weekend town. If you're here in the early week, you may have issues finding places that are open. The location is great - near walking and hiking trails, ski areas, kayaking, and other outdoor activities.

Came for the inaugural Moonlight on the Falls Marathon in Blackwater Falls State Park. Davis and nearby Thomas are quite small, mountain communities with a nice "boutique" feel to their shops and restaurants. No big chain restaurants or fast-food; instead, locally-owned specialty shops and restaurants made for interesting walks through these 2 towns. Davis and Thomas are both close to the park which has some gorgeous overlooks, trails, camping and cabins. Taking leisurely drives around the area's mountain roads was a joy, as well as visiting a few historical sites such as the Fairfax Stone site (headsprings of the Potomac river). Great area to get away from all the trappings of big cities!

Davis had a LOT to experience and do and visit. We not only did the Sky Ride up the Lifts but also Horseback Riding up the street from the Resort as well as travel a few minutes to Blackwater Falls. Davis offers so much and it's such a beautiful area to visit. Just wish we could've stayed longer.

Davis is a small old town that offers a look into the past of a rural coal mining town. It is in the process of remodeling many older home and offers many shopping experiences for visitors. My wife and I look forward to a future visit.

I come to Davis at least twice a year and always enjoy the outdoor opportunities and friendly atmosphere. The downtown area reminds me of a simpler time and I enjoy the unique eateries and shops. Dolly Sod and Blackwater Falls are two of my favorite wilderness areas to visit and hangout. I've used Davis to launch out to other areas such as Spruce Knob, Seneca Rocks, Tygart Lake, etc. which are not far away.

Our trip began on 20th of September.
Our trip began on 20th of September. Just before leaf peepers, but all very much enjoyed. Just before the rush of fall color, some stores only open on weekend. Quite the variety and charm of a small town! Restaurants as well, some only on weekend or certain days. None the less we enjoyed the friendly people and laid back atmosphere.
Nice, clean, comfortable, rooms with a colorful, modern decor. Pool and hot tub were nice on a frozen day. Operations at the hotel are scaled back because ski season is finished but spring/summer hasn't really begun. Dinner at the Hickory restaurant was fine but nothing fantastic (we ordered a basic burger and chicken sandwich). Did not eat breakfast at the hotel but it was offered in the restaurant. Felt a bit pricey for after taxes and resort fees, but I knew that going in.
Clean room. Very nice presentation in lobby of inn (snacks, drinks, breakfast each morning, couch and tv in waiting area, some helpful brochures on town of Davis and things to do nearby). Mini-fridge in room, hair dryer, lots of bath towels, shampoo conditioner and body soap dispensers in shower, makeup remover wipes on counter, ice bucket, ironing board, closet, nightstands with receptacles on them, tv, wifi, desk with chair.
We visited during the winter and the place was super clean, warm and quiet. The wifi was strong - two of us were able to stream videos and video chat at the same time. The location was great - it was close to downtown Davis (probably walking distance, but we drove) and less than 20 minutes from Timberline. My daughter and I really enjoyed our simple stay here.
practically nothing. Lodge didn't have a room available(they said : a lot of construction! and Eating facilities also were not available. We were given a cabin about 2 miles away from the Lodge. Since food and other facilities were not available, We had to go to Davis ( very small town with only one open facility, about 20 minutes drive.).
Continental breakfast was nice. Loved that there was coffee 24/7. Staff very friendly. The location is well placed.... close to Canaan Valley State Park and Black Water Falls State Park. Gas and convenience store across the road. Restaurants nearby.
Must have been one of the worst hotels in my life. Dirty, broken beds, mold in the shower. Dirty carpets. and also unfriendly staff. When we asked where the entrance to the famous Blackwater Trail was, we were told: I have no idea. Have no time
The resort is amazing. Beautiful location. The restaurants and gift shops are awesome. Short drive to Thomas, Davis, Seneca, et al. Deer and bunnies graze right beneath the patios overlooking the hills. It's lovely.
