The Lightkeepers Inn was an easy walk to the waterfront, shops, and restaurants, and the bus station. Everything was clean and comfortable, and having a separate living room/dinette made for great comfort. I'm up early so having the extra room allowed me to move while my wife was undisturbed.

In the summer, Martha’s Vineyard is a desirable vacation destination and can get crowded.
We were able to enjoy the best of the Vineyard without the crowds (and higher costs) by traveling the week before the start of the summer season.
There are buses that run between the towns and you can also rent bikes and scooters to get around. Because we were traveling in the off-season we rented a car and grabbed breakfast at the Black Dog Tavern in Vineyard Haven before making our way out to Aquinnah to see the lighthouse and cliffs at Gays Head. We made our way from there to Edgartown where we shopped (check out the Soft as a Grape store there!) and watched the boats and Chappy ferry from deck above the ferry. We wrapped up our day back in Oak Bluffs with sunset appetizers and drinks at the Lookout Restaurant.

Oak Bluffs is such an amazing and cute town.
Oak Bluffs is such an amazing and cute town. Lots of places to shop and eat. Cute historical buildings. Love the gingerbread houses! Best lobster roll you'll ever have at Martha's Vineyard Chowder Co!

There is so much rich history there.
There is so much rich history there. A definite place to visit. Don’t miss the early morning polar bear experience in the inkwell beach. Lots of nice shops and hidden art galleries. More than enough ice cream shops. Back door donuts was a nice late night treat but don’t let the long line deter you it moves rather quickly. Definitely need a car and take the time to visit all parts of the vineyard. Food was ok, not great. I was surprised that fish was not more plentiful on the menus. Must try Lobster roll, it’s everywhere.

There were many great restaurants and stores.
There were many great restaurants and stores. Beaches were ok. They were very rocky at the water line so we didn't want to go into the water. I would bring water shoes! The marina is very nice. Rent bicycles at Tony's All Star Bike Rentals! They were awesome there. We rode bikes to Edgartown and it was a really pretty ride. The ferry ride on the Island Queen was great and it put you right into the action. We walked a short distance to our hotel Summercamp.

We enjoying the shops, the good food and great ice cream. Enjoyed most of the people since they were very polite. First time there since 1969 and my children loved it so much that they want to come back along with the children.

We went off-season so had limited options but it was still great to walk around the area. It is the main area for stay and activities other than Edgartown. We went on the beach, pier, martha's vineyard chowder restaurant and Ritz bar. All seemed great to us, plus seafood was really good!!!
A beautiful property located just off one of the main streets in Oak Bluffs. Easy walking distance from the ferry and to restaurants, shops and the wonderfully named "Reliable Market" supermarket.
We had the honeymoon room which has its own small balcony over the entrance porch - a beautiful room!
The decor of the whole property is clean, fresh and appealing.
Wonderful and very friendly staff. They even let us borrow some folding chairs to take to the beach.
We came during off-season in March, and so naturally the island and the hotel were quiet, but I wouldn't hesitate to stay here during peak season! The location is perfect, water front, easy to get to, and the staff is very friendly. Easily within walking distance to the main shops and restaurants in Oak Bluffs, and it's right across the street from the beach. Plus the rooms are good size, and the bed was very comfortable.
charming place the stay in the town of oak bluffs. walkable to everything and right across from the beach. the was small but we spent time on the island in other places and the porch and living room are comfortable. The owner Henry and the staff were friendly and helpful . The capricorn house is old school quirky MV and glad we found it!
Breakfast very generous no holding back on the fresh fruit juice, fruit and muffins. Waddy , the hotel staff was a perfect gentlemen was perhaps the most friendly and accommodating person we have ever experienced during any vacation stay. If you need information regarding anything on the island. Just ask Waddy.
Impeccably clean; welcoming atmosphere. Decorations beachy and nice. Neat, clean; cute lil kitchen. Nice bathroom/inside shower. The accommodations were very good. We loved deck as well. Only 1.4 miles from center of Oak Bluffs, 1.5 from Vineyard Haven.Nearby bike path/walk to VH absolutely beautiful
The hotel's location is perfect and very quiet (5 min walk from the ferry terminal and 5min walk to Main street). Overall, the hotel offers a unique atmosphere and the staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and cookies are served in the afternoon!
We loved everything about this Inn! Erik, the host went above and beyond. So friendly, so helpful and accommodating. We’ve stayed at many exclusive and boutique hotels but the charm and hospitality of this Inn tops them. Thank you Erik!
Fantastic location in Oak Bluffs, with lots of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops close by. Our bed was super-comfy although the room itself was only slightly larger than the bed! Everywhere in the hotel was neat and clean.
It is a charming place to stay. As they have spacious spaces, you can enjoy your staying in the hotel too, not only in your room. We had a quite room with garden view.
The complimentary breakfast and lobby area for sitting outside was really nice. The hotel was also in the vicinity to walk to main street and the beach.
