WOW! WOW! WOW! I absolutely LOVED this hotel! I visited in May 2024 and only paid €110 for a sea view room (108) and had a huge balcony and fabulous views of the ocean! Bed was comfy. Shower was excellent! Free breakfast was delicious! The check in lady was super helpful and kind and spoke good English. Definitely recommend the sea view room!! The neutral pools (the free ones) were a magical experience to me! One of the best things I’ve ever done!

Beautiful view. Owned by locals who gave us great advice about the area. Isabel is very kind and helpful. Beautiful farming area with lots of hiking trails nearby, but also a short drive to the amazing ocean baths in town.

The husband/wife hosts were wonderful, going above an beyond to make this a great experience. There was a heat wave when we arrived which is atypical, so they got us fans the next morning. The location was terrific, both away from the day crowds at the pools but super close to the pools and the restaurants / grocery. The home was well appointed and the kitchen had everything you could need. Real treasure!

What a gorgeous place to stay! Clean and simple and modern. Free laundry (no dryer so I had to hang my clothes outside to dry, which I think is normal in Europe). Comfy bed. Good kitchen facilities. Loved the sectional couch to sit on and read. The natural pools (free ones down the road) were sooooooo incredible and refreshing!

A beautiful little town with the most beautiful swimming in Madeira in natural pools with sea water and sea fish. Protected from the waves and great for bathing and swimming, in a beautiful wild nature surrounded by rocks. Everything is close by car, the most beautiful levadas, the Fanal forest. Really spend more days.

We were driving around Madeira Island for 8 days & Porto Moniz was 1 of the most scenic area, beautiful rocky formations with the natural pools. We only stayed overnight, but wished we could have spent more time here, experience swimming the natural pools. Beautiful instamagramable picturisque views. Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira.
Porto Moniz is a tourist town in the far north of Madeira. the ocean view is amazing. The city has both natural and paid natural pools, where the only option is to swim. if you are a fish lover, there are really many good restaurants in this city. for us, the tastiest fish was Espada. It is also a great place to visit the Fanal forest, the Telegrafico gondola and the Rabacal area. for us, who are fans of bends, steep roads, beautiful nature and of course the sea, this part of the island was the most beautiful.

The place is not like a fancy hotel but if you are looking to experience REAL Madeira, this place is perfect for you. That know all the places that tourists don’t know and they are kind That literally saved me from the nightmare I was living.

It is a two-minute walk from natural pools which are the most famous attraction. You can choose real natural pools (free entrance) or a bit improved pools (entrance 1,5EUR). More than 5 restaurants are near the hotel. In my opinion, all of them are very good. Porto Moniz is a quiet place when crowds of tourists from Funchal leave in the afternoon. This place is a good starting point for exploring west of Madeira.

The restaurant is delicious. The service was great. Please note: there are 2 hotels with same name & same owner. We stayed at the older hotel and loved it. the new hotel looks lovely but we didn't stay in it so i can't say anything about the rooms. the lava pools are public so you can go to them even if you're not staying at the hotel.
