Are we in paradise or Eden? We can imagine looking on to the waters a world without humankind other than an occasional fishing boat passing by. We turn our backs and look towards the resort designed in a U shape with an excellent integration of traditional crafted architecture.

The location on a former coconut plantation by the lake is idyllic. There is a complimentary sunset cruise on the lake in the evening. The traditional Kerala architecture is very beautiful.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The pool and the garden with beautiful trees and flowers are very well kept.
The chefs are doing a great job at offering a broad variety of delicious South Indian and North Indian cuisine. Desserts are a treat.

The property is in a beautiful location overlooking the backwaters. Clean and spacious home with everything you need. The owner and her family are especially lovely, her youngest daughter even taught us how to catch a fish in the river. The owner can organise any tours or boat rides you want. River fish is caught in the evening and served for dinner with delicious accompaniments. Breakfast is also very good.

The evening shikara ride was great for our group and was at the right price point - 2000 rupees for 2 hours for 2 families. The bird sanctuary was a big disappointment as there is not much to see and the facilities are also very poor - of the two bird watching towers one is damaged and other does not have a great view. Not many species of birds could be seen or heard, its more of a nature walk than a bird sanctuary.

As soon as we arrived it felt like Paradise.
As soon as we arrived it felt like Paradise. As the gates shut the noise and hustle bustle of an Indian town were left outside.
The beautiful old buildings in heritage style, lovely garden with trees and the only sound that of birdsong. It didn’t end there. All the staff from Vaisakh the Manager, Amal the Chef, the lady helping in the kitchen and the lady constantly sweeping the floors and working in the garden were helpful, courteous and always had a cheerful smile. The two men were happy to enter into conversations with us when they were not busy. They also responded immediately when asked for anything.
The food was delicious and well cooked but they found it amusing that we couldn’t handle the chillis in some of the dishes.
The pool was clean and cool and very welcoming in the heat.
We spent a very happy and relaxing week at Brookside Heritage Resort and it was the best place to start our Kerala adventure after a long and arduous journey from the UK. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in a property that gave us half-board meals (dinner and breakfast) and had in-house activities such as a sunset boat cruise and an evening cultural show. All this reinforced the kerala theme and made for a wonderful experience.

The backwaters are unique with water lilies and a wide variety of birds that can be viewed in a Shikara at dawn. A houseboat to spend the day and enjoy local cuisine served using fresh fish caught and sold by fisherwomen on the banks is a fabulous experience.

Kumarakom is a lovely back water locality, away from the hustle bustle of the city. Its a relaxing environment where you can disconnect from the busy world outside and yet if you need to get back to it, it's just nearby.
Away from it all.
If you want to have a holiday away from it all, then choose Backwater Breeze. The rooms overlooking the backwaters, the large sit-outs, topped up with homemade breakfast - just unbeatable. The cleanliness of the room and the toilets was of a very high standard. No disturbance from anybody, except the water birds and the procession of boats going up and down in the backwaters. Perfect place to unwind and recharge. Highly recommended.
We had chosen with breakfast and dinner included. Both were excellent with ample options for the entire family.
The location of the property, swimming pool, sunset cruise, evening tea by the Lady on the boat, the extra large and soft bed, the bathroom design, the overall cleanliness, the excellent Ayurvedic massage, the ever-helpful and always smiling staff in traditional Kerala attire.. the list of positives goes on.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Backwater Brooks in Kumarakom, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The staff were extremely cooperative, ensuring our comfort at every step. The resort's lakeside view was stunning, offering a serene backdrop to our stay. The facilities were top-notch, enhancing our overall enjoyment. I highly recommend Backwater Brooks for a peaceful getaway amidst nature's beauty.
Amazing high end resort hotel in Kumarakom! Slightly on the expensive side, it is still well worth the splurge with their service beyond exceptional! One feels very special and the staff is amazing with a lovely smile always! The well maintained pool is definitely the highlight and the lunch/dinner service exceeded expectations with a live performance at night as well!
this property has a wonderful ambience and the location is superb. The views from our room and all of the facilities is of the glorious lagoon with the lake beyond. There’s a wonderful restaurant, very nice work out facility and thriving Ayurvedic spa treatment area. There’s also a happy hour from 5 to 7 which is very good value in a lovely bar overlooking the lake.
My wife & I visited Little Chembaka from Australia for 3 nights & what a treat that was!
One of the owners, Vimal went absolutely above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
If you're after a genuine, local, proper foodie experience in the stunning Kumarakom backwaters we highly recommend this little gem.

Zuri Kumarakom provided a great vacation stay for the extended family. With 6 adults and 5 kids, all enjoyed the place alike. The staff and their hospitality is the place’s best feature. Rooms are spacious and are well equipped for a family, with all amenities. The Restaurant is great , with delicious cuisines.
The food was exceptional and great value for money. The lodge was also very clean and great for viewing the lakes animal activities especially in Lake View 5 lodge.
All staff were very helpful and soo welcoming!
The afternoon snacks and drink are a nice touch 👌
The whole place is very quite and relaxing
Coconut Lagoon is the best place in Kumarakom to stay. Perfect location - right on the backwater. You are transported to a world of verdent greenery, blue sky, gorgeous sunsets. the cottages are beautiful. the staff is very attentive andhelpful. I can't think of a better place for a holiday.
Location where the resort is situated is great. There are some great views.
Garden view cottage provides more privacy than the lake view cottages and I'd suggest opting for the former.
The bathroom has open ventilation and is a nice experience.
It was an awesome experience. The boat is well maintained and equipped with everything necessary and the staff was amazing. The chef cooked the best meals I have had in Kerala. It was extremely peaceful and fun. 10/10
Incredible experience! The staff made our stay memorable. We enjoyed the cooking sessions - a chance to share experiences while talking to interesting people and learning about Kerala cuisine. Highly recommend!
The property is very close to the lake. That is the main attraction and it has infinity pool.
They provide free, boat service in the lake, and also has cultural evening and good buffet breakfast.
We had a great time at Mango Kerala Homes. The rooms are super clean and confortable. The area is very beautiful, perfect for visiting the backwaters. The owners are very kind and helpful.
We stayed in one of the two Presidential suites. We loved having our own private swimming pool. The hotel grounds are lovely. Breakfast was good as was dinner in the Seafood restaurant.
Great staff, very friendly, kind, and accommodating. A nice houseboat cruise through the canals and backwaters. The food was very good and more than plentiful.
