Great location next to the lake, so you can cycle, run or walk on the excellent path. Staff were particularly helpful and pleasant. Nice warm pool, sauna and spar. They were happy to store my bike in their office. Loved the full Sky tv.

The room was the equivalent of an apartment. There was lots of living space.

Great eating out, some a little overpriced however.
Great eating out, some a little overpriced however. Monday is a very quiet night for eating out!
For a good unpretentious meal try Cobb and Co. The Vine has a vast range of goodies. The Indian restaurants are all good.

A very nice town.
A very nice town. Small enough to be charming, large enough to have many choices for nearby activities and dining. We stayed here as a base for seeing things in Rotorua as well which was only a hour drive away, though some of the best thermal parts near Rotorua are only 40 minutes away.

1-2 days maximum is more than enough. Food their is great and beautiful coffee, but do keep in mind everything is expensive as it is a tourist spot. Otherwise great location to visit. I visited Huka falls and Wairakei terrace hot pools which was an amazing experience.

Was not in Taupo long but what I saw looked good. Smaller town with a nice atmosphere. Plenty of places to eat, things to see and do. Getting around Taupo in peak hours is a challenge so time your travel.

We just wanted the best affordable accommodation as we were passing through to spend the day with family then returned again the next night. Loved having a comfortable and spacious hotel type room to relax in after a long drive.
This place is hidden gem in Taupo. we have stayed couple of places in Taupo but this is one was best . I would highly recommend to book your stay here. Lisa the host was wonderful, she made the converstation happen as if this was not the first time we met her . She is a beautiful kiwi lady. Place has got spectacular views and the way it is designed is so great, accomodates all you need. I wish i was there was few more days to enjoy the stay. Definetly highly recommend this vista on top of any motels or hotels you book.
Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They recommended activities in Taupo, good restaurants and breakfast places that were all amazing!
They helped us with our skydiving reservation and went out of their way to make sure we could get our jump.
Location is a few minutes walk away from the lakefront and the harbour can be reached in a 20~30 minutes very enjoyable walk.
The room was extremely clean and well furnished. Beds included a heated mattress which was the cherry on top for our nights!
This was a last-minute find after another booking cancelled due to Cyclone Gabrielle damage, and we were very pleasantly surprised to find it in such prime location right on Lake Taupo, with nice walking path at lake's edge, a nice pool, walking distance to restaurant at Two Mile Bay Sailing Club, short drive to downtown, and a spacious 2-story unit that felt like a nice apartment. Helpful management & staff. Wish we'd had more than one night to stay and enjoy this fabulous find!!
Fantastic location, only 5 minutes walk into the centre of Taupo. The motel was across the road from Lake Taupo with plenty of off road parking. The room was modern with a comfortable bed and a large bathroom. There was outside space to sit and have coffee and a lovely kitchen area with ample equipment. The couple who ran it were really lovely and when I left my travel wallet they checked everywhere and eventually found it and kept it safe until I returned to collect it.
The room was generally quiet, although the design of the hotel means that any noise in the corridor will reverberate through the room.
The room was large (beds for 3) and was fairly comfortable.
Check in was painless.
Bathrooms & kitchen were spotlessly clean & there was adequate utensils for preparation of meals.
Appreciated the undercover parking & the short walk to the main commercial area of Lake Taupo.
A recommended budget stay.
The room was a cozy studio - comfy and spacious; filled with everything that you could possibly need - cooking facilites, private bathroom and laundry facilities (washing machine, drying machine) and a large, soft bed.
Contactless check-in was super easy and being able to check-in was a bonus as we had to travel here after work.
ALSO THE VIEW FROM THE ROOM WAS AMAZING - it overlooks Lake Taupo and I could see Mt Ruapehu from my window!
We booked eMotel in a whim, we just needed a place to stay in Taupo on our way south. I'm happy to say we'd 100% stay again. The rooms are large, clean and for us anyway the added bonus of a washer/dryer. We made full use of that as we'd been traveling for a while. The motel is on a very quiet street only a minutes walk from stunning Lake Taupo. Super friendly owners, our only regret is we didn't stay longer.
Super friendly staff -- the owners run the place themselves -- and a delightful garden with space aplenty for all the guests. It's one block from the shore of Lake Taupo. The presence of geothermal hot water means that rooms have a spigot to their own quickly-filled patio hot tubs, which is an amenity like few I've ever encountered. The building itself is older and a bit creaky, but even that has its charm.
I love Taupõ and usually stay on the lake front, but was pleased with the grandeur.
It was warm, clean and easily accessible. Although the studios were close to each other, and each was occupied, it was silent. Couldn't hear a peep outside, nor from neighbours. My 75yr old mother was warm and comfy, so i was happy. Its not flash, but decent, and good value for money. I would definitely stay there again.
Great location for what we were in Taupo to do. Parking was off road and secure. Great access to the lake front walking track. View of the lake was obscured but nice. Pillows in the rooms were amazing and so comfortable. Great air conditioning in the room, which was definitely needed on this trip. Two bathrooms was great to accommodate different family members getting ready at the same time.
This is one of the best motels we have stayed in. It was modern, well maintained with quality fittings. The bed was excellent. The furniture in the spacious lounge was comfortable and the unit was air - conditioned. Right on the lake front in Taupo the unit we had was set back from the road so was quiet. We would definitely stay here again.
Great location by the lake for a walk in the morning. Great cafe too. Easy parking, easy check in. I've stayed a few times on business trips. Once it was a little bit noisy with other guests coming in loud and late, but that's not the hotel's fault. SUPER clean. One of my favorite Taupo hotels.
Our rooms faced towards the Lake. We had lovely views of the Mountains. The rooms were clean. The beds were ultra comfortable and the linen was of top hotel standard. Based By The Late is right in the heart of bars and restaurants in Taupo, so we didn't have to walk far.
This is a very quiet location in a South Taupo neighbourhood; easy walk down the hill to the lake pathway (3 km or so into centre of town) and the Botanical Reserve.
Great to have the washing machine & outdoor clothes line.
Really appreciated the muesli.
Location to lakefront swimming. Quaint room with frig. Good restaurant in Hotel proximity with a Nice view of lake Taupo.
Parking convenient.
Their jacuzzi was hot, great for after lake ( cold this Summer) swim. Which was appreciated.
Being across the road from the lake and easy walking distance into Taupo town center,
Malcolm was a great host and our double apartment was finished to a high standard.
We will definitely stay again when in Taupo.
The uninterrupted view over Lake Taupo from the room and its balcony was a real plus. The central location allowed exploration of the area on foot via the lakeside path. The unit was spacious and well heated.
Location is next to Lake Taupo and within walking distance to restaurants and convenience stores nearby (~5 to 10 minutes). Rooms were very clean with kitchen amenities. We rented a two-bedroom apartment.
Good value for money and walking distance to the lake and only 2km from Taupo town centre. Spacious rooms to fit everyone in the family nice and easy! Lovely lady at the reception.
Beautiful hotel, great location, amazing views over Lake Taupo and very peaceful. Everything is well sound proofed and warm. Spotlessly clean and everything in fantastic shape.
