Not a big city , nice places to eat, fantastic big country park , near to city centre, absolutely wonderful, donated by Andrew Carnegie. Easy rail or bus travel to major cities, fairly reasonable prices, but don’t use ScotRail app, get paper tickets.you can travel on the buses all day for £ 11.50 pp. by purchasing a east of Scotland day rider ticket, good value. Plenty of decent shops and supermarkets close to hotel, lovely big church and abbey ruins close by.

A gem of a city, and a secret that now the people of Edinburgh are cottoning onto. It's got a beautiful Heritage Quarter with loads of trendy bars, cafes and restaurants. Fantastic old buildings, a huge amount of history and one of the most beautiful parks in the world - Pittencrieff Park - is glorious. It really is like a mini-Edinburgh without the fuss and crowds, and such a lovely place to hang out.

I HAVE BEEN COMING TO DUNFERMILE FOR YEARS . THIS VISIT WAS TO SEE EDDIE READER AT THE ALHAMBRA. I WENT TO RAFFLES FOR A DRINK AND THEY SHARED CHEESE AND ONION TOASTIES . I DIDN'T NEED LUNCH. LATER IN THE EVENING I FOUND A WITHSPOONS . VERY FRIENDLY AND WELCOMING STAFF AND LOCALS . GREAT EVENING. IT WAS AROUND 2 WHEN I GOT BACK TO THE HOTEL. YOU WILL FIND A FEW HILLS WALKING AROUND . DRIVING CAN BE A NIGHTMARE IN THE OLD TOWN. YOU SEE MORE WHEN WALKING AROUND ALWAYS PLACES TO JUST SIT AND WATCH . We travelled to visit Knockhill Racing Circuit for a booked experience day. Arrived on a lovely sunny day so decided to visit Pittencrief park on our way to the hotel (Adamson Hotel in crossford) where we had a great walk around the park and encountered many of the beautiful sights including the squirrels. All in all a wonderful visit and we will definitely be back at some point in the (hopefully not too distant) future

We had the best week's holiday in this wonderful little hotel. Yasmin and her staff could not have been more helpful.or welcoming. The room was large and airy with a very large and comfortable bed. The shower was good with strong water pressure and plentiful hot water. Limekilns is a great place from which to explore Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrew's. We had some very good evening meals in Dunfermline when the cafe at Coorie was shut. The breakfasts at Coorie were just brilliant. Can't recommend this lovely hotel highly enough

Breakfast was fabulous, free range sausages, bacon and eggs cooked to perfection by owner Brent. Cereal, juice, fruit and yoghurt on offer as well as toast tea and coffee all for £8.50 per head. Although we travelled from Newcastle to Inverkeithing station there was Dunfermline station right behind Auld Mill. Short taxi ride though. Pub 15 minute walk from hotel doing excellent food as no evening meals available though there is a small friendly bar in hotel. I will definitely be back to Auld Mill in near future.

We had a great stopover stay at Auld Mill House Hotel! The owner is an absolute joy to talk to and has a wealth of knowledge of what is happening in the city. He makes you feel right at home! On a tip from him we were able to snag some of the last tickets available for the Red Hot Chilli Pipers as well as see a cool little pub! Breakfast was made fresh and was the best we have had on our entire trip. I’d not hesitate to book a room here again on future trips!

The hotel was very well located within the town centre , and only a few minutes walk from.the alhambra theatre , where we were attending an event . The check in was very good and we were shown all the way to our room by the member if staff. Although we didn't use the dining facilities, the menu looked very substantial, and the dining areas looked stunning .
