Only 2 miles from Anchorage International Airport and near Dena'ina Convention Center, this Alaska hotel provides a free airport shuttle service, comfortable guest rooms and an on-site restaurant.
Rooms were clean, bright, comfortable and updated.
The whole place is run down and shabby. The draperies had holes, the phone was dirty, and the TV controls were sticky. I was afraid of bedbugs but the linens were clean. There were homeless right outside our window playing rap music on loudspeakers. Very sketchy people staying at the hotel. The shuttle drivers were nice, but the desk guy wasn't friendly. It was a very depressing place. Definitely not worth the money. Ramada should be ashamed.

We just had one day to sightsee.
We just had one day to sightsee. We did the city trolley tour in the morning, hosted by a local with excellent knowledge of the city and Alaska generally; it is worth going on the longer trolley tour so you can get off the bus for photos etc.
In the afternoon an out of town tour by “escape anchorage.com” was also excellent and made a good contrast to the city tour, and was good value at $129.
If we had had longer we would have hired bikes to cycle the coastal trail, visited the museum and done a longer trip to one of the national parks.
Restaurants were good - we went to Ginger and 49th State Brewing (both bar / restaurants) and would recommend both. There is plenty to do - but do check the weather, and also Alaska’s 35 different species of mosquitoes (we didn’t see any in mid May)!

We did not have an opportunity to view much of Anchorage as we were headed to Wasilla to visit family. We did eat at the Arctic Roadrunner in Anchorage, which is a very popular burger restaurant; the burgers were great! We stayed at the Hyatt in Anchorage, which is only 8 minutes from the airport. We'd recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be close to the airport and have a great hotel/restaurant to visit. Directions to the airport were fairly straight forward; there was very little traffic mid-morning Sunday.

Very easy to get around but I recommend a rental car. Lots to see but some of the locations are definitely within driving distance. Alyeska Resort is a must. Tram rail and seven glacier restaurant is very impressive.

I came specifically for the Alaska Winter Train Ride from Anchorage to Fairbanks. It was a breathtaking beautiful ride! I am planning future trips back to Alaska to take more train tours.
The hotel shuttle driver and another hotel guest recommended the seafood chowder at Forty Ninth State Brewing in downtown Anchorage. The driver offered to take me. I ordered the Alaskan seafood chowder with a lager loaf, a garden salad and their "award winning" smoked wings. Bingo! The seafood chowder was delicious with chunks of seafood in a very flavorful creamy broth! It was very good and the lager loaf was scrumptious. Together they made a great combo!
I can see why the "award winning" smoked wings got an award...they were delicious, even cold, the next day!
Customer service here was top shelf. Kristaleigh took my order and made the recommendations for the wings and lager loaf. She was delightful and professional! Overall, it was a very warm environment and pleasant interaction.
Hats off to the chef/cook at the Lakefront Anchorage Hotel restaurant. I spent one night here and ordered take out. I ordered two salmon tacos (scrumptious and very tasty) and steamed veggies which were flavorful and steamed just right! The bartender who took my order was very helpful and professional. Great customer service!

Alaska is so beautiful but Anchorage doesn't show that at all. The city is so gloomy and is not properly taking care of its people. We did find a few good bars and pubs, but walking around on the street just made us sad. Recommend only staying in Anchorage for activities outside of the city (visit Whittier or go hiking in Chugach State Park!) or to pass through on your next adventure to Denali, Fairbanks, Kenai etc. One activity worth doing in Anchorage is the coastal trail, by bike or by foot, you'll definitely spot an eagle or a moose!
This hotel is within walking distance to downtown Anchorage and the walk is picturesque and safe.
If you get to downtown Anchorage and enjoy Asian fusion food, you MUST eat at Ginger on 5th! The food was sublime, we kept going back!
The Anchorage Trolley Tour is $20 and well worth the money. Cyrus and his team are everything you'd expect a tour to be: engaging, information and fun... and funny!
Fun fact: the Inlet was one of a handful of buildings to survive the 1969 earthquake that dropped part of the city 40 feet!
Great location. We were able to park on the street, car had to be moved by 9:00 am the next morning which was better than paying the valet fee. Downtown is only about a 10 minute drive from the airport and more restaurants to walk to. We had cocktails and appetizers in upper bar which was very pricey. We booked here very last minute as the hotel I had booked previously for the night cancelled 5 days prior on me. Very clean room and very comfortable bed. Great historical hotel. I would stay there again.
My family of nine stayed in three spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms. Management personnel were very pleasant and helpful. We just stayed for one night between arrival at the airport and driving to Denali, but if we were staying in Anchorage longer, then this hotel would be a great choice. The price was excellent. I am not used to sharing a bathroom in hotels here in the states but it was not a problem. There were plenty of bathrooms and they were clean.
Breakfast was filling.
Room was big and very comfortable.
The bed was excellent and I would like to stay there again.
The shuttle bus service was exceptional, for around town transport and trip from the hotel to the airport. Both hotel staff and the drivers went above and beyond to make our movements around town as seamless as possible.
I would recommend this hotel to others on the basis of the shuttle service alone.
Alaska (and Anchorage) can be particularly challenging for service oriented businesses like hotels. Workers can drop off the face of the earth, supplies can vanish etc. The Hyatt Place somehow rises above this chaos (with repetitive attention to detail) with an amazingly friendly staff who manage expectations while knowing full well that the carpet could get yanked out from beneath their feet with no warning.
The hotel is very central in Downtown Anchorage. Many Restaurants are nearby. It is an older building, a historic hotel.
Rooms are spacious, only the bathrooms are a little small.Everything is very clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast is basic. Would recommend it especially for the central location.
I liked that there was a free shuttle available to take me both to and from the airport and downtown if and when I needed it. Anthony was also very courteous and friendly. The shuttle picked me up in a timely matter after my arrival at the airport and let me check in early, and it wasn't too far from downtown Anchorage.
Room was very spacious with a small sitting/work area, kitchnette, refidgerator.
Very comfortable bed/mattress and pillows. Nice view of the park behind the hotel.
Good TV and wifi service.
Fairly conveniently located to downtown (walking distance).
Good breakfast (hot and continental) with friendly service.
The apartment was clean and comfortable with plenty of hot water and heating. The kitchen was well equipped for basic needs.
The staff were very helpful when we had an issue checking in.
The location wasn't luxurious but was a good base from which to explore downtown Anchorage and only $10 in an Uber.
Our king suite was spacious and nicely appointed. Very functional. The included breakfast was quite adequate and good. Since we returned a car to the airport and had a flight out of Anchorage the next day, proximity to the airport was important to us. The shuttle drivers were great.
I waited for more than a half hour to have someone come to the front desk and check me in. I called the hotel to get the shuttle to pick me up at the airport and no one answered the phone for more than a half hour. I paid for a cab from the airport to the hotel
Room is very spacious, has kitchenette which is very helpful. Downtown location allows one to walk around and to bike rental place (near bike trail) . Free Parking helps
Near Alaska Railroad, which is convenient if one needs to take the train
This is probably the best value hotel in Anchorage. Hotel rooms here run 3 to 4 times as expensive as the same room would be in the lower 48. This hotel was actually reasonably priced, convenient, safe, and comfortable.
Really friendly welcome and exceptionally friendly host. Fabulous location if you are getting up early for the Alaska Railroad. It's literally an easy 5 minute walk. Close to downtown restaurants and shops.
Friendly staff. Check in/out easy even at odd times.
Good price for Anchorage in the summertime.
Close to downtown, airport, train depot.
Entryway and front lobby are well lit.
breakfast was okay, coffee was great, it was last minute decision to book a hotel due to jet turning around and causing us to stay longer in Anchorage.
