An not overcrowded beach is very close, and so is the Bus Station for the Bus from Chania.
The house has an very nice rooftop terrace with a view to the sea. Nice restaurants and also supermarkt are close.
Full recommendation to this place if you wanna join the sea and not being in the middle of overtouristic places.

I think it is not a 5 start hotel.
I think it is not a 5 start hotel.
The rooms have no noise cancellation from the outside world.
The humidity is high and they look different than the picstures in booking.
They are probably 3-4 star bungalows not hotel rooms.

The hotel was lovely with very good all inclusive.
The hotel was lovely with very good all inclusive. The TV dosen't show English channels except for BBC News. Right on the beach with the hotel providing free sun beds & unbrellas. The sea was very cold & the beach very course. Not much in the village. You will need a car to get around or a taxi.

The owner is a very lovely lady. She even let me stay over the check out time on my last day, which was just perfect! It is by the seaside so the view is very pretty! You can also go to the little greek town center by foot. The beach is also very close and tavernas too. Supermarket is 1min away by car so the location is perfect!

Kalyves is a traditional Cretan seaside town, with so many good & well priced tavernas to choose from. Our favourites were Elena's and Mythos, both right by the sea. The beaches are lovely and clean and not too busy.
We have been visiting Kalyves on and off since 1990 and it really hasn't changed that much in all this time - it has the same charm now as it did then.

Travelled early May and loved the very relaxed feel to the village. Lots of places to eat delicious Greek food all reasonably priced. Lots of shops and supermarkets. Nice sandy beach too. Drinks in the bars were very reasonable and there were bakeries which opened early morning so you can buy freshly made pastries for breakfast. Totally delightful place.
Superb location - right on the beach! It is not the main beach, so it is not too busy, and you could find a free lounger most of the time.
It is not a luxury hotel, but simple, clean and well equipped. We hardly cooked for ourselves though, because there are many cheap restaurants within walking distance, which offer good Greek cuisine.
Kalyves is an authentic Greek village, within easy reach of Chania and Rethymno and a good starting point for many day trips in Western Crete.
Totally recommend - but do get a sea view room!
Beautiful brand new building with amazing views of Kalyves and the ocean. Very well stocked with extra towels and bedding, etc. The staff were all very kind and attentive - Artemis greeted us the first morning and was so helpful with everything, including offering suggestions for sorting out my son's luggage that was lost by the airline and giving us restaurant recommendations. We made amazing family memories at this stunning property!
Nice and breezy, location is up on abit of a hill, without an actual address……so we had a bit of a problem finding it. Has a little short walk down a path to the beachfront. Definitely not for anyone with walking difficulties. Great little grass area in front overlooking ocean.
Anna and her husband do a lovely job with ambiance of this place! Candles lit at night, peaceful!
Very helpful owners, size of the apartment, individual terrace with sea view and a washing machine for our mid-holiday needs.
We had a perfect stay that helped us discovering a new to us region. Natasa was very helpful.
In Kalyves we could also recommend the restaurant Mythos, were we had several great and affordable dinners.
The hotel is in a good location, near the beach and the center of the village. The room was comfortable and perfectly clean, the pool and the bars were very relaxing. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Dimitra who always welcome you with a big smile and has suggestions on where to go around the area.
Location is great and right by the sea 50m.
The apartment is well maintained, everything you need is inside with a terrace for nice breakfast with sea wave sounds. Kitchen well equipped.
Morning walks on the beach to Kalyves area are dhort, fun, and refreshing and a great start for any day.
It is located in quiet location. When going to beach, that is quite close and very nice, you need to walk on main road so be careful. Unless you use car, it is possible to walk to close Almyrida or Kalyves for restaurants and shops. Beaches at both villages are a bit crowded but not so bad.
Clean, spacious home that is walking distance to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The hosts were nice. Kitchen is big, modern, and has everything you need to make full meals at home. The bathroom is modern, with a nice hot shower. Plus, the home has a full-size washer and dryer.
The town of Kalyves is a decent base for a Crete holiday, with local fishmonger, butchers, bakers and many other real local shops and services in addition to the usual tourist facilities. Nine of the restaurants were particularly any good. The air conditioning worked.
It is really close to the beach, 20steps., free umbrellas. Beautiful garden, nice pool, very kind stuff. Big supermarket in a 100 meters, with a bus stop to Chania or Almyrida. The big, well equipped appartman was clean and big, with sea an garden view.
we have stayed here 5 times and it really is the best location in Kalyves. You walk out the back door down a little path and you are on the beach which is gorgeous. Very near to Tavernas and shops. Comfortable rooms and lovely balcony.
Lovely little house, in great spot to access beach’s and cafes in Kalyves. Host was very friendly and helpful. Water and breakfast provided on arrival. Thank you! Our kids were enchanted by the local cats. We would definitely return!
Everything. This hotel was absolutely amazing. From the working AC, beautiful balcony and staff, they didn't miss one detail! Loved the restaurant downstairs just as much as the hotel itself. Thank you for making it a wonderful stay!
Good location, easy pubic transport to Chania one way and Rethymno/Heraklion the other.
On beach with plenty of loungers.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Food choices for everyone in the buffet (inc vegetarian).
Comfortable bed 😊
We travelled with a 13yr old and 8 yr old, resort so safe so they could be independant.Maisonette room brillant so we had a bit of space.Hotel beautiful and staff lovely.Location on beach great, plenty to do if not relaxing.
Fantastic place just a short walk to a lovely beach spot. Nice location just outside of Kalives. So we could get away from the traffic of the beach goers.
Owner was amazing and accommodating.
I will be back.
Amazing location , the beach right in front .
Amazing staff , very friendly and professional.
You have everything near if you require to buy anything, or rent a car .
A peaceful spot with sea views in Kalyves. We chose to stay here rather than Chania, and it was a nice little town with good beaches and great food options.
