The postcode on Google maps sends you to Kell Lane, which is unnecessary . I didn't check for a what 3 words, but expect it would have been more accurate . Ended up at Shibden Hall Inn and had a coffee there , before eventually finding my way back to stump cross
Just 3 miles from Halifax, this family-run 17th-century inn has an award-winning restaurant offering excellent locally sourced food and a cosy bar. There is free Wi-Fi and traditional log fires.

The room was really comfortable, the breakfast and dinner delicious. The hotel had a very friendly feel to it.

Very clean, well organised room. Everything to hand . Not huge but very adequate for our needs and much as it looks in the above picture . Next door to an amazing restaurant . Nicely prepared breakfast .

I love this area but there again, I'm biased as I was brought up here.
Sowerby Bridge is gritty and unpretentious and the surrounding scenery is just stunning.
It has some good pubs and eateries - have a look at the area down by Moorings - and it's only a few minutes by rail into Halifax or half an hour in the other direction to Hebden Bridge.
The train trip is worth it for the lovely scenic journey though the Calder Valley alone.
(You might recognise Sowerby Bridge railway station and its environs from Series 2 of Happy Valley)

It is a lovely area but I do not recommend the town itself to stay in - there are nicer villages/towns in the area and places on the hills above the town which would appeal to people more. No great restaurants as far as I could see or experienced. A slight air of decay/poverty is prevalent.

If you like industrial heritage and don't need to be told what your looking at SB is very interesting. We can also recommend both the Moorings pub for food and The Puzzle Hall Inn for beer and live music. If you like walking and steep hills, Norland opposite SB is for you

Wouldn’t go especially into Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge much nicer.
Although a bit of a drive Harewood House a must, and a trip to Harrogate and Bettys for afternoon tea, expensive, but a great experience..

Most of the 'tourist' interest is near the canal basin and locks. The rest is a fairly utilitarian town, but close to outstandingly beautiful countryside. We missed the annual Rushcart Festival, but it looks as if it would be a good time to visit.

Visited Dean Clough Mills and had lunch at True North which had excellent service and a very good lunchtime menu. Then we visited Shibden Hall,pre-book if possible.
Evening meal at Timujin Mongolian which had good service and excellent food
Fabulous service and breakfast at our accommodation The Rushcart Inn.
Next morning we visited The Piece Hall in Halifax, which had a live festival in the evening.
Good inside space in the Inn and a large covered terrace outside. The rooms were large with good ensuite bathrooms. Comfortable beds and very nice decor.
Martin, his wife and his mum all welcomed us during our stay.
The breakfast was excellent with a large full English available.
Cheap and easy taxi access to the main Street in Sowerby Bridge which has a good selection of pubs and restaurants. We used the Temujin Mongolian which was excellent and very affordable.
Unfortunately the hotel decided to cancel our booking on route to facilitate guests that arrived earlier!
I booked this a a xmas present...we luckily found somewhere else...by good luck.
This nearly spoilt a gig we had planned almost six months in advance over an hour drive from our address
Poor service i am afraid.
Stylish decoration, lovely facilities and staff. It exceeded my expectations completely. I don’t usually travel for work but on holiday I always stay in 5 star hotels , usually Waldorf Astoria or fairmont hotels. I was not expecting much from this but it was lovely and I will happily return
Perfect apartment. Quirky, modern and cosy. Lovely wet room shower, great facilities Inc dishwasher. Really well thought out and exceptional value. Some nice pubs in Ripponden and 5 mins to Sowerby Bridge and easy access to Hebden Bridge.
I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels over the years but this one is near the top. Some of the best service I’ve received and the food is top quality catering for all my needs. Highly recommended this place and will hopefully be back!
The rooms were lovely and in a good location to visit Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge and Halifax. The breakfast basket was a nice touch. The food in restaurant was lovely.
All staff very friendly and welcoming. Location excellent although the small lanes driving up to hotel are bit scary.
Breakfast was delish and lunch and evening meal.
