We loved the beautiful hotel and the surroundings, the pool area was lovely and we specifically loved lounging on the day beds. The hotel was very clean, the food was delicious and varied, I liked that it was a la carte rather than buffet. We mainly ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner then for lunch we used the snack bar by the pool and ordered to our day bed. It is a super relaxing and chill hotel, they do play music all day which we loved. There isn’t anything in walking distance to the hotel so really it is a time to switch off and enjoy. Because the hotel isn’t huge, it gives the opportunity to get to know the other guests if you want to and also the staff who were fabulous and the room was just incredible. We would return in a heart beat, we have been travelling around Mexico for a month and by far this is our favourite hotel.

Nice, secluded location, surrounded by wetlands with lots of wild nature. In many places around the resort you can find plates with the pictures and names of animals you may come across. On the opposite side of the road are the older hotels belonging to the Ventus resort, what includes number of restaurants, bars, swimming pools and the beach. Very nice little town - Puerto Morelos along with a nice public beach is located a few minutes of drive from the resort (the beach of the nearby Ventus resorts has been affected by some storms and lacks a bit of charm... and sand).
Situated only 50 metres from the beach, the Ojo del Agua Hotel offers guests free Wi-Fi in public areas, an on-site diving and snorkeling store and massage service.

Easily the best place to stay if you are in Quintana Roo. It is too bad that we only had two nights booked, but it was the best hotel experience we've ever had. The breakfast was simply amazing and rich. The restaurant was really delicious. They also had a private cenote which was a great addition to the overall experience. I would highly recommend having a rent-a-car if you are staying here, as this is the only convenient way of transportation (in Quintana Roo in general). We would definitely stay here next time we are in Quintana Roo.

The welcome was very friendly and personal - perhaps a little too extensive for us staying only one night but perfect for people staying longer. Nice, large and clean room with a quiet AC. There was even a small tub on our balcony. Staff was very accommodating, a problem of the beeping hotplate in the cooking area was fixed immediately. The pool is nice and it is only a few steps to the beach. Breakfast on the roof terrace was perfect

Puerto Morelos is a small yet vibrant town with heaps of options for everyone, from families of all sizes and ages to singles or couples who want to party or have a great time by the beach. Almost same distance from Cancun and Playa del Carmen, close to the route of the Cenotes and Super Markets.
Cultural events happening very often at the main plaza and they have a few local markets to go to and enjoy some souvenir shopping. Amazing food EVERYWHERE!

Loved it when we started going to shop there from an all inclusive more than 10 years ago. So started staying there instead. First couple years were great. Then COVID for 2 years. Since then we have been going usually twice year. But this time (April 2024) noticed how it’s gone from laidback, mostly authentic town to tourist centered with a lot of building. Used to have building rules that no higher than 3 stories. That has definitely either changed or been ignored. Still nice place, just changing into a smaller (so far) of Playa del Carmen.

Puerto Morelos is a hidden gem! Very clean, quaint and relaxed! The beach area is pristine and the water is exactly that Caribbean azure blue green! There's lots going on but it doesn't seem busy. Very chill - happy vibes! Gorgeous sunshine and a warm breeze! Tons of choice for food and drink, tours, and necessities. Pretty perfect!

Lovely little village with some local character, where there are some local people, not just tourists. Perfect location for everything: snorkelling, the airport, cenotes, local attractions, and yet much more relaxed and low key than most other places on the coast.

This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful.
This ""Deluxe Double Ocean View" room was awful. NO furniture except for the bed and ONE wooden chair. We had to put our luggage on the floor. NO closet or hangers. NO bottled water - which should be a given for any Mexican hotel. So glad we were only there for two nights and then could escape to our place in Akumal. We do love Puertos Morelos and the restaurant on-site at the hotel helped make up for our miserable stay.
LAST time we book with Booking.com.

Puerto Morelos is a quiet, laid back town that tries to provide both modern conveniences, while maintaining its ethnic culture. The restaurants were plentiful and the food was well prepared. If you are staying on the beach side, everything was within walking distance. (The bookstore was a pleasant surprise.) This is not a party town. Most of the visitors are middle aged and hail from the USA and Canada. For us, this was the perfect place to relax.
Jin, Mariela, and the rest of the team at Abbey del Sol were incredibly warm, welcoming, and helpful. They gave us lots of tips for things to do, how to do them, etc. The hotel itself was so beautiful: both the room and the pool area which is nice and sunny in the mornings and shaded in the afternoons. And Puerto Morelos is adorable! We loved exploring the restaurants, beach clubs, and shops that this quaint little town had to offer. And we're so glad we did it from Abbey del Sol! You really can't beat the value for the price.
The staff is absolutely amazing. I arrived and already had stomach issues and Luis, the manager personally drove me to a pharmacy and a supermarket.
Also I am vegetarian, so the kitchen staff created something for me every evening.
again, super nice staff, especially Luis, Wendy, Victor and Edgar. the maid cleaned my clothes for a fair price, she was also lovely!
rooms super spacious, all rooms have sea view and big balconies, big TVs with Netflix.
small and private hotel, really liked it.
Location on the beach was great! The family villa downstairs was clean and quite nice. Ernesto was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend a massage onsite. You’re relaxing outside in the breeze listening to the waves in the ocean. The beach club restaurant served the most tender perfectly seasoned and cooked steak. All the food was excellent. Will definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel is within walking distance to several restaurants, shops, and activities.
The direct ocean-view ample balcony was Amazing! Also, the on-site restaurant called Muelle Once is Fabulous! It also had a gorgeous, direct ocean-view + the menu had a variety of food options and good sizes for the price. Hotel and restaurant staff were all very courteous and attentive :) The location of the property was excellent, very close to the main plaza in Downtown Puerto Morelos and right across the street from an upscale and well-stocked Chedraui supermarket.
Hotel Amar Inn was located on a lovely white sand beach and only a short 10 minute walk from the many restaurants, bars and shops of Puerto Morelos. They provided beach chairs which was a real bonus. The room was a good size with excellent air conditioning and a plentiful supply of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was interesting, not only offering fresh fruit, fresh juice but a different typical Mexican breakfast dish each day. The staff were welcoming and helpful.
Wonderful staff. Great vibe. Very peaceful spot,. great kitchen. Puerto Morelos is another "riviera maya" tourist shitpit but this place is not part of that culture. Loved the nesting turtles and the balcony overlooking the sea. The mattresses were old and not very clean. No soap was provided. Otherwise, room, sheets and towels were very clean. No AC BTW, which was fine with us sea breeze was great. The staff and turtles made the stay more than worth it.
We stayed in Lunita 2 nights at the end of our holiday in different points of Mexico and decided just to stay and relax - it was great, quiet and owners and staff were extremely kind. Beach and several cenotes nearby. Breakfast, food and drinks also very good. Excellent, spacious rooms. We were contacted before arriving to have the relevant arrival instructions - we arrived at night without any difficulty. A new Hotel, we wish all the success!
As I was travelling solo
I lived the breakfast.. Helping yourself and cooling Yr eggs ect.
The staff were so friendly and felt like a little community.
The hotel was so quiet just what I needed from travelling through Mexico.
I would highly recommend this hotel
And so easy to get to the more lively places in Puerto Merelos.
I will definitely be back
This is such a nice hotel. I don't usually travel in resorts, so it was a treat. It had excellent WIFI. the rooms were spacious and the pools were stunning. The staff was friendly and the complimentary mini bar came with 7 bottled waters, 6 beers, 3 diet coke, 3 coke, 3 sprite and 3 seltzers. Coffee is also provided in the room.
Charming, old Mexico feel, steps away from the plaza, restaurants, shopping, and of course, the beach. The pool is small but refreshing, and the breakfast had something for everyone. Refrigerator in the room and easy access to drinking water (on each floor). the bathroom had a washcloth—useful but not found in all hotel rooms.
This was a perfect place to relax and enjoy the ocean views. It is a small hotel and EVERY room has a ocean view. There’s not a bad room on the property. The staff were very friendly and answered all my questions. They even arranged for an in room Covid test and an early taxi to the airport.
We came there for relax on a private beach - and we have it :) Except that staff was excellent, hotel had it's own small pool, we had a fridge and a microwave in the room which, in fact, was newly renovated so in general we can't complain about anything.
The location was perfect, right on the beach and very near all the restaurants. The room was very well air conditioned and the fridge in the room was nice and cold. The manager was very friendly and pleasant
The location was great for the seclusion, however, it is necessary to take cabs back and forth to town. If you have no concerns about this additional cost, and want a quiet place on the beach, its great!
Safety, close to beach and everything, staff, the whole ambiance. I love boutique hotels with a flare and homey charm. a great stay for me. wish it could have been longer.
