Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants.
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants. There are several lifts nearby (one in town) that will take one up to beautiful views, kid friendly play areas and extensive walking/hiking trails.
A car isn’t necessary, but highly recommended, as Sesto is 6-7 km from the train station and getting further afield is much more convenient with a car than by using buses/shuttles.
Several of the most popular areas to visit have restricted access and it is best to check restrictions, book early (if possible), and get to the trailhead/parking lot/etc. early.
We were there during early July. Low season and ski season are probably different in interesting ways.

Its ok if you just need a place to crash in between a long trip... But nothing more.
The hotel is literally a parking lot on steroids. But still, a freaking parking lot for caravans. The food was really bad and worst the waiters. If you book the room with the dinner included you just lost yourself 35bucks.
Over all the spa was good enough. Some of the treatments were closed due to issues with the corona virus. But in general well designed and relaxing. Of course there were little or no people because of the virus fear. which make it all better for us as we had the pool for ourself.

We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us.
We went for the mountains and they didn’t disappoint us. To get to the highest peaks requires some stamina and some technique (via feratta). The flowers in July are superb. There are many mountain biking routes in the area but we didn’t partake.

Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction.
Go to Sesto! Picturesque beauty in every direction. Accommodations and great restaurants are abundant and so many trails. A quick trip to Austria is just an hour or two away. True, the locals are not as warm and fuzzy as those effusive Italians we met in Pisa, Florence, Arezzo, or Piesa de Preciano (5 new FB friends!!!!) but you just can't beat the Dolomiti for sheer beauty! And it's COOLER.
We had a beautiful stay at Hotel Gruber. The staff is going out of their way to make you feel pleasant and comfortable. I really can't compliment them enough.
The location of the hotel is amazing, the view of the Sesto Dolomites from the terrace can't be bitten. Also, the dinner is great, with a superb variety of dishes. Everything we tried was delicious.
We will be sure to come back.
We were in the less expensive accommodation over the road but we had access to all of the facilities in the main hotel. The swimming pool and spa facilities were excellent. All meals were delicious, they were ample with great choices. The staff were excellent and I would love to return to stay for longer another time.

Fantastic hotel in an excellent location. Staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient. We came across it by chance and will definitely return! The views from our room were lovely and there is easy access to numerous trails, close to 3 Zinnen and the Pragser Wildsee.
Hotel is on the great location near skilifts and city center. Room is greatly designed in the modern alpine style and new. It is a standard size for the hotel room. From the facilities there is only skiroom, dont expect spa. I would recomend Riega for skiers.
The hotel is right in the center of Sesto. The room was very clean and overall confortable (although a little small). The bathroom was big enough and clean. The breakfast was good with a mix of sweet and salty buffet.
Everything was amazing for a family. Highly recommend for any family wanting to go skiing, great accomodations, spa, pool, heated pool, ski in ski out best spot in Sesto, and personnel top notch. We will be back.
Big bathroom, lots of places to stove belongings, swimming pool and hot tub, dogs welcome (for a price), hiking trails right by the hotel, free parking, sweet staff and cleaning lady.
The hotel is 600 meters close to the slope. Good cookies for breakfast. Family room spacious and clean. Free sauna and hydro. Nice pub Mühle on the other side of the road
