0% good 100% bad.
0% good 100% bad. Drugged homeless people begging for booze money. Police do nothing to arrest and detain them. Crime like rape and assault everywhere. Litter everywhere, people spit and throw gum on the ground. Road rage and car crashes, shoplifting in grocery stores. Just don't stay here, Tauranga is way better. No good places in Auckland at all. Ate food in pizza hut. Never easy to move around because buses and trains get cancelled. Never any good activities for solo travelers.Guest review byEunsungNew Zealand - 10.0

We used Uber for all our inner city trips, it was so easy to get around. The 3 hour bus tour of the city was a highlight, the guide Hamish was excellent. We ate dinner at Grazie Italiano at Double Tree By Hilton, it was superb, food, service, the whole nine yards. Te Papa was good but The Gallipoli exhibit was closed as was the cable car both of which we would have loved to visit.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Rotorua is an incredible destination, blending natural beauty with unique cultural experiences. The geothermal activity is astonishing—visiting the geysers and hot springs is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The scent of sulfur can be strong at times, but you get used to it quickly, and it's part of Rotorua's unique charm. I loved exploring the Redwood Forest, which offers fantastic walking and biking trails surrounded by towering trees. Maori cultural experiences here are authentic and enlightening—the evening village tours and hangi feasts are not to be missed. There are plenty of adventure options too, like zorbing, mountain biking, and relaxing in the hot pools. The city is easy to navigate, with friendly locals and lots of cafes and restaurants offering a great variety. Overall, Rotorua exceeded my expectations and I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting New Zealand!Guest review byAbhijeetNew Zealand - 10.0
We had an amazing meal at Embra - top class.
We had an amazing meal at Embra - top class. Also a good meal at Lionels on the lakefront. We walked along the Lions walk which runs along the side of the lake then went shopping in town. We were lucky with the weather, being a freezing cold overnight temperatures but stunning sunny blue sky days. We enjoyed a beautiful soak in the Wairakei Thermal Terraces one day and I thrashed my husband at minigolf the next. So all in all it was a great place to stay. There are plenty of adventure activities to do for families and of course it is only about an hour to the snowfields of Ruaphehu. A fantastic destinationGuest review byClareNew Zealand - 10.0

We were in PN because of treatment at the hospital for recently diagnosed cancer. On discharge from the hospital we choose to go to the cafe Thyme and Fig. We spotted a car park right outside the cafe. Perfect as my wife had a catheter in tow and was wearing her pyjama bottoms. When we had hydrated we decided to head home to Greytown. You guessed it- we got a parking fine. I'm afraid that soured our stay in PN. We were frassled and never thought about a parking infringement. There are no parking meters in Greytown so it certainly wasn't on our radar. I'm astounded that the fine is $70. That is steep for pensioners.Guest review bySueNew Zealand - 10.0

We visited just for one day with my elderly mother in a wheelchair. We took her around Brooklands zoo (free/optional donation) which was great. She also loved Pukekura gardens. The coastal walkway was also perfect for wheelchairs (care needed on railway crossings). Mount Taranaki was absolutely stunning with its snowy peak.Guest review byLizNew Zealand - 10.0

If you want to have a quite holiday exploring Tauranga go there in the off season say June to september .otherwise the summer is great but very busy . Tauranga city was surprising quite and has many easy to get to walking areas . No real sign of homeless people that the larger cities have .Guest review byDarrylNew Zealand - 8.0

National Park Village is a great jumping-off spot for skiing Whakapapa. It was easy to jump on a shuttle up to the ski field, grab some last minute gear from the local ski hire and we had a lovely apre-ski meal at a local restaurant (there were a couple of options to choose from). The petrol station/convenience store has everything you need for a short stay.Guest review byJoNew Zealand
