All was wonderful including the politeness and attentiveness of the cleaning professionals. The front area people were attentive, friendly, insiteful and helpful in every way. The valets were great. Breakfast wonderful. I really enjoyed the location of my room. The little happy hour fit the bill and certainly the dog friendliness of the hotel added to the overall charming ambience. Arras definitely was a major plus for my stay in Asheville.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and perfectly appointed...good pillows and bedding. Nice floor space overall and good window coverings, filtered light well without being starkly bright or dark.

People we met throughout the city were friendly and welcoming. They seemed ready to accommodate tourists with open arms. We recommend taking a walking tour to get a sense of the city and its history. Biltmore was fabulous-even in the rain. The staff at Biltmore went out of their way to resolve an unexpected issue we encountered. Asheville deserves its reputation as a "foodie town." We didn't allocate enough time to see and do all we wanted.

There are a lot of weird, nasty looking people around, comprised of a variety of dirty homeless people, hippies, and sexual deviants. They generally keep to themselves, however, and we always felt safe exploring Asheville's many fine attrations.

Asheville is a beautiful city with friendly people and lots to do. No one I've ever talked to has had anything but the best things to say about this town! Everything is compact and easy to get to. We ate at Ida's Bistro - food was good, dessert was great, but service was not so good (server didn't know the specials and then presented them badly, he seemed indifferent. We heard the manager describe the same specials to the table next to ours and the description sounded Sooooo much better!). We also had dinner at the Bistro at Biltmore's Antler Hill Village. Was a little pricey, but the quality of the food was really great, and the service spot-on.

This was our first visit to Asheville due to attending a wedding. We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel in the Downtown area and everything was in an easy 3-4 block walking distance. We had no idea that this area was such a gem as a foodie place with the diverse selection of good restaurants (Spanish, French, Japanese, Brasilian, Italian, Mexican etc.), wine bars, craft breweries and interesting stores and shops plus the history with the Vanderbilt family influence as well as the four nearby colleges/universities. This is a fun place that we intend to return to in the future.

Absolutely lovely town with warm and friendly people.
Absolutely lovely town with warm and friendly people. It’s a little chilly in the winter so dress in layers. If you plan to visit the Biltmore it’s a whole day trip visit the winery without kids cause the lines are long especially on weekends. Downtown parking is crazy on the weekends so pay attention, be ready to Walk a little and if you visit Double D’s have cash on hand. Sometimes it rains unexpectedly have a umbrella handy
This stay was the first for my family and I in Asheville,N.C. Having been to this city 20 years ago. It was a lot more family friendly and a lot more hotel choices. The Country Inn & Suites was a perfect stay with a friendly staff and great amenities. The breakfast was always hot and plentiful. The room was clean and quiet regardless of the many families with little ones that was staying at the time we were there. A short drive thru Tunnel Road to downtown Asheville and the Nature Centre.
The location is ideal for us and our reasons for being in downtown Asheville, without being over priced. The breakfast is improving and is already better than the standard free breakfast offered at other hotels. Having an Ingles and several restaurant choices nearby is a big plus. The rooms are roomy and suitably equipped for our needs. Service personnel were very attentive to our needs and quick to offer or provide the necessary help. The beds and pillows were comfy.
There was a wide range of variety for breakfast, which is great because my partner is a vegetarian. The atmosphere where breakfast was located was beautiful as well. I loved the simplicity of my room. It was refined and simple. I wanted to go hiking Sunday morning so the hotel easily made it accessible to do that by working with me during checkout time. And lastly, I loved how close it was to downtown Asheville without being in the traffic.
Large room with comfortable beds. Adequate furnishings, including a nice work desk. Adequate electrical outlets, which is unusual in a hotel this old. Good sound insulation between rooms. The mini fridge actually kept items cold. Free coffee in the office was nice. The location is ideal for our purposes, with an easy route between the hotel and downtown. The 50 mile room rental radius ensured that no transients were at the hotel.
Room was clean and well maintained. Bed very comfortable but pillows were minimal and uncomfortable. Room was adequate size. An extra lounge type chair would have been nice. Breakfast was good but could be better with a few changes. Good value for the Asheville area. Many other area hotels were much more expensive. Location very good, near downtown Asheville and Biltmore (about 5-miles to either from hotel).
The cabins are cute and in a great location very close to The Biltmore Estates as well as downtown Asheville. Lots of places to eat nearby. Woman that checked me in was very nice and helpful with the best way to various places. My boyfriend thought the cabin was really cool as it is a historical site. The area was quiet and the bed was fairly comfy.
Location is great, very close to the Biltmore Estate and Asheville downtown. View from our room was over the mountains. Fantastic! The pool is large, the personnel is friendly. There is a good grill and bar on the first floor. Prices are quite reasonable and the taste is delicious. Thanks for everyday cleaning service! Super clean.
The hotel is in a great location for getting around easily by car. It's not close enough to walk to downtown, but we didn't have any problem finding a place to park. The staff was extremely helpful, and quick to respond to our inquiries. I love the fact the hotel is dog friendly, and I love that Asheville is, too!!
We booked the same day and the hotel was clean, very good located, 10 min from downtown and 0 min from freeway that takes you everywhere. Friendly staff, good breakfast and very clean. Price was very good as well, no hidden charges. There is a pet fee though, but it was expected and cheaper that other hotels around.
NIce, clean and modern newer property. Great access to downtown, including an on-demand shuttle. Location is adjacent to a CVS and a local grocery store, no more than a hundred yards away. Competitive pricing but is considerably cheaper during week days than on the week-end.
It was just a mile away from downtown Asheville! the hotel had a lovely patio that we could sit under that was lit with lovely fairy lights! Brittany, the girl at the front desk was more than accommodating, especially when we decided to stay one more night!
The location was great - walkable to the heart of downtown Asheville. The rate was also good compared to other hotels in the area. The Downtown Inn does not have a lot of bells and whistles, but it was clean and the staff were friendly.
The hotel is a good value for downtown Asheville however, it is located near a highway entrance ramp so there was a good bit of traffic noise. Hotel was clean and good staff.
