THE PROPERTY WAS NOT INEXPENSIVE, A SPLURGE ESCAPE, BUT IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT IN ANY WAY! THE MANAGER WAS FANTASTIC, THE LOCATION WAS IDEAL AND THE SETTING PERFECT. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RETURN.

The hotel is beautiful, having been sympathetically renovated to make the most of its many features. It is also perfectly located for access to the many restaurants and bars in hydra town but not too noisy. It was also clean and very comfortable.

Fun island to explore. No cars allowed! We only had1 night there due to our itinerary, so this fit the bill due to close proximity to Athens. Had a great sunset dinner at Sunset Grill. Tour of the Lazaros Koundouriotis Mansion was awesome, as was home of artist Tetsis.

Hydra is a wonderful place for scenery-gazing and long quiet walks (soundtrack: goat bells, cocks crowing and the occasional donkey bray) - past the monasteries, to the peak of Mount Eros, or across and a scramble down to Limnioniza Beach which we had entirely to ourselves... Our two best meals were both at Techne, where the food is technically accomplished, harmonious and subtle. Jeff Koons' Apollo Wind Spinner at the Deste Project Space Slaughterhouse is a fun diversion on the road to Mandraki. And the many cats seem by and large in good health and well tended thanks to Hydra Ark.

Charming island in a 2 hour ferry ride from Piraeus.
Charming island in a 2 hour ferry ride from Piraeus. Lots of waterside cafes and other restaurants in the center. Nice easy walks along the water, or steeper hikes up the hillside. Many shops. A good place for relaxing.

What I liked the most is that there were no cars, you can go everywhere on foot, very picturesque, quite, the people are friendly and polite, the food was great a bit expensive in elegant restaurants though.
I would like to go again!

NIce island. No cars. Beaches easy to access. Plenty o decent restaurants
Sometimes Hydra Town gets a bit touristy mostly when the big passenger boats come in. The business goes when the passenger ships leave! Nice opportunities for walks outside town, beautiful environment. The town is clean and there are some small supermarkets to get supplies.

Beautiful Island. Cobble stones can be hard on the feet.
Beautiful Island. Cobble stones can be hard on the feet. Plenty of places to eat and drink. No public transport but you can take a donkey ride.
A great place for a relaxing holiday and amazing scenery.
The hotel is very well managed and maintained. The ground floor public rooms and the bedrooms all have beautiful antique furniture and artworks. It is very calm, inviting and elegant. Anna who makes the breakfast is a wonderful lady and the Greek spinach pie and fruit salad is fantastic. The front of house and all the staff are courteous helpful and very pleasant. The hotel is nicely located in town with a very short walk to the lovely harbor front. This is surely one of the finest hotels on the island of Hydra which I can highly recommend.
Very helping hosts, told us everything about the island and offered some beaches to go and the best restaurants. Also, they checked us in a bit earlier. Comfortable and clean room, large bathroom (sleepers, soap, shampoo and shower gel provided). There's also some tea/coffee in your room and a big bottle of water in the fridge from the hotel. The location is just perfect, only 2 minutes walking from the port but not in a busy and loud street, all the restaurants and super markets are nearby. The first beach is about 7 minutes away.
The guesthous is like 7min walking away from the harbour, kind of at the edge of the town, so it’s location is quietBig room! Nice view from the terraces. Water kettle and refrigerator in the room. The shower is seperated from the toilet with a wall, so the bathroom doesn‘t get completely wet like usually in greece. The water is very hot. The owner was very nice and already waited for us. As we forgot our toothpaste the owner was helpful in providing us with a small toothpastetube.
This is a beautiful and well-kept hotel. Jenny and her staff, especially Nikolas, were friendly and helpful. Our two breakfasts there were our favorites on our trip. Having our breakfasts on the beautiful patio was lovely. We loved that it was tucked back up the hill, away from the busy port. We were able to walk everywhere! Highly recommend this place for your stay on Hydra.😁
The two proprietors are natives of Hydra, a font of information, extremely welcoming and very helpful. The hotel is a beautifully renovated building right on the harbour front, that miraculously looks even better in real life than the photos. The home cooked breakfast was a feast and we could take it up to our balcony to eat while we watched the world go by beneath
Staying on Hydra was like a dream and the Phaedra Hotel was such a beautiful place - a bit back from the port so very very quiet with beautiful little streets all around, possibility to walk up to the hills behind the town, very close to all the restaurants and shops. Hilda was so friendly, welcoming, helpful with lots of advice and support during our stay.
A beautiful boutique guesthouse, in a quiet and exquisite area of Hydra. It is also close to a truly excellent restaurant small square. At night you can hear the bells in the distance, the patio area is spacious, private and peaceful. Rebecca is a truly wonderful friendly and helpful host. Will stay again when I am back in Hydra.
Andreas the host is fantastic. He could not do enough for us - from everything for restaurant recommendations to beach towels. The breakfasts at this hotel are so delicious (you must try the homemade grape jam over the greek yoghurt!). Hydra is a magical island and our stay at Hotel Angelica made it even more special.
Friendliest hosts we ever have met. They give you many advices about the island and they are there to help for everything. Room was very nice, comfy big bed and spacious bathroom. It's literally 5 minutes to the port and the road to hotel is flat. Big plus the terrace with tables and chairs.
Everything was perfect. I recommend you arrange for the concierge to bring your bags up to the hotel by wheel barrel, particularly if you have heavy bags. It is about a 10 minute walk from the port. The accommodations and service were all great. A great place to stay in Hydra!
The location and breakfast were perfect, and the staff very friendly and hospitable. The hotel is also nicely designed and well maintained making it a very comfortable place to stay on Hydra. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!
The staff is wonderful and were very helpful when we needed something or had a question. Their daily breakfast was one of the most spectacular of all the hotels we visited in Europe; very generous and a wide variety of food to enjoy.
Location was central but up a steep hill and so we needed to pay a fortune to have our bags brought to the hotel. The hotel then did not have elevators requiring us to lug bags up to the second and third floors.
Hydra is beautiful and have lots of nice restaurants, rock platforms. I highly recommend. Hydra is also not built up so there aren’t a lot of hotels. I would recommend an Airbnb or villa stay.
everything about the Orloff Boutique Hotel was exceptional. Comfortable room, helpful and gracious staff, great breakfast in open-air courtyard, perfect location, quiet, historic property.
Overall quality of the premises and service quality of the staff. Ioanna at the reception, she is exceptional!
The 5star hotel at Hydra, such a tiny Island, can’t be better.
The location was superb and Hydra was just beautiful. The hotel and our room were lovely although the bathroom was rather tired. Good choice at breakfast.
