Despite the weather and the fact that the restaurant we wanted to go closed at 6h30 pm, which was too early for our stomach, we had a great time in Lotte Resort, especially with the spa, the noraebang and the game zone located in the same building !

Room was clean and cute. Had a nice view of the Sokcho Eye, though our view of the sea was blocked by trees. Great location for exploring the beach, and nice brew pub/ coffee shops close by.

A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.

Seoraksan National Park was nearby & have great hiking trails. Lotsa of attractions & attractions in the city. Plentiful seafood available. There’s also chicken Dalai which is stir fried chicken with assortment. Stayed for 2 nites. Maybe should have an additional nite to explore more 😀 I drove but you can walk around.
Good location close to Sokcho fish market, Abai village and the Intercity bus station (25 min walk). The area is good for exploring central Sokcho, which is a very spread out place. Hotel is also close to a big street where you can hail taxis and take buses.
The balcony view was incredible, loved waking up seeing the harbor and the sea! Room was very spacious and the bed big. I mainly booked for the view and washing machine (soooooo happy for the machine!) and that didn't disappoint.
The Hostel is well located and surrounded by main touristic places. The bus for Seoraksan National Park is just 2 blocks away from the Hostel.
As for the room, it's very comfortable and we'll equiped to make you feel at home. It's very quiet so you can sleep easily
The manager James is very kind and will help you finding best places to visit Sokcho.
I would definitely recommend this place for any person who want to spend time in one of the beautiful city of South Korea ! :)
James is SO kind and helpful. He was able to give us food recs for the area, tips for getting to the national park, and help us book the bus onward to Jeonju. The breakfast here is simple but since most stays in Korea don't have free breakfast this was wonderful. Best of all, the rooms are super clean and warm and the place is within walking distance to the local bus terminal and within walking distance of all the attractions you might want to see in Sokcho town.
After reading all the reviews we were really excited about the guest house and meeting the owner, Judith. It didn't disappoint in the least. The guesthouse is very convenient for buses and the market. It was spotlessly clean, and Judith couldn't do enough to help us during our stay. Would definitely return if we visit Sokcho again.
Judith even helped us purchase bus tickets from Seoul and back. We couldn't find tickets online at the times she found.
We loved this place! It felt like staying in a home rather than a hotel. The room had everything we needed and there were so many thoughtful touches. Great wifi. Loved the breakfast as well. Juha was very helpful answering our questions in advance and providing directions, as well as restaurant recommendations nearby. 100% recommend staying here if you’re going to Seoraksan national park. The bus to the park stops right outside.
The Resotel is much closer to Seoraksan National Park than the description has suggested. It is still a 45-minute-walk, but it is worth due to the beautiful first view of Seoraksan.
Also, there is a direct bus from Sokcho, which also can take you to the National Park.
My room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
The staff could not speak English, but they made a huge effort to communicate with me.
We arrived late due to a late connection from the Seoul bus terminal - sent a message to the hotel and received a reply within minutes explaining it wasn't an issue. The guy in reception was really friendly and spoke excellent English. I would highly recommend this hotel and the excellent levels of cleanliness and customer service.
Really close to the Sokcho intercity bus terminal! The owner was extremely nice and even showed me all the spots I should check out around Sokcho and which restaurants are the best on a tourist map that he provided! Also, really nice rooms and facilities were well beyond what I was expecting for the very cheap price
Very kind and friendly host who was very accommodating. Breakfast was simple and delicous: Toast, cereal, coffee. Room was clean and shower was hot. It is a great location next to Seoraksan National Park. The bus Stop Sokcho District C is right next to the hotel/hostel and about 15 min from the park entrance.
I really liked the atmosphere. The owner was super nice and really gave a warm welcome. He told me all about the sights in Sokcho and gave me some great recommendations. The location is great, and it’s easy to take the bus to Seoraksan National Park as the bus stop is right around the corner.
My family of 5 loved this Bed and Breakfast. This was our first time visiting Sokcho and it was a great choice staying at this location. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was great, beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Will definitely book here again!
The host is amazing, super helpful and he makes great Korean style toast for breakfast. The dorms are cleaned every day and he even makes your bed every day. The location is great for exploring Sokcho and the national park, bus stop close by. I met many nice people in the hostel
We had a car, so location is not a problem. The room is basic but clean and very comfortable. There’s simple breakfast provided which is appreciated. We had to carry luggage up 3 stories. The cost is higher than hotels in Sokcho. It’s a short 15-20 mins drive from Sokcho city.
The location is fantastic for visiting and hiking the mountain. It’s close to Sokcho as well, so if you need to get to town, it’s 10min away by car. We visited during winter, the rooms were warm and cozy and the scenery all around spectacular.
This place is located very close to the famous Seoraksan National park. All Sokcho attractions are within a short drive distance. The room was quite standard and rather small, but OK for a short stay. Breakfast was excellent.
The best thing about the hotel is the quality of the food - the chefs are good. Location is good if you want to be right in the national park, but this is not necessary - taxis and busses go from Sokcho all day every day.
