We had a nice visit! Although the parking is a little weird at the hotel, but we were fine. Also since our visit was during Summer, the AC was not enough for the whole place. However, we were gone most of the day, so we survived! We will definitely come back at Sleeping giant BNB for accommodation. Kalabeka Falls and Fort William Historical Park are a few of our favorites! Also the Thunder Bay Lookout at Sleeping Giant Natl Park. :) Mount McKay is also a nice place yo visit! :)

Thunder Bay is close to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park—about an hour’s drive—which is a phenomenal place for hiking at all levels. It’s an easy trip back and forth, and the primary reason I visited Thunder Bay (there are no hotels near the park). I didn’t explore the city-proper very much. It’s easy to drive around. Also seems to have a robust bus system that no one uses! There’s a downtown area with many restaurants and bars, but it wasn’t very busy, even on a weekend night. Best place I ate was a Thai restaurant, Thai Kitchen (11 Cumberland Street), which was excellent.

There aren’t enough hotels and the ones they have that are good book up quickly. The ones left aren’t worth staying in, but it’s too late to get to another town once you realize it. Plan ahead and book early is my advice.

My reason for staying there was STRICTLY medical, not pleasure. I travelled over two thousand miles to get the medical help I needed, because of the FAILURE of the CORPORATE medical mafia (YES, the medical system is the upgraded mafia system) establishment wants to TREAT people but NEVER CURE people as there is no money in "curing" people. They are the LEGAL DRUG DEALERS WITH LICENSE, WITH HORRIFIC SIDE EFFECTS OF THEIR DRUGS. I KNOW, I AM ONE OF THE VICTIMS OF THEIR GREED. For the medical reason, hot tub was a crucial part of my trip and you ALSO failed to tell me that the hot tub was there for the show not for the go. For the proper health benefit, hot tub AND swimming pool go hand in hand! THIS IS FUNDAMENTAL HEALTH CARE!

We went for a family wedding, but should have went earlier to see the sights. We stayed at the Harbour Front and it was gorgeous. Beautiful weather, Lake Superior ! But like every where else, short staffed. Stayed at Delta Marriot, brand new hotel, but restaurant closed for breakfast as no staff. No bar. No snack counter. Starbucks closed at 11am on Saturday and Sunday !!!!! the young people working there were very helpful.

The review of the travel lodge.....
The review of the travel lodge.....The breakfast which was included did not even have a place to sit. The pancake maker was out of order also the personnel was dirty on their clothing this is anadd on to what my wife wrote. I would never recommend that travel lodge to anyone. Gilles Morais
Good amount of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Locked in big bottles instead of tiny one time use bottles that some hotels have that aren't enough.
Hotel is located in decently quiet location. Aren't a lot of traffic in Thunder Bay. Almost no traffic at night.
Interior looked nice. Two queen beds room is the lowest price option instead of one king or queen bed room like in some big cities. Bigger room size for a good value.
stayed 1 night on my way back to Toronto. Hotel is tooo old and with the price they are asking "BF was included" not even grab and go. in other hotels i even paid less amount but they served very good either buffet BF or grab and go. but in colonial no BF at all. Very bad.
also in room there is very old model tv. Now adays a old model TV? not even flat screen HD tv?
so no recommended until at least thye provide u the BF. WIll never stay again
- parking lot was good (safe parking)
- the swimming pool & hot tub were working
- the swimming pool had a salt water feel to it. (Not overly chlorinated like some other hotels)
- the beds were comfortable
- the breakfast was good, but there was no hot food options (ie: egg / sausages) other than hard boiled egg & machine pancakes.
The hotel was hosting evacuees from Deer Lake, Ontario due to the wild fires. They offered us an upgraded room which was a lovely surprise. This hotel had a great reputation many years ago and I was concerned that it had gone down hill over time....I was pleasantly surprised that it was just as nice as I had hoped.
Great hotel room, nice complementary goods such as soap, shampoo/body wash and tea. I ordered food and delivery driver was able to find room easily. The staff were very helpful at the time of arrival. I had a early flight to catch and I enjoyed how close the airport commute was.
Location convenient. There was nice area nearby for a walk in the park by waterfront with memorials to navy veterans and merchant navy. Interesting marina area nearby. Pleasant walk after long day of travel.
Reasonable room rate. Clean tidy room. Good value.
Front desk staff were very helpful and kind.
Staff of the Anchor & Ore were great! One server in particular was so helpful answering some questions we had about places and things in Thunder Bay. I’m not completely sure but I think her name is Aidan.
Hotel was great. We arrived quite late and found that the credit card we used to book months ago had expired. Luckily they called us and left us a voicemail message so we could call and get the new card on file. The breakfast was good.
The hostel is both clean and aesthetic. The staff are absolutely lovely and make sure you are comfortable. The bathrooms are great with individual shower rooms. This was the best place I could have hoped to stay at in Thunder Bay.
Not much can be said - Best Western has their corporate standards, and the hotels are very much alike, so you pretty well know what you get. They are not fancy, but the basics are there. Basically, you get what you pay for.
Thali at the front desk, she went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were comfortable. I would 100% stay there again during our next trip to Thunderbay. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family.
