PURO Gdańsk Stare Miasto, hotel in Gdańsk

Puro Gdansk Stare Miasto is located in the centre of Gdańsk, just 150 metres from the Green Gate and 300 metres from the Long Market.

I like the interior decoration of the lounge areas, and easy access to the bar. If you are waiting for someone to arrive at the hotel, you can wait comfortably in either area, and keep an eye on those arriving. When leaving, they gave me a couple of extra hours in the room without charge, which was a nice leaving present. When I arrived at 2am, I gained access to my room quickly and easily. I did get poor service in the restaurant, but that was the first time it has happened...

Holiday Inn Gdansk - City Centre, an IHG Hotel, hotel in Gdańsk

Holiday Inn Gdansk - City Centre is set in the city centre of Gdańsk on Spichrzów Island, 450 m from Long Market.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and my room was both clean and homely. The breakfast is excellent: the buffet includes a wide range of food, including a hot option. The breakfast room is also very pleasant: guests can see boats passing by.

Hotel Impresja, hotel in Gdańsk

The 3-star Hotel Impresja is located in a peaceful area just a 5 to 10-minute car ride from the beautiful Gdańsk’s Old Town.

The location of the hotel was extremely convenient - a short walk from the university and a short tramride from the city centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful; I had a problem with the room and they sorted it out immediately and efficiently. The breakfast buffet selection was very good. It was overall very good value for money and I would stay there again.

FAQs about hotels in Gdańsk

Charming Architecture And a Breath of History

Called the Amber Capital of the World, Gdańsk is the major shipping seaport and the most beautiful city along the Polish Baltic coast. It has everything a city of this scale needs: a fascinating history, great architecture and a friendly atmosphere!

Also known as Danzig due to its complex past with periods of Polish, German and self-rule, the city is part of the Tricity urban area together with the port city of Gdynia and the popular spa town, Sopot. It’s also a birthplace of the world-famous Solidarity movement, which helped to bring down the Communist rule in Poland initiating the end of the Cold War era.

Its charming buildings were rebuilt in a historical style after the near-complete destruction during the World War II. The colourful town houses of the Old Town can be admired by boat on the Motlawa River or enjoyed while strolling along the popular Long Street and Long Market.

While in Gdańsk, make sure you visit the 15th-century St Mary’s Church, the largest brick church in Europe, and you make a wish at the Neptune Fountain, the city’s patron. While in town, try the legendary local Goldwasser liqueur with 22 karat gold flakes!

Whether you reach Gdańsk by train or plane, Booking.com offers a variety of accommodation near the Lech Walesa Airport, the picturesque Old Town or the general city centre.

If you hold with the truth that there is no time like the past, then you cannot fail to like it. The Old Town is fascinating. For the first time in a long while, I was time travelling again. Not easy to find a restaurant which is vegetarian-friendly, but worth looking through the windows, first floor elevated or into the basement, at interiors that remind me of the years before WWII. I dined at Liberum, which is competitively priced and comfortable, and then stopped for a pint at a whacky vintage bar called, in English, 'Wardrobe'. I was in transit, so only in Gdansk for one night, but you'd be hard pushed to experience everything exhaustively even if you had a week at your disposal. If you don't go, you won't know!

The apartment is about 550m from the office where you have to pick up the keys. The owner has kindly arranged for an airport transfer at 120PLN, for a driver to pick us up from the airport and sent us directly to the apartment with keys. The apartment is very spacious, clean and nicely decorated. The beds are clean and comfortable. Fully equipped with everything we need except for shampoo and shower gel (bring your own). A few more rolls of toilet paper would be nice. Excellent location. So close to the railway station and bus stops. Surrounded by restaurants, shops and supermarket. We really enjoyed our stay there. As the apartment is on the 3rd floor without lift, may be a problem for elderly guests.

A fairytale city! We moved on foot but also by trams.

A fairytale city! We moved on foot but also by trams. Tickets can be purchased from the kiosks located in the passing tunnels. The center is superb, you can visit King Arthur's Court, St. Mary's Basilica, the Amber Museum, the Golden Gate. It was quite cold in April, I recommend thicker clothes for Poland regardless of the season and good shoes because there is cubic stone everywhere. There are many souvenir shops, restaurants, bridges over the water, the port...etc The food is good and a bit expensive compared to Romania. On the next visit I would stay longer, there are many places to visit. I also recommend the resort of Sopot, a maximum of 30 minutes by train for the beach and the Baltic Sea.

Gdansk is a small beautiful city.

Gdansk is a small beautiful city. Affordable flight, accommodation and food. The old town was nice, we stayed there to have a river view which was amazing. The promenade by the river has various restaurants to choose from. There was also a food court nearby and it was cheap and big food portions for its price. Mall is also close by and everything is just walking distance.

Perfect new destination for a three day city break.

Perfect new destination for a three day city break. Although at time of our visit there was a lot of construction work ongoing, this didn't stop us from seeing all the sights and attractions - and there are plenty of them. The World War II museum is especially worth a visit, as is the European Solidarity Centre, not to mention the beautiful buildings and views you will see simply strolling around the super clean streets. Plentiful bars and restaurants to eat and drink in, many with stunning views of the river, the Baltic sea and the city itself.

The location of this hostel is great! You are literally at the main gate of the old town. Staff are really nice and the rooms are quite clean and comfy. I liked that the rooms were not set up with cheap bunk beds but rather individual solid single beds. Airy large windows with lots of natural light. Well equipped spacious kitchen, luggage storage, free towel and bed linen, clean bathrooms. Easy access to everything you wanna see in Gdańsk just a few steps aways.

We had a great time here!! we booked the accomodation last-minute while most places were fully booked (on the same day) and did not really had expectations. The garden is VERY beautiful and the house is impeccably clean. There is a fully equipped kitchen to use. We really felt like home, would reccomend to anyone. It is also very easy to get to the old town, we mostly used Bolt since it is so cheap in Poland, but there are several direct trams taking 15 min

The location was great, really easy to find as you can't miss the restaurant. There is an intercom after the restaurant closes so you can access the reception at all times. It is all pedestrian around the front, so worth bearing in mind if you have luggage. The room on the top floor was really spacious, with comfy seating and good storage for a short trip. The overall aesthetic of the hotel is truly authentic to the Old Town.
