The old town within the walled city has plenty to explore. Lots of places to eat and drink. We went on an interesting walking tour which explained the history of the city. We were only there a day as walking the Camino Primitivo but could easily have stayed longer.NigelUnited Kingdom - 10Scored 10

The city is beautiful and has lots to offer… for example the Cathedral has an impressive museum upstairs on the gallery as well as a stunning altarpiece and stained glass windows; the tourist information office has an important exhibition about the Roman wall, which is apparently the most complete walled city in Europe. You can walk all the way along the wall in about 45 minutes. Coupled with this, there are amazing bars and restaurants with friendly locals and the Playa de Las Catedrales, north of Lugo is the most stunning beach I’ve ever seen.JaneSpain - 8.0Scored 8.0

Lugo a lovely city with Roman Wall all around Old city. Lovely walk around on top of wall. Cathedral well worth a visit. Hotel Mendez Nuñes where we stayed was lovely and wel located within the city walks restaurants and bars very nice

Mostly pedestrian within the walls, so easy to wander through interesting streets and you can do full circuit of the Roman walls,about 2k, wide path and views over city.Other Roman remains slightly disappointing although the mosaic house was worth visiting. We also enjoyed the exhibition on the Camino in the regional tourist office. Panels in Gallician, Spanish and English. Helpful attendant showed us costume display, garden and gave us leaflets for the different Camino routes.

Lugo is a good place to visit for a day or overnight trip - the Roman walls and old town offer good options for sightseeing- walk the entire wall and then there are many fabulous bars and restaurants - great Tapas - it is not touristy

It’s location is centrally located and convenient to stairs to the Roman wall, the cathedral, restaurants and bars. I visited Lugo by bus after hiking the Portuguese. The hostel is within 300 meters from the bus station and is within the walls. Pedro is an incredible host who’s efforts maybe stay a delight. He provided a map and made personal annotations to it to open the city up based upon my interests. He, like this hostel are gems in the town of Lugo.ZookUnited States

The interior feels like a boutique hotel. The bathroom was just great, We were happy to use the washing machine. The reception was perfect. The lady was happy for us to take our race-bikes to the room, which is a great comfort on a long distance trip. Lugo was a great surprise and a don't-miss town on the Camino to Santiago. The apartment is ideally located. Quit but near the center.

He got me ice for my injury, and helped us find a 24 hr pharmacy. It all made me feel so much better. Also the property is extremely clean, bright, and comfortable with a nice attached bar & restaurant. It is in an excellent neighborhood about 1 km easy walking down a lovely boulevard to reach the city center. Next time I am in Lugo I will stay again.RuthUnited States

WiFi works without problems and the TV has many channels and most films can be watched also in the original language. The bed, although not looking promising, was surprisingly comfortable and the Tempur (or Tempur-style) pillow a nice surprise. The apartment is close to a huge supermarket and to the Roman Wall and Lugo's center as well. And it was quite.

It is right next to the main plaza, and they have an amazing rooftop restaurant for your meals. The breakfast is well worth the cost - especially as you’re heading back on the Camino. We loved this place so much we decided to take a day off from walking and spend it in Lugo. The late checkout was phenomenal. It’s very clean, well appointed, and the staff speak great English.
