Honoured by Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi, one of the holiest mosques in Islam, Medina is the 2nd most important Islamic pilgrimage site after Mecca. Surrounded by hills that have seen hundreds of people seek refuge in its oasis, this city has developed a range of modern facilities to host the pilgrims from all over the world.
Formerly named Yathrib, the city is also known as Madīnat an-Nabiy or ‘Prophet’s City’, and it’s also known as Al-Madīnat(u) 'l-Munawwarah or ‘Radiant City’. The Prophet Muhammad came to the city in the 7th century, seeking refuge from his opponents. According to Muslim theology, the last chapters of the Quran were revealed to him here.
The site where the Prophet lived is now occupied by the Al-Masjid Al-Nabawi or ‘Prophet’s Mosque’. Although the mosque has changed and expanded over the years, the green dome is part of the original sanctuary.
Places like the Masjid Quba mosque, the Masjid Al-Qiblatain mosque and the Al-Baqi Cemetery also represent important holy sites in Medina.
Whether you arrive directly at Medina’s Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport or come from Mecca or Riyadh, check out the accommodation deals on Booking.com before travelling.

When your heart is deeply connected to a city like Madina,...
When your heart is deeply connected to a city like Madina, everything around becomes truly amazing. Our souls and hearts remain captivated by the beauty of Madina. The nearby food options around Masjid Nabwi may be average, but taking a stroll to explore different cuisines and savor authentic flavors is truly worth it. It's important to note that driving in Madina has become a bit challenging due to ongoing maintenance work. Unfortunately, Google Maps may not always provide accurate information about the blockages and detours. Nevertheless, the enchantment of Madina continues to captivate us, making every moment spent there truly special.

Wonderful city, peaceful relaxing, spiritual- full of history. Could easily spend a month here relaxing-
Easy transport , superfast trains available ( Harmain )to Jeddah and Mecca.
Lot of historical/religious sites to explore.
Every thing was great as: staff, room, there is a shuttle bus every pray time, wifi, the smell of the reception sooo good so good بخور mashallah, Al madinah itself so nice and safe place, thank you to every one, I like my stay over there.
“Arwa front desk girl” She is so nice and polite mashallah and the other guy he Helped me, I’m sorry not remember the names. But really every one from the staff over there was so nice and helpful and friendly.
اللهم صل و سلم علي محمد و آل و صحبه و سلم
The staff were beyond perfect, great hospitality indeed. We waited for minutes to get our room, and in the meanwhile they offered free lunch that has a variety of food and drinks. They also offered Saudi coffee daily delivered to our rooms. The hotel was very close to the mosque, and near to many stores needed like pharmacy and grocery. The food in the hotel is great, which is needed since there are very few restaurants in the area.
What a hotel!
One of the best experiences in Madinah, the hotel is located at the Southern East edge of the central area of the Haram!
Free parking is included but with limited spaces with first come first serve bases.
Room is very clean, 6 elevators are available
The stuff is very supportive and servicing in high hospitality specially Ms. Saba with her very professional style.
Highly recommended!
Our second time at Shahd Al Madinah. The location is superb especially if you're travelling with kids. The breakfast is very good. They were extremely kind to fulfill our request for late check- out as we had to leave for Makkah by train after the Friday prayers. Genuinely friendly staff and overall good service.
I would like to highlight the maintenence of room was not proper. Toilet was stinking, Kept the exhaust fan switch on of all night and then the smell reduced. I had been to another hotel in Madina but this hotel Anwar Al Madina was bad choice even after paying extra or more amount compare to other hotels.
modern, good restaurant with continental and oriental breakfasts. friendly & helpful staff. excellent reception staff . the lady at reception was so efficient but unfortunately I didn’t get her name. she is a real credit to the hotel. MashaAllah well done! I’m so happy to see excellent Saudi staff too!
The customer service is exceptional and the best I have had in Saudi - ever!
Staff are attentive and helpful. location is fantastic, a few minutes walk and you are in the Haram.
The daily suhoor, each day was brilliant and had lots of variety.
It is a fabulous hotel.
very bad front desk experience not professional took us 2 hours to check in at one point the whole front desk employees disappeared for 30 minutes bc nobody had the answer for delayed check in worse experience I have in Saudi Arabia😖
Good location. about 10 minutes walk to Harram and next to Saja Al madinah hotel which is bus stop point for SAPTCO VIP bus. Easy to get cab and taxi to airport.
McDonalds, food courts and coffee shops very close by
Good value, great location for the facilities around Qurban neighborhood. As for the distance between it and the Masjid Alnabawi the hotel offers free transportation.
Overall my experience to stay at Jiwar Al Madina is very good. 2-3mins walking distance, Bakala & fast food very near. Free parking is also available near the hotel.
Worst hotel you can think of. Better to live on the road then to come here. Very traumatizing. Dirtiest place you can image. Run as much as you can from this place.
No respect for Qibla as Bed facing towards Qibla which is against the principal and rules and regulation of Saudi Arabia, Every hotel should respect The Qibla.
