I liked lovely welcome when both of us with my brother arrived. Check-in was fast and short. As soon as we walked into the room, all was clean and set up perfectly. The best rest in my lifetime. Most importantly, lovely and caring staff workers❤️

Breakfast was brilliant. The whole experience was really nice until I came to check out and girl on reception said we need to pay the bill of £...
The stay was a present for my husband and he was never meant to know the cost about it. I gave my card details when I booked sooner would be deducted as soon as I check in. I was so embarrassed that he has found out and it took me so long to accept it. The whole lovely experience was ruined with one small thing.
Also the girl on the reception insisted me to go over the bridge and pay the amount. She made sure I know what amount is outstanding and refuse to acknowledge that its raining so much and not convenient to go over the bridge. I am still giving you 5 star but I did not come out of your hotel happy.

Room and bathroom were a good size and there was a fridge. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was substantial and location was a few mins walk from the main shopping area. We managed to get the last space in the car park but if it had been full the multi storey car park is literally across the road. Although our room was close to the lift and over the main entrance, it was quiet

We travelled for work, and after spending 12 hours at work.
We travelled for work, and after spending 12 hours at work. the most important thing to look forward to is a clean warm room with a comfortable bed, plenty of hot water for a bath or shower and a good nights sleep, this is the 7th time of staying at the Campanile hotel, so we are really pleased with this hotel.
Good place to eat is the Red Kite pub around a mile away, fantastic food and a family friendly atmosphere.

Too noisy rooms (especially during the weekend), very bad customer service (most staff don't smile, duty manager doesn't care about complaints) swimming/spa requires additional charge and pre-booking, food in the restaurant is not good and overpriced

Great quick visit to the cathedral as closing an hour after we arrived. Stunning interior with view of peregrines on spire (visible and via webcam). City was clean and sunny. Lots of restaurant choices - we went for the Slap & Pickle concession in The Counting House (hands down all three of us said it was the best burger we’d had). The sandstone buildings are stunning. Sadly didn’t have time to visit the Hepworth or YSP but will be back .

Not a welcoming city centre. Most bars had bouncers.
Not a welcoming city centre. Most bars had bouncers. Police in numbers, drafted in for Friday night. Ambulances stationed in the city centre in preparation.
Chip shops shut on Friday night. Restaurants were either very posh and expensive it had sauce bottles and kitchen roll on the tables and still expensive.

We visited The Hepworth Gallery, which was the whole reason for our trip. Wakefield is a pleasant centre to walk round, but could do with more places to eat in the evenings.
Some lovely buildings and structures to see.

Wakefield has really nice town centre with an amazing vegan Throwback Coffee House. If you prefer nature, there is a big Thornes Park with Secret garden, pond, Skate park etc. and very nice walk in nature in Pugneys Country Park.
Quite simply the worst hotel I have ever had the misfortune to stay at. The bed was had half the springs missing, the quilt and pillow were yellow, the bathroom had yellow grout and the shower was cold and to top it all the coffee tasted like mud. After a 16 hr day I would have expected to sleep (or pass out) but the wall were so thin you could hear the person above going to the toilet and passing wind in the night. Awful place it would have been Breyer sleeping in the van.
Handy location In Wakefield centre. the City Free Bus stops very nearby- just right for getting to the Hepburn Gallery. Bus 96 gets you out to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The Cathedral is a three minute walk away.
The Apartment gives you space to stretch out in comfort. Comfortable bed. Great to be able to prepare food if you don’t want to eat out for every meal.
Ironing board and iron and hairdryer were provided.
Good size room with plenty of storage space and work surfaces as it was an executive room. Bed was very comfortable with quality white linen. Shower was large walk-in style concealed behind a false wall which was confusing to find at first!
Enormous free car park and bus stop into town centre five minutes walk away. Very good food in Ramada restaurant, and drink prices reasonable for hotel.
The room was nicely decorated and could be really lovely if issues were addressed. The bedding and towel smelt clean. Communication with the owner was good. Free Parking directly outside and close to the centre of Wakefield. The price is very good also.
I've a rental property in Wakefield and when I need to do some work on it, I tend to have a night in a local hotel rather than drive up early... for this purpose, the hotel is fine, reasonably priced and very welcoming.
-The location was convenient as it was in the centre of Wakefield.
-The room was spacious with a great city view
-There was a small kitchen with a fridge, freezer, microwave and sink.
