We only stayed for one night but will definitely return, God willing. Met with an exceptionally warm welcome from the start, we felt immediately at home. Our room was very nice and the bed super comfy. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay. The dinner menu was wonderful- so many options but what we chose was delicious! The dining room view out onto the loch and gardens would be hard to beat anywhere! The hotel has many beautiful original features and many cosy corners for a little drink or quiet read, lots of wildlife to watch too. The hotel is surrounded by lovely gardens and is full of freshly cut flowers which I found a really homely and lovely touch. The manageress and her team of staff were the warmest and friendliest staff we’ve met in a long time and they really made us feel so special. The manageress spoke so affectionately about her team it was clear they are all really committed to this place. I’m sure if you appreciate stunning scenery, historic architecture and meeting delightful staff, you’ll enjoy a holiday here too! We highly recommend Stonefield Castle Hotel - such a special hotel!

This is a traditional country house hotel.
This is a traditional country house hotel. The furnishings reflect this - it’s not the standard corporate feel of the Premier Inn. It has character and atmosphere with views that are stunning.
The restaurant is better than most hotels I have been to, and the staff are super.
It’s a big old house so yes, another £500k would make it look better - but it is roomy, comfortable and a lovely place to stay for a few days.
Loved it…
A lovely traditional hotel in a beautiful setting. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The dining/breakfast room has a fantastic view over the loch and the staff make every effort to get you a seat close to it if possible. Lots of different public rooms to sit in so you don't have to spend all your time in your room.
The setting of the hotel is excellent for exploring the surrounding area and is also beautiful. The original "state rooms" are well decorated and very atmospheric. The staff is extremely hard-working and very enthusiastic and friendly. Finally - a good kitchen producing excellent, simple, tasty food.
Location brilliant, hotel really does need a upgrade with decoration, furniture and for example curtains. Windows were broken, rotten and would not open. The price suggested a far better standard. Two nights running, same food menu. Food was ok but not as described on web site.
The views and the trails to walk on.
The bar was great, and we enjoyed breakfast in the dining room.
It was fun to wander the castle and the various rooms to sit in and enjoy a relaxing time with our fellow travelers or to meet others staying as well
Lovely hotel on the shores of Loch Fyne - the grounds are spectacular. The dining room has wonderful views and large windows take full advantage of this. The bar area was cosy and inviting and our evening meal in the restaurant was very good indeed.
Wow! What a great experience. It’s a castle. So that right there is worth everything. The location was and grounds were great. The restaurant and bar were fantastic and the staff was very warm and welcoming. This hotel was amazing.
Food on first night was excellent. Venison)
Bar menu and service was superb.
Loved afternoon tea and scones.
Views and weather were just sublime.
Don't believe it was 25 years since we got married at the castle
Everything was excellent. Lovely grounds, patio, food and drinks, and exceptional staff. When our ferry was cancelled, our disappointment was short lived as we really enjoyed our unplanned stay at the hotel.
It’s a literal castle, it was amazing. The food was delicious, the drinks were fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly. Plus the hike to the island offered incredible views!
Everything about Stonefield Castle is exceptional. The view is breathtaking, the food is excellent and the staff go out of their way to make your stay special.
Beautiful setting and lovely building. We had a gorgeous suite at the front of the castle.
Lovely little woodland walks below the castle towards the shore.
