Loved everything! I am delighted at the glorious landscape, the beautiful pods, the quietness of Gorse Hill and the kindness of the hosts Neil and Keria! It was a pleasure to check-in at the time chicken were running back to their coop, watching the donkeys and waking up to the sound of all the birds around. All facilities (toilets, shower rooms, kitchen) were immaculate and fully equipped with everything you could need. Will surely repeat this stay soon and tell family and friends about this treasure! Thank you for welcoming us :)

Newcastle is great for a day out or longer stay.
Newcastle is great for a day out or longer stay. It looks beautiful, even in the rain. It has the natural amenities of the beach and the mountains and in summer there's the big wheel, carousel and boating lake. There's plenty of indoor amusement arcades too. And there are so many places to get a bite to eat - from a bakery hot snack to dinner in the Slieve Donard, there's something to suit everyone. Anyone new to Newcastle should check out Graham's icecream, it's really good.

The shops, including a wide range of clothes, eating venues, take - always or restaurants. Good entertainment , for adults & children. Amusements outside for the young, eg.swimming pool, paddle swans on the river for all ages. There are plenty of parks for walks, exploring nature life either walking or cycling. A short drive from Newcastle will take a route through the mountains, which are beautiful to look at, as well as a walk through Tullymore Forest Park, suitable for picnics

Lots of places to eat. Fun amusements and swan paddle rides.
Lots of places to eat. Fun amusements and swan paddle rides. A swimming pool and Castlewellan and Tollymore forest parks are close by. You can play mini golf at Adventure Golf.
Negatives would be there is a lot of dog poo on the paths and the public toilet in Donard carpark is disgusting. There is one in the middle of the town which is just about passable but you have to use it as the amusements etc all say there's are closed

Loved the apartment it had everything we needed with great Mountain View. The location could not have been more central everything was within walking distance. The apartment was clean and well kept and beds were really comfy. The only downside for some would be the stairs as the beds and bathrooms are downstairs but this was no problem for us. Not sure it was what we had booked with booking.com as we were expecting to be in a different area of Newcastle going by their website but all turned out well.
The best thing about the apartment was its location - it's right on South Promenade of Newcastle (County Down, Northern Ireland) with a breathtaking view of the Irish Sea. The apartment was very comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Paul, at the reception, was extremely warm and helpful. The owner / host Claire was easy to communicate with and we would like to thank her for the hospitality and arrangements.
An alcoholic beverage was given to welcome us on arrival. The room was big and spacious as was the bathroom. Nicer than some hotels we had stayed in before. Kettle in the room for making tea and coffee. The gardens and views of the mountains were stunning. Five minutes by car to Newcastle. Well priced for two sharing. Nice coffee machines and sitting areas around the house.
One of the best hotels I've stayed at in northern ireland, the family room was huge, the bathroom was exceptional, freshly refurbished by the look of it. The staff where lovely and really looked after us including my wife as it was her birthday. The breakfast was one of the best frys I've had in a stay away. Top marks to all the guys here and we will definitely be back.
Breakfast, location, room were all excellent. The hosts had local information on places to eat, things to see and do. This is the first hotel or B&B where I've stayed that even had a diffuser for the hair dryer for curly hair! The back garden was lovely and had a great view for relaxing and for breakfast time. Daisy, the resident greeter dog, was so sweet also.
Colm was an absolute gentle man, he assisted our every need and even gave us a lift into Newcastle as taxi depos were booked up. We most definitely got the best room of the house, the view from our window was unreal!!!!
I would definitely recommend the mournesview farmhouse, it was an amazing stay and we will definitely 100% be back again soon 😍
Great house and location

Good communication from host
Comfortable beds
In the centre of Newcastle, everywhere is within walking distance
Warm and comfortable
We all had a ball, thank you!
Perfect location a couple of mins walk to Newcastle city centre and the beach, easy contact less check in, free parking, had everything we needed for a one night stay. Really good price!! And you can bring your dog which is a massive plus for us.
can’t say enough good things about this place! the staff were absolutely awesome. the most warm and friendly place we’ve stayed. they went above and beyond to make our stay great! if you are coming to Newcastle this is the place to stay!!
the setting, it is set in an unreal area beside the sea and overlooking the Mourne Mountains, very good atmosphere around the Hotel, the rooms are very artisitc and well maintained, the spa was very good as well
Everything was perfect. Convenient location to the local hotel where I attended a wedding, 3 mins walk. Easy check in. Cafe below. Warm, comfortable, clean, good mirrors!! Great value for money.
I expected a basic b and b but it's a very modern mini hotel. Family run and very clean with everything you need. Located right beside Tollymore Forest but only 5 mins from Newcastle centre.
The location was perfect for a wedding in The Slieve Donard Hotel. The apartment was spotlessly clean with everything we required. We loved the fluffy towels in the bathroom as well.
Lovely place to stay, close to Newcastle centre, beautiful views of the mourne mountains from our room. Kitchen facilities were spotless. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
then construction extremely disappointing as a long staying guest the new owners should not have the prices at what they are when the hotel is half open complete joke!
Everything about the Donard hotel is just perfect ! Location friendliness and great value for money ! ... i would only stay in the Donard when i visit Newcastle !
The location was fantastic, In the heart of Newcastle town. We stayed the night after spending all day hiking, The place was very cosy. Would highly recommend.
