I stayed in Lowick, a small village as I was joining a trip to Lyndisfarne which is only a few miles away. I liked the fact that the village is close to the A1 but far enough away to avoid the noise of this busy road.

Nice village, not much there but easy to get to all the places we visited. Lindisfarne, Bamburgh, Alnwick, seahouses to name but a few. The black bull inn is a fabulous pub and restaurant. Delicious food and the rooms are beautiful.

A beautifil wee village with 2 very good pub / restaurarants at either end. A great spot to decamp and strike out to Bamburgh or some of the other glorious spots in this beautiful part of the country. It's one of those places you'd think too good too not keep secret! Brilliant. We will be back there soon.

Lowick is a great place to stay when travelling up to Scotland - we used our visit to break the journey. It is a beautiful little village, with two great pubs (we stayed in the White Swan and ate in the Black Bull).
Absolutely beautiful hotel absolutely spotless rooms were cosy and warm and done up to a high standard with tea and coffee making facilities and lovely treats too. Staff were absolutely fantastic Lorna was so sweet and nothing was too much trouble made our stay so lovely. Food both in the hotel and pub were out of this world the breakfast was absolutely gorgeous all the good freshly cooked to order and locally sourced which is lovely to see would definitely recommend the black bull and I'll definitely be staying again!!!! ❤️
Lovely friendly helpful staff. Thank you Hazel! You were still smiling and calm even when you were the only person doing everything! Food at breakfast and dinner was outstanding, thank you chef! Bedroom was lovely; spacious, well appointed, large comfortable bed, great shower in a lovely spacious bathroom. Lowick is a great little village, only 20 min drive from Lindisfarne and 25 from Bamburgh. Perfect!
The hotel was a very nice surprise. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Hotel decor was very good. Room, en-suite, coffee/tea facilities and bathroom bits were excellent, the bed was a good size and was very comfortable. Dinner was very good, seafood platter starter highly recommended. Breakfast was excellent I was still full at teatime. Would certainly stay here again.
The relaxed, friendly atmosphere of the Witte Swan made it feel like a home from home for us and our pampered pooch who received a sausage, every morning for breakfast from the chef! The location was perfect and the accommodation was just right. We loved our visit and will definitely return when we visit Lowick again. 😃😃
Excellent food for both dinner and breakfast.
Comfortable bed, tasteful furnishings and decor, and friendly helpful staff.
Free parking and wi-fi.
