Ann was a fab host and ensured I had a relaxed stay. It was very accommodating of her to ensure I had everything for breakfast for a very early morning checkout.... Oh and it was good to have a nice banter with Michael about the bike 👍🏼

Lovely, clean and well equipped flat bang in the middle of Coniston.
We stayed with our 9 month baby and the included travel cot and high chair were excellent quality.
The small hall before the kitchen/living room was useful for keeping wet hiking gear.
Next to Coniston Water, The Coniston Inn - The Inn Collection Group has lawns running down to the lake shore and a restaurant with spectacular mountain views.

The setting is outstanding. From one side there is mountain and on the other lake with just a five minute walk to marina. Also, there is lots of space to chill out ,including free standing pods where you get that private feeling.

Fantastic breakfast and dinner - lots of choice! The friendly staff are really personable, always asking how our day was/how our evening was. We had to rearrange our booking from our original dates and they were really helpful with this and even matched the original price. The hotel is in an excellent location and has beautiful views (I'd recommend doing the Consiton 7 Peaks if you're up for a hiking challenge!). The spacious rooms are really lovely, with tea, coffe and milk provided. The shower facility was really good. I loved that the place was so dog-friendly - I'd happily bring my dog here. We were provided free parking, so all in all, our stay was excellent value for money. Would happily stay again.

Coniston is the perfect village to stay at for exploring this area of the lake district. There are some fantastic views and walks in all directions for varying levels of experience and fitness. Refreshments and accommodation are available, with at least four pubs for great food and beer, plus a petrol station, cafes and a few shops, without losing the village feel.

The cottage is homely, fairly clean, it has most things you need, a lovely view of Coniston and the lake. The location was perfect for us, plenty of walks from the cottage and lovely views on the walk back along the elevated lane.
The only downside was the junk around the back of the cottage, and to the side.

Beautiful area of the lakes.
Beautiful area of the lakes. We haven’t spent much time around Coniston before having normally visited Keswick. Coniston is a picturesque village, the lake makes for some amazing photos and the village’s is full of, and surrounded by, places to eat.

I have visit Coniston many times before, this time was to go fell walking with my Son. Booked Bluebird Lodge at quite short notice but found it very easy. I knew it was just outside of the town which allowed us to pick up walks without moving the car. We also took a trip on the Steam Gondola & went around the Ruskin Museum, both of which were excellent have been meaning to do for years. Bluebird Lodge is near the lake where there are a vast array of activities for all ages. Great food both at the Lodge & nearby pubs & cafes. Couldn't have asked for more. Superb!

Consiton is a lovely little Lakeland village with the famous Old Man of Coniston walk from the centre of the village.
Also, 4 lovely atmospheric pubs for refreshment after all that walking !
We ate at the Sun Inn which was just 5 minutes walk from the centre so not quite as busy. We had a very pleasant meal. The Youdale Inn has patio heaters outside so you can sit outside into the evening without feeling the chill - lovely.
In common with all Lake District towns and villages, Coniston is very busy. Our apartment offered free on site parking - a definite bonus and something to look out for !

Our visit to Brantwood by launch on the 1 fine day was the highlight of our trip. We also enjoyed Tarn Hows and the Coniston Fells. Had a good meal at Sara's Indian Restaurant. Also got a lot of information at the Ruskin Museum. Loved the windy roads and great views everywhere. Lots of memories to take back to Australia!
Comfortable and warm accommodation with well equipped kitchen, set in nice grounds. Very good location with Coniston lake very near. We could walk to swimming at Monk Coniston or to paddle board hire nearby leaving the car parked at Bluebird lodge. Lots of walks nearby and great roads to cycle around Coniston lake with Wrynose and Hardknott passes not far for more challenging rides. An inn across the road from the lodge and Coniston village a short walk away for shops and more pubs make the location even better.
The location was perfect with it been set in the heart of Coniston village, we had fantastic views of surrounding fells including the Old Man. The room itself was spacious with comfy bed and good tea/ coffee making facilities. The staff were friendly and helpful, couldn’t fault the service. The bar downstairs had a great choice of different beers and lagers and other beverages as well as a decent menu for food (we didn’t try the food as had other reservations). Overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.
Everything! The location is fantastic for exploring Coniston and the wider Lake District; the facilities were spot on, we had everything we needed for our three night stay; there was free private parking; the hosts were lovely and offered great advice on places to see / eat / etc. This will be the first place I look at for availability next time I visit the Lake District. Keep up the good work :-)
The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the location - 3 pubs that do food and shops for groceries only a minute walk away and only a short walk down to the lake shore.
We particularly liked having the space of self catering but having breakfast included at the B and B owned by the same owner , Frances. The breakfast was well cooked, presented well and very hot.
The cottage was perfect and quaint, gorgeous views of the Coniston Water and a great base for exploring other parts of the lakes. The accommodation was immaculate and it felt like a home away from home. As other reviews suggest the road leading to the cottage is a little on the narrow side but it added to the experience, we had no issues with getting the car in and out!
Rooms at the Black Bull are a little pricey, but very good. Breakfast was very good. The location is excellent. Lovely to come back to a meal and a few drinks after the day out, and only have to walk upstairs afterwards! Fully stocked on Coniston Brewery beers. Will definitely recommend if you're visiting the South West Lake District.
A fabulous hotel in an utterly stunning location. I'm reluctant to write this review if only because I don't want it to be booked up next time I go!! Lovely staff, delicious food (probably the best hotel breakfast I've ever had) and beautiful gardens with tremendous views over Coniston Water. It's not "if" we'll be back, but "when".
The view from the cottage was beautiful, and it was a perfect base for walking, swimming in the lake and exploring Coniston. Loved the open fire, the comfy sofa and how cosy it felt. The cottage was clean and well kitted out with everything we needed.
Our first time staying in Coniston and we have fallen in love with the place and the hotel. Perfectly located for everything, the staff were so friendly and helpful and the outside space was amazing for the kids and the dog! We will defiantly be back!
The room was one of the best ive ever stayed in. The decor was perfect and very tastefully done. Ive never stayed in a hotel that was absolutely spotless like this one. I would highly recommend to anyone staying in Coniston to book a room here.
Came by foot (Cumbria Way) witha a warm welcome. Walking to Torver is ok by the back route (old railway) but it could be a bit damp under some Lakeland conditions! Walking to Coniston is really a bit far for convenience.
Excellent location in centre of Coniston; parking on site; generous breakfasts; comfortable room with lots of extra touches - fresh milk, toiletries, robes, etc, etc.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Everything went very smoothly, the staff were extremely courteous and professional. The food was lovely. The very short distance to the lake was great, everything was spotless. Wonderful place.
Perfect location, with private access to the lake, relaxed atmosphere, great breakfasts, fresh milk available for tea/coffee in our room, friendly, helpful staff, beautiful garden.
