The room was very spacious and had a good view of Callander. The member of staff we did deal with was very friendly. The hotel is also dog friendly which was great as we had our dog with us.

We were caught up by a road closure. I called to warn them of our late arrival. Sophie was ever so kind to email me with instructions for checking in by ourselves. The room was comfortable, spacious and neat. Breakfast was also delicious and generous. We couldn’t have asked for more!

Host went above and beyond for personal touches. I had mentioned we were there for my friend’s birthday and we went back out and came back to a wee tray with a card and 2 mini bottles of Prosecco and chocolates. My friend really appreciated that thought.

Nice, very safe, well kept, small town with good shops & restaurants, not far from Stirling. Although Roman Camp Hotel is very secluded, it’s actually on the Main Street, on the banks of the river Teith.

Callander is a lovely little town with plenty of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, take-aways and walks. The fisheries are beautiful, plenty of benches to sit at and walks around it.
I had a fish supper from the Frying Dutchman which was superb, and the second night ate at The Riverside Inn which was equally as delicious. All very good prices.
The wine shops are lovely and little gifts shops and plenty of cafes.
The Dreadnought is a period property and it does need some work, HOWEVER, the room was very clean, the mattress, bedding, carpets and curtains were all new. The room was serviced daily, secondary double glazing to keep the road noise down, a good car park to the rear and a nice bar. The hotel is very well located in Callander, close to the many pubs, restaurants and shops. The manager was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Westcot is located in the centre of Callander with private parking and easy access. The rooms are excellent and spacious with everything provided. The breakfast hamper is just amazing, with a wonderful choice of fruits, compot, pastries, breads and savories, "all home made", that really set you up for the day. Stephany, the host, is extremally welcoming and will provide all the information and advice you need about the local area.
.. o ly offered cereaUnfortunately the big storm Arwin blew in on our first night at dinner. After spending that night in hotel with no lighting, heating and no cooked breakfast only offered cereal and fruit decoded to book out. It seems power wasn't resumed in Callander for 3 or 4 days.. thought hotel not at fault I thought more staff could have made our stay more comfortable
We really enjoyed our short stay here on our way up through the highlands. The hotel is well placed in Callander with very helpful staff. We had dinner on the first night and whilst not top notch grub, was really nice and tremendous value for money. The breakfast was also great, offering haggis and black pudding, always a good start to a busy day. Would definitely stay again!
Property close to attractions in and around Callander. Cosy Bistro within the gardens of the hotel for a less formal setting. The hotel decor is ornate with large gas fired open fires giving a warm feeling to the rooms. Bedroom and en suite were spacious including lounge and television area.
Breakfast was plentiful with a good range of Scottish products on offer.
The apartment is in a quiet alley right off the center of town. It is an extended attic including a seating area, kitchen, two bedrooms and two showers. It is very convenient and cozy. As a nice added touch, there were also board games, children's books, guidebooks and pamphlets (not advertisements), and the owners recommended bars with live music nearby.
The apartment was great! We were met on site by our host and had a full introduction to Callander! Lots of extras in the kitchen made the stay perfect (really enjoyed the gin and ale). We had a wonderful time discovering Loch Lomond & The Trossachs and topped it off with a visit to Stirling castle. Thank you!
Good situation in a pleasant town within reach of Stirling and Loch Lomond. There was no allotted parking space but we had no problem with finding a space close to the apartment. The apartment was very clean and well equipped for our stay. The shower was absolutely fabulous.
A lovely traditional house - so quiet and peaceful. Close to the Roman Camp hotel where we enjoyed dinner and afternoon tea.
Our host was very welcoming and we enjoyed tea and cake in the garden on arrival.
Close to the Bracklinn Falls - well worth visiting.
The years of experience seep through in every detail Dawn provides from breakfast to amenities over to helping finding something to do in the area. Perfect ! On top of that, she is very friendly and doesn’t want you to miss out on anything.
Everything was great from the welcome at check in until we left. Jan was easy to communicate with and very helpful in ensuring we were well informed regarding the facilities at the hotel as well as guiding us to the surrounding areas
We had a fantastic stay at the Highland Guest House. It was comfortable, well located, the staff was amazing, and the breakfast was great. Would highly recommend it to anyone travelling to the area.
Querky hotel and bar. Very friendly staff, clean and a greatbreakfast. Super value for money. OK its a little tried but what matters is the hospitality and comfort both of which are excellent.
A fantastic night in Callander. Francesca and Stefano make you feel like house guests rather than hotel guests. It was a pleasure to share their home with them.
