The staff are genuinely amazing and the location is great as it’s close to the beach and to restaurants ; I only ordered the hotel’s breakfast once but couldn’t eat as corned beef was too salty;

The location is great. The room is very huge. And the wifi is strong. And the hotel picked us up at the port for free. Huge thank you!

Not much. Breakfast was for one day enough. Only instant coffee with creamer was served. Green tea was available only.
Location with the beach is okay. The beach chairs etc. are not the newest.

Bantayan was truly a lovely surprise!
Bantayan was truly a lovely surprise! It is very chill and laid-back, not at all crowded, you can find beaches with very little or no people at all which is quite amazing in this day and age!
The water is super clear and clean, beaches have white sand and you can swim without fearing getting stung by sea urchins or corals. You have plenty of available restaurants and accommodation options, plenty of beaches to explore and also the possibility of hiring private boats to visit the neighboring islands at a very good price about 60$ for a 8-hour trip to 4 locations, including environmental fees etc.
I think Bantayan will become increasingly popular in time and gain more and more admirers :)

Not crowded at all in November, a rather quiet place.
Not crowded at all in November, a rather quiet place.
Best if you rent a scooter or bicycle (very affordable) and explore
this beautiful island by yourself. Some fine and nearly empty beaches,
with no facilities, bring all you need ,or stay in one of the beach resorts who provide chairs, umbrellas, cocktails etc.
Nature rules ,very limited possibilities after sunset, this is not Pattaya !
People are very friendly and polite , I enjoyed our 5 day vacation on Bantayan a lot.

What a great place to visit.
What a great place to visit. I'm not sure what it was like before the pandemic. I understand that prior to COVID 1/2 the population wasn't Filipinos, who've pretty much all left.
The net result is a quieter and more relaxing environment. Rented a scooter and drove all over, outside of Sante Fe and Bantayan there are so many idyllic quiet spots to visit. The square in Bantayan was great to see all the folks dancing and socializing.
The island hopping to Virgin Island is NOT to be missed.

Our six day stay was in typhoon season and we had to flees the r one that hit north of the island. I really appreciated the island the day we left as the weather was finally beautiful and i got to see the white sand beaches in all thier beauty. We didn’t do any tours as they were very expensive and with weather not worth it. We stayed in two different hotels and just enjoyed the nearby beach as the weather allowed.

In my eyes the sugar beach in Bantayan Island is one of the nices beaches you can find in the Philippines.
The size is manageable and good food is offered in various restaurants with a manageable number of tourists. Staying there has already become noticeably more expensive, but the island has retained much of its original charm and mass tourism has not yet returned.
Biside beach life you can spend some days by make different trips to Saint's Peter and Paul Parish, Virgin Island, Mangrove garden, Jumanji Feels and so on ....
It is quite comfortable and easy to reach for tourists from Cebu City within arround 3 hours by booking a bus ticket to Bantayan Island that is including the ticket for the ferry already.

Well, i use to travel all around the word, and the beauty of the island is just incredible.
If you like sit on a white sand beach, relax and spend your time like this, it's perfect
Virgin island is a must.
BUT, there is not a lot of place with normal or high standard for foreigners .
you will not see a big difference between today and 30 years ago.
A part of people get smartphones now....haahaha
if you are in a group or large family, need to take a motorcycle or 2
price need to be negociate, as they are sometimes stupide.
but it was the same in Cebu, that's what anoyed a lot to fight everyday to don't be ripped of.
My stay in the island was relaxing, we had to cancel the first booking as it was a horrible place, smelly and dirty, we spent 3 hours with a motorbike that we had to pay 800 pesos ( a lot of money for here...but well, europeean people can afford it...) and we found a place avaible with our family afront the beach. very nice and honnest person , but it was fully booked for the week end , so we change of place after looking around before.
The place was new and with everything near us
