If you drive to Ooty, you better be an exceptional driver as most of the roads are either uphill OR downhill.
The important spots that I visited with my family are
1) Botanical Garden
2) Rose Garden
3) Doddabetta Peak
4) Train Station/Journey (to Coonoor)
5) Tea Garden (best for photos)
6) Tea/Chocolate factory (worth the visit at least once)
7) Government Museum (History Museum in the first Stone house)
8) Emerald lake (although very less water but worth the visit for the landscape and the scenery).
9) Pine forest (visit this place only if you love the nature and to walk in between the pine trees for some photos, otherwise it is long drive)
Getting around Ooty is easy if you have the GPS or at least know the routes very well otherwise you will never know where you will end up, especially the places where you can't take U-turn.

Ooty is crowded these days.
Ooty is crowded these days. I would prefer to stay in connor next time. The traffic was horrible and it was not peaceful to just go sightseeing.
But the weather was nice and cozy to stay inside the homestay.

If you wanna enjoy the nature with relaxing experience, then avoid going to Ooty during weekends / extended weekends as mostly working professionals from Bangalore & Mysore visit which makes the traffic a terrific thing in the city.

The best thing to experience is Ooty toy train and rose garden.
Other things are overhyped. The pyara waterfall, the pine forest , shooting point etc are greatly overhyped. You can completly sip these and plan for coonoor or other nearby places like Wayanad.

A great destination for 2-3 days holidaying.
A great destination for 2-3 days holidaying. We visited the sites likes Pykara falls and lake, Shooting Point, Botanical garden, Rose garden, Chocolate Factory, Tea/ Cofee Factory, Doddabetta Peak etc to name a few. However following wroth to be noted:
1) Pykara Falls does not have any falls actually
2) Botanical Garden is not worth.
3) Toy train can be excluded from the trip.
4) Chocolate factory and tea factory on Dodabetta road is worth seen and should not be missed.

I shall not say there are any favourite spots as such, but you can try the PINE Forest and 9th mile shooting location. I shall infact recommend people to book a very nice amidst nature homestays or resorts and enjoy their stays. Also try the toy train but from Mettupalayam station to Coonor station, that has way better view to offer.
Getting around Ooty is not that easy, if not good in bargaining, autos can charge alot. So, better to take own vehicles and stay in a offbeat location.
Best places to eat were:
1. Earl's Secret in King's cliff. (Amazing ambience with great hospitality, go well dressed)
2. Hyderabadi Biryani House. (Little waiting time is there because of rush but for biryani lovers its worth it)
3. The Periodic Table, ( Luxury, Sexy, Chemistry ambience with continental food, yeah little expensive but their food display and hospitality and their little taste blasters were amazing)
4. Le Cafe (Outdoor cool cozy ambience with great food)
5. The Sugar Dribble Cafe ( A small corridor cozy cafe, you can try for evening snacks).
And most importantly for Souvenirs, i think i was going on round and round in the city. Lastly, beside Hotel Sahakar Palace, from where mostly the Buses will start there is a market called Sarakkar Super Market. You will find, fridge magnets, tea, chocolates, spices and many things there. Easy for bus travellers to get it before returning back
This homestay is by far the best experience I had in Ooty and I've been there many times. The property gives an old colonial furnishing vibe. The staff is generous and accommodating to the requests. The food they give is better than any hotel, both in terms of quality and quantity. The property is uphill from the centre, you can embrace silence with warm sun and bird chirps. In addition, you can enjoy beautiful sunsets while having piping tea/coffee and snacks of your choice. I would love to come here again.
Excellent location over a hill, overlooking a small settlement on the outskirts of Ooty. Being at a height, the entire resort was covered in cloud and mist and it was just surreal. Rooms were large, nice and clean. Excellent network reception and good quality wifi which I would not expect in a hotel, let alone in a hotel at such a secluded location. Entire property is beautifully managed and it makes one feel that we are amidst the raw nature.
Without hesitation, book it! I was pleasantly surprised by the numerous positive reviews about this property, especially the heartfelt mentions of the welcoming hosts. After booking and experiencing it myself, words fall short to describe the genuine love and hospitality they extend to every guest. I highly recommend this property to anyone seeking a home-like stay in Ooty, given its excellent location near key tourist attractions.
Even after confirmed booking and called one prior to reaching their place to reception
Not allowed and given room, and told that they don't have booking in y name and no possible to give room
I requested to show if any room is available then reception ask to visit site and disconnected the call
11th hour I have to go from hotel to hotel for room in the hot summer
I have not expected such service from booking.com site
At first, I was a little hesitant to book as it was pretty much a new hotel and I didn't know about the stay and such...but the president's suite totally exceeded my expectations and the price was very reasonable...I would totally suggest the hotel for anyone looking for a more than comfortable stay in Ooty..the staffs and the management were very supportive even though my stay there was very short.Kudos to the team!
All information are fake . First this is not resort. This is independent house with some rooms. No kitchen, No house keeping,No security.only one person is there for all work. Go to hell this so called resort and booking.com , actually you are dalla.com means bhandwa of red light area. You cheated people with wrong information.
All i can say is superb. The location is quite silent and located 4 kms away from ooty town. Its meticulously clean and value for money. Food is good. Overall 5 star for the staff behavior and attitude. I will surely recommended this property for those who are looking for privacy family resort in ooty.
he room was dingy. No ventilation. It was smelling bad. Blankets were smelling bad too. There were holes on the bedsheet. Definitely not worth the money we paid.
It is not the same as it looks in picture of different hotel booking website.. very poor quality of room
I went for check in they said rooms under maintenance not available go for other hotels even I paid advance 1000 for booking at the time of booking, please don't advertise such property
