Hotel Pelikan, hotel in Virpazar

Featuring an à-la-carte restaurant serving traditional cuisine, Hotel Pelikan is located on the Skadar Lake. It offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi.

I'd recommend both the hotel and restaurant. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. I stopped on a bikepacking trip and no problem to store my bike. The hot water and high water pressure of the shower were truly a gift!! I had trout at the restaurant it was really fresh and flavorful. highly recommend!

Studio and winery Kalimut, hotel in Virpazar

The family is amazing. We showed up with a flat tire and immediately half the family helped to remove it and take it to town to be fixed, they even offered to lend us their car while we waited. So nice. The dinner is just amazing, definitely need to do it at least one night, and be hungry - it's a ton of awesome food. They also accept dietary requests with no problem (I'm vegetarian). In case you have to get some work done the wifi was also pretty fast for being out in the country - around 50 mps download. Their winery is really beautiful and totally family-run which is so cool to see. Their wine is amazing of course as well. The room was modern, nice, clean and comfortable. Shower was good with hot water :). Definitely come stay here with this lovely family :)

Lakeview Apartments Anđela, hotel in Virpazar

Situated 1.2 km from Lake Skadar, Lakeview Apartments Anđela offers accommodation with a patio, as well as a garden and barbecue facilities.

Wow. What an exceptional service we had at Lakeview apartments. Firstly, the scenery is beautiful. The apartments are located in a quiet but not entirely secluded place, with an easy 5 minute walk into the centre of Virpazar (across a main road and train track so be cautious). The apartment was equipped with everything needed for our short stay and was a good base for exploring Lake Skadar. Apartment aside, our stay was made by the exceptional service from the host. It is evident that she works tirelessly to provide an outstanding service. She made us feel so welcome and is incredibly generous. If you stay at Lakeview apartments be sure to take advantage of her amazing cooking and home made wine! I would recommend this stay to anybody looking to explore Lake Skadar and the surrounding area.

Lux Apartment Sunset, hotel in Virpazar

Offering free WiFi and mountain views, Lux Apartment Sunset is an accommodation set in Virpazar. The property features lake and river views.

The location of the property is perfect. You are right in the heart of the action. Great views in the morning and sunset. Walking distance to all the activities and restaurants that Virpazar has to offer. The private parking space is valuable for such a small busy town. The apartment is well represented by the pictures. Great lounge area and spacious balcony. Small compact kitchen but workable for the 4 nights that we were there. Zoran helped us with the tourist registration papers. He helped us with a small grocery shop as we were arriving on a Sunday when supermarkets are closed. He also reminded us of supermarket closures during the national holidays so we were able to stock up on essentials. Zoran was always on hand with anything that we needed. We asked for an iron and a clothes drying rack and these were provided immediately. Zoran also gave us a card that allowed us to receive 10% discount in a few of the local restaurants, which was a lovely bonus.

Guest House Luna, hotel in Virpazar

Boasting a patio with garden views, free bikes and a garden, Guest House Luna can be found in Virpazar, close to Lake Skadar and 24 km from Port of Bar.

I had a wonderful experience at guest house Luna. The apartment is lovely and so is everybody working there! It is a bit tricky to find on your own, so I would recommend going to the Luna Store just outside the train station. They helped me out a lot with activities around Virpazar and gave me plenty of tips for other destinations in Montenegro too. The house was very clean when I arrived, the beds very comfortable and the wifi worked well all the time.

The most favourite spot was the acommodation itself, his hospitality and the lake itself. I ate in a reastaurant, in the house and on the beech. Everywhere was perfect and delicious. It is easy to get to Virpazar, both from Sutomore and Podgorica. There is nothing to avoid, everything was great.

I thought the lake was over-rated.

I thought the lake was over-rated. We enjoyed a morning kayaking (about 9km) and saw some water birds but I have had much better kayaking experiences elsewhere in pristine environments. In places the water was smelly, I certainly wouldn't swim in it. There was also rubbish floating in various places. Nice from a distance - climb the short track to the monastary and take in a more distant view. The township didn't seem particularly special - a base for boat and kayak trips wand a few restaurants.

An incredible place if you like wildlife and easy walking. A great place to relax for a few days. Lovely lanes and villages to walk looking for tortoises, snakes and lizards. A couple of nice, medium walks off the lanes. The people are very friendly and can speak pretty good English and like a bit of banter. Also has some nice relaxed bars and restaurants, no hard sell.

Virpazar is a very small village - a supermarket, a restaurant by the river and one more close to supermarket. The reason to go there is to sail on the lake - must be gordious in the summer - we were there in beginning of april - a bit chilly and not a lot of birds. But we took a boat trip and visited an old church and said hello to the munks from a nearby convent.

The main attraction is lake skadar, and it’s even more beautiful than pictures I’ve seen on the internet. I’ve never seen so much natural beauty before! You have to book a boat tour in order to truly experience the lake in all its glory.

Very small town, bridge is the main attraction and you constantly get hustled into boat trips round the lake. One of the local restaurants wouldn't let us use the toiled under the pretence of no water, but it is OK for them to use it and serve the food. We have been told they do it often so their toilets wouldn't get dirty. Anyway we left for another restaurant Rostiljada outside of the Virpazar and we were not disappointed.

Wonderful experience staying with this family. Everyone was so kind and helpful, and the food was plentiful and delicious. We also really enjoyed the homemade red wine, and the rakija. We did a private boat tour with the owner, which was fantastic and well worth the cost. I think it’s important to allow plenty of time to drive to the location from Virpazar because the roads are so narrow, and watch for places to pull over in case you need to back up to let someone pass. All in all, a very memorable and terrific visit.

We loved our stay with Vesna! We felt so welcome, when we arrived she greeted us with homemade walnut wine and we chatted away with the help of google. The house is in a beautiful valley about a 15 minute drive from Virpazar - we enjoyed going for walks, sitting on the balcony taking in the quiet, and meeting the pets. Vesna is an absolutely excellent cook, easily some of the best food we ate in Montenegro and lots of the ingredients grown or made by her! Thank you for a special time.

I recommend this acommodation either for a couple or the whole family. The mark is perfect 10. The host Ilija Radoman was excellent, friendly, organized a boat ride and the dinner (fish and home made red wine). There is a free car park in front of the facilities. The house is very well located, about 600m from the centre. He even announced us and recommended the restaurant in Virpazar. I can say all the best about the host, hospitality and the house. it was 3 mins drive from Lake Skadar and also grocery. The host was super gracious and had fruit and milk upon arrival. He gave great recommendations, and was always available. We were so grateful for the fully equipped kitchen and the extras including AC and washer dryer. this place was our favorite after a week in 4 Airbnb in Montenegro. There’s also a cute winery by the house open till 9pm for tasting. location is incredible.

Marko is the kindest and most hospital host we'd ever had! He will do the best to make your stay unforgettable. He arranged a boat trip for us, recommend some places to eat, told us about Montenegro's history and his winery. We got to taste his wine, don't want to spoil, but it is really good. He is really helpful and the place is cozy and clean. Totally recommend this place if you want to visit Virpazar and lake Skadar.

Milina is a wonderful host. The apartment is above her house and much of the food she serves is from their land. Great breakfast. Dinner was good too. The place is located about 2 km from Virpazar down a quiet lane. Excellent location to enjoy Lake Skadar from. Only about 30 minutes to airport and Bar. The drive around the lake through Albania takes only about three hours if you don’t stop (but who wouldn’t).

Loved the space, decor, and location overseeing the lake. Zoran was a wonderful host, and we even rented his boat with him as Skipper for a private cruise on the lake, which included spotting birds and swimming in the open lake. Our entire stay was wonderfully relaxing for a couple of days before we headed to the airport to leave Montenegro.
