This was a great location, it was a 5 minute walk from a small very cheap restaurant on the beach. Then hiring a moped is cheap so you can go to pretty much anywhere on the island in under 45 mins. The host was super friendly and helpful, leaving clear instructions for a smooth self check in!

When I first arrived, I freaked out by the lack of any shops...
When I first arrived, I freaked out by the lack of any shops/activity nearby, choice of restaurants etc. By day 2, I LOVED the serenity of the place. There was one restaurant 50 metres away, where I ate every night for a few dollars, opens at 4pm. wo coffee shops, that also served snacks, and a general store about 10 mins walk away. I had a beach to myself for my entire stay! Staying at Red Coral was like being at a retreat. Very comfortable, and very clean basic rooms, hot water shower, great aircon, kettle, fridge. Friendly and helpful staff. I can't wait to return. If you are party person, this is probably NOT the place for you! Get around by using Grab app ... so cheap!MandyAustralia - 6.0Scored 6.0
The beach is gorgeous, but we didn't swim in the ocean...
The beach is gorgeous, but we didn't swim in the ocean because of the concern for jellyfish stings. Beach is quite isolated from the rest of the island for most activities, although the mangrove tours launch from the beach, which is very convenient. I wouldn't recommend staying on Tanjung Rhu because of it being far away from other things on the island (30 minutes drive or so), especially with kids.LoreneSingapore - 10Scored 10

The views in front of the swimming pool are awesome! We had 2 dinners at the restaurant but I must say choices were very limited. We have been given complimentary airport transfers both ways. A big thank you to Tanjung Rhu!

Staff needs more training - most were new and could do with...
Staff needs more training - most were new and could do with more knowledge and finesse for such an established resort. Some came across as unhelpful, not willing to give extended check out even though the resort was running on low capacity. Some came across as patronizing which can be irritating to well-travelled guests. Half the resort was boarded up - they should close and proceed with the refurbishment immediately, not doing things by halves. Food was sub-par for an establishment like this. It is one of the best locations in Langkawi, but run half-heartedly. Such a pity.

Its a tranquil, quiet getaway. A lovely resort to walk around, with an excellent beach with stunning sunsets. Do make sure to have a rental car, as the location is a little secluded, but the area is worth the drive. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, AC worked perfectly. The staff was friendly and helpful (they recommended us the best place for breakfast, provided transfer to the airport, etc.). There was tea, instant coffee, cold ant hot drinking water for free. Also, there were several nice fluffy kittens on the grounds :)

They have also a service from airport/hotel (which is not that much expensive, around 50 MYR). They also provide you bikes , you can rent them for days (around 50/60 MYR per day). They can arrange you different activities which are near the hotel. I recommand you at 100%.
