We booked the Literature Suite because of its close proximity to Schweitzer; we were looking for a place to stay after skiing and staying in an old schoolhouse sounded like it could be fun. When we walked in, we were really amazed! It felt like entering a secret hideaway. The literature theme was carried through the entire suite and it really made me want to curl up with a good book. Someone clearly put a lot of thought into the design of the space. It was helpful to have the well-equipped kitchen area as we didn't feel like going out to a restaurant after playing all day. Raven, our host was very helpful and made sure we were taken care of.
My experience in this town was truly wonderful! The town is quiet and secure, making it an ideal destination for those seeking relaxation and comfort. The town center is absolutely charming, filled with a variety of unique shops and delicious restaurants to explore.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the stunning beach, which boasts an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. The beach itself was clean and well-maintained, making it an ideal spot for a day of leisure.
In addition to the beach, there was also a fantastic ski resort nearby that more than met my expectations. The slopes were spacious and not overly crowded, making for an enjoyable skiing experience. The lifts were also fast, which meant less time waiting in line and more time on the slopes.
The locals in the town were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made my stay even more enjoyable. I felt like I was truly part of the community, and the warm hospitality I encountered was truly heartwarming.
Overall, I would highly recommend this town as a vacation destination. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun on the beach or hit the slopes at the nearby ski resort, this town offers something for everyone. The quaint town center, delicious restaurants, and friendly locals make it an unforgettable experience.

Great little city to visit, alot to do, alot to see.
Great little city to visit, alot to do, alot to see. Sandpoint also lets you leave the big city pace behind, it was a great time day or night and all the people were friendly and welcomed us. Great food, great antique shops, pretty scenery....quite little town nestled in the mountains.

This is Idaho. I thought it would be more pet friendly.
This is Idaho. I thought it would be more pet friendly. We hoped to take our dogs to the lake. Most parks and beaches were posted "no dogs allowed". Not a very dog friendly place and VERY expensive. I paid $35 bucks for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 small coffees. I regretted reserving the hotel for 2 nights. I just wanted to go home after one night.

Outdated, shabby.
Outdated, shabby. Felt more like staying in a convalescent hospital. Horrible dining room. Edgewater billed me twice. Once for my actual stay and a second time for a phantom visit several days prior to my arrival. I am furious. Having to dispute it on my Am Ex card. The indoor pool was the only nice thing I can say about this hotel.
Small, boutique community. Overall, disappointing. I would not bother to go back.
If I stayed anywhere again, it would be at The Lodge in Sagel, just over the south end of the bridge. Elegant, upscale accommodation. An authentic fine dining restaurant. The Edgewater was a pathetic burn. I would never recommend it.

The beach, the beach, the beach.
The beach, the beach, the beach. Okay the surrounding forests, the trails, the water falls (we did drive and hike into Snow Creek Falls and it was beautiful....upper and lower falls). Loved the Trinity Restrauant at City Beach..... the Classic Burger.... though simple and fairly inexpensive was mouth watering, loved having breakfast at Connie’s, Kokanee and Roastry was to die for especially the scones, hey we gotta go back there are all sorts of great places to eat and visit. The boat tour/cruises from City Beach was a must do as it is the only way to truly see the lake. The boat staff were great and I even liked the snacks 👍😎

Covid has impacted the hotel and the restaurant and the town...
Covid has impacted the hotel and the restaurant and the town. Lots of places are closed, hard to find breakfast because there is no one open to serve it. Lack of staff, and general malaise and recovery evident everywhere. Not much to do at this time. Maybe in a few months, when thing pick up. We had to eat at drive throughs unless we wanted to go to bars or just coffee shops, other than our hotel dinner. It is beautiful everywhere. Getting around is easy, and walking is doable. I wouldn't avoid anything, I'm looking forward to things opening back up. Go spend your money there, help them open.
Nice small town, clean and safe even during the nights. Walk everywhere. Short walk from Amtrak railway station. Staff extremely helpful when during last day Amtrak cancelled our train due to floods in Montana. Hotel offered not to charge for the last night as we did not sleep there. Gave us their contact for a transfer (during the night) from Sandpoint Idaho to Spokane WA airport. As the hotel was booked through third party (booking.com) now the refund depends on booking.com. Hint: Book with hotel directly...
We really enjoyed our three night stay in a fabulous suite with a view of the lake! The balcony was large and we spent a lot of time there enjoying the view of the lake! The water was warm enough and took several swims from the lodge. We also liked being out of Sandpoint but within 5 minute striking distance. Would stay here again for sure!
Sat on the balcony in the evening and had breakfast out there the following morning- lovely view and ambience.Very happy. Our waiter Matt was a fountain of information about Sandpoint and very out going- Kudo’s to Matt. Please pass this on to him and will request his section next time we are there.
Last minute vacation, this was found on the listings. Great location, Great price, very nice place, easy to enjoy ourselves, the support was great and the Apartment was great, love having the amenities in the Kitchen. It was a great affordable stay in a great location in Sandpoint.
Erin at the front desk was great, very hospitable. Bed was comfortable, shower pressure good with plenty of hot water, pet friendly, good WiFi, and as a surprise: a nice indoor swimming pool. Don’t let looks deceive you—it was super quiet even though located right along the Hwy.
There was no breakfast due to the construction. The room was nice and it had a pleasant view. The restaurant at the top of the mountain was excellent. We had a wonderful lunch there.. The restaurant in the hotel was much better than I expected it would be.

Very nice property on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille. Nice room with balcony overlooking the lake. Attached restaurant has pleasant outdoor patio, also with great view. Easy walk into the town. Sandpoint is a charming town.
The beds were great the staff was awesome and it was nice to have quiet not a lot of people walking back and forth and so on was just a good stay for my time spent for work here in Sandpoint
Location of the hotel is great, just before starting the road to Scheitzer Mountain. The reception and the bar are hudge and nice, well decorated. Convenient parking in front of the hotel
Seasons at Sandpoint’s location and view of Lake Pend Oreille are top notch, but Unit # 331 needs an industrial strength carpet cleaning company to address the stained carpets.
The condo is within walking distance of downtown Sandpoint. There are multiple pools on the property, which were great for our kids to swim. Friendly environment at the condos.
