Hotel is in a great location. The rooms could have been cleaner I found paper trash on the floor and hairs in the bathroom. Also we had to move rooms because of a sulfur like smell, not sure what it was. Second room did not have the smell. Worst hotel breakfast not even a bagel or bread for toast. Very basic.

I could not see Rehoboth Beach from the rental, but we loved traveling through the residential areas and looking to the homes. People in Rehoboth are very active; lots of biking, jogging and walking. I don't know the names of the beach we went to on our first day, but it was halfway between Rehoboth and Dewey. We went to Rehoboth off Rehoboth Avenue on the Sunday of Memorial day, and not only were the clouds so low that one couldn't see 50 ft into the ocean, but every space on the beach and boardwalk was filled, and that was a bit unnerving, especially for my friend that has social anxiety. That night we chose to order in for Saketumi (yummy!), and relaxed with the kids. We are scheming to come back - maybe renting a house with friends - and we'll avoid the big holiday weekends!

The best vacation spot period.
The best vacation spot period. Amazing restaurants amazing drinks amazing offers amazing boardwalk. Salt air was by far the best restaurant with delicious apps, dirty martinis and huge entrees. Henelopen staff were perfect and all options were delicate and delicious like the boulablaise and oyster shooters!!! I could have 5 of those. Blue hen happy hour gave the best shrimp cocktail i ever had and if you love oysters look no furthur- this town is full of amazing oysters. The fries on the boardwalk has got to be a staple and all around this place blows other vacation spots out of the water!

The shops and town are beautiful!
The shops and town are beautiful! I loved that the hotel we stayed in had an indoor pool, hot tub and sauna/steam room options. The breakfast was awesome! It was super close to the beach. We went in off season and I absolutely loved it, not too crowded but enough to socialize. Will be going back with my kids next time!

Went at the very end of March.
Went at the very end of March. It got very windy but overall the weather was perfect for long walks on the beach and visiting the downtown shopping areas. It’s busy but not too crowded at that time of year.
The beaches themselves were gorgeous both day and night. I recommend taking the few minute drive north to Cape Henlopen State Park for those beaches as well, or take a long walk if your legs feel good. Great views of lighthouses and more.
The seafood was excellent at each location we went, but note that if you go before April, you’ll likely not be able to find steamed blue crab on the menu.

There are many shops and restaurants to chose from.
There are many shops and restaurants to chose from. This time we had a nice seafood dinner at Finns. We also stopped for a snack & drink at the Big Oyster. Both were great.
We enjoyed visiting Schellville Village on one of its last nights. This is something we'd like to try again maybe next year probably in early December as some of the vendors had already closed down when we were there.
It was also fun to see the Polar Plunge teams making their annual New Year's Day plunge at Cape Henlopen Beach.
Location was great but you have to read the fine print on their room description. The hotel is split into 2 locations, the Avenue and Avenue 2. The Avenue is the hotel with the restsurant, spa, indoor pool etc. The Avenue 2 is around 12 rooms Motel style above a bar who plays loud music til 1am about a quarter mile from the main place. You can use all the facilities in the main place but you are not part of it. The beds in these rooms are also very hard and the covers are rough and coarse.
The staff was very friendly! The outdoor patio/grilling area was a pleasant unexpected touch. The pool wasn't freezing so I was able to enjoy it even though it hasn't peak summer season. The breakfast was good. Actual eggs and bacon are a plus for me. Service was quick to respond when a light bulb was out. even the other guests in the hotel were friendly. There were laundry facilities on-site; something I wasn't aware of but very happy to have. It was close enough to the beach.
I loved everything about this hotel. From the hospitality to the room. They made me feel like I was home. I’m mad that I only booked one night here but it was not only comfortable but walking distance from the beach. They serve you breakfast, they have happy hour daily, give you complimentary snacks, and greet you with LOVE. I’ve NEVER had such a wonder welcome like this when checking into a hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone who goes to Rehoboth Beach
hello in a few words the worst thing in a hotel that could be the staff was lousy the aviation smelled bad it was an unpleasant smell and we told them and they changed them to another room that was worse holia bad from cigarettes and I asked for a non-smokers place almost at my door was where the smokers discard their cigarette filters the 5 days I was there for only one day they went to clean the room we used the same sheets the 5 days why didn't they change them
Loved.the rate. Loved the young woman who checked us in. Loved it being pet-friendly. Room was just fine and clean. What I did not like was that the booking.com notice of this hotel had pet-friendly on the posting page and then no other mention of that as a benefit and most definitely did not mention that there was a $40 per dog fee. So, the outstanding initial rate became a just ok rate and a "why wasn't that mentioned?" negative feature for booking.com.
This hotel is in a fantastic location for families visiting Rehoboth Beach. It is near one end of the boardwalk so the arcades and such are not in your face but are only a short walk away. The beach was only a 2 min walk for my two little kids - couldn't ask for more convenience. On site parking for 1 vehicle is in a raised lot, not on street.
Liked front desk manager s were very curious . And clean ,good attitude go about the guests satisfaction. Will like to re -iterate about the swimming pool or clean rooms this was a typo the truth is The ,"American Inn , Rehoboth beach, Delaware was the property that i intended to describe about not being up to my expectations.
Absolutely nothing . This hotel was horrible . They had called me when I was on the beach to move a car that wasn’t mine. Told me I could not use the lot to park and my car and my best bet would be to try a lot across the street.
Beautiful property right on the Boardwalk. Interesting Victorian theme throughout. Staff was exceptional. Only had breakfast on the restaurant but it was very good and they had a very nice menu.
Dirty rooms, small beds for couples. The breakfast was even good, on the hotel level. I wouldn't stay there again and I wouldn't recommend it to friends.
