We thought we'd stay at Bodega Bay where they made The Birds.... but we didn't find anywhere available there so ended up here at Sebastopol. What a great find! We decided to stay 2 nights. Great rooms, parking, really fabulous team members. Would recommend and stay again!

Rodeway Inn Wine Country, hotel in Tomales

Within 30 minutes drive, savor the experience of Sonoma County and Napa Valley, wander through the ancient Redwood groves, and enjoy sandy beaches with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

It is a hotel with beds and swimming pool, that is all. Nothing to recommend, because they do not serve breaks fast, despite offering the service on Booking.com.

Granted, we came in the off season, so we knew we weren’t going to get the full experience and we’d like to come back at some point. The bakery across the street had coffee and great pastries. The General Store is beautiful! The family who first owned it bought it back in 2021 and they’ve done an incredible job making it stocked with things you might need for your travels and lots of cute things to bring back as souvenirs.

    Tomales is very quiet.

Tomales is very quiet. There's not much to do there because it has only two hotel/inns, a small but well-stocked store, two cafes, and a restaurant that appears to be open primarily for dinner. This is not a place for people who want a lot of action. It was ideal for us to just get away to a quiet place. Dillon Beach, Bodega Bay, and Pt. Reyes station are scenic drives during the day, but I would advise against drinking too much before driving the winding roads back to Tomales.

Room was exceptionally well equipped. Not much open in Tomales at 6 am and the french press pot and ground coffee were a lifesaver. Room was spacious and clean. Shower great. Self checkin was well explained.

Location was great. The inn was super close to the beach just like we wanted. Prior to our stay we hadn’t been in Tomales before and didn’t realize how small the town was. I just wish there was more too do.

Wonderful old Victorian house in "downtown" Tomales -- great location. No breakfast (only coffee -- not really a "B&B").
